The Ordinary has firmly cemented itself as a leader in science-backed skin care. Taking the guesswork out of building a regime, it ditches unnecessary, filler ingredients for familiar, hard-working actives that deliver promising results. A case in point is the Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% (30ml), a gentle serum designed to smooth, brighten and plump.
Want to improve the appearance of dull, lacklustre skin while you sleep? Cue The Ordinary's Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres (30ml) treatment.
At the centre of this water-free formula is L-ascorbic acid (AKA the purest form of vitamin C) which remains completely stable due to the absence of water. Famed for its brightening abilities, this acid reduces the appearance of an uneven skin tone and dark spots. That's not all though; with the infusion of hyaluronic acid spheres, this treatment also hydrates and plumps the skin. It's ideal to use at bedtime, so you can wake up with a radiant, supple and more youthful-looking complexion.
Ascorbic Acid, Squalane, Isodecyl Neopentanoate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Coconut Alkanes, Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glucomannan, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer, Acrylates/Ethylhexyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Trihydroxystearin, Bht.
For the latest information, it is recommended to review the ingredient list printed on the packaging of the product prior to usage or consumption.
Apply a small amount to the face once daily, ideally in the evening. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes. Use sun protection during the day. A tingling sensation can be expected; if the sensation is too strong, the formula can be mixed with other oils of your preference before each application to reduce the strength.

needs other products to work with but great results
When I first got this, I just tried using this as a serum. The texture was horrible, it felt like I was rubbing face cream with sand in it on my face, but now I think I have figured out how to use it. I mix the smallest amount I can get out of the tube (which disposes a lot of product at once, way more than you need) with my moisturiser and a few drops of a HA serum and the terrible texture is gone, and it also doesn't tingle. It's a bit of a process, so if you just wanna slap something on your face and be done, this is probably not for you. The smell is also not pleasant but it's not bad, I take it over something with a fragrance. It's really made my skin just lot more brighter and the texture on my forehead seems to be so much better since I started using this. Also, very good packaging for a product that's sensitive to light, big plus on that.

Meh
I don’t really have super sensitive skin but this burned my face. I also don’t love the texture it is quite grainy. I started just putting this on my forehead wrinkles which is fine and I don’t really get a reaction to it, but I can’t really tell if it makes a difference. I’ve tried a handful of the Ordinary products and some of them are amazing but this isn’t one I would buy again.

Great product, will purchase again
I've used it a handful of times so far (every other night, alternating with another product) and some recent acne scars are already fading faster than they usually do. The product has a slight heating effect for me rather than a tingle or stinging sensation, but no adverse reactions. I don't have sensitive skin but it can be fussy, and it seems perfectly happy with this. I would recommend applying it at night, however, as my makeup would definitely slip off with the texture of this suspension. Some of the other reviews complain about how gritty it is, but I found it's really a very mild grittiness that you can only feel when you're applying it, and doesn't bother me at all. The smell is fine, not good but not awful. I also haven't experienced any of the orange pillow stains some reviewers seem to, but that could be down to any number of factors. Overall very happy with it, have wanted to introduce vitamin C into my routine for a while and this is the perfect thing for it. The price point is also, as always, great.

Weird texture
I have so many products from The Ordinary and love them, but the texture of this is a bit odd for me. I get that it’s the spheres but just feels grainy and like I need to wipe it off!!

Awful texture
I tried this for the first time last week. 1. The texture is absolutely dreadful! It feels like I am applying sand to my face, it is not absorbed nicely on my skin and there's no way I can wear my foundation after this serum. It just blocks my skin from any other makeup, however it might be okay if you use it only for skincare without putting any makeup afterwards. 2. To be honest, you can tell that it brightens your skin after a few days of using but the more days you use it for the worse you feel. The tingling and itching are unbearable and my skin became super sensitive. So the good effect is just not worth the uncomfortable feeling on your skin. I purchased this serum alongside other The Ordinary products such us AHA peeling, rosehip oil, and caffeine solution. I love the other stuff, but this particular product is just a big NO-NO for me.

Use only at night!
The product is very nice. The day after I used this on my skin, it wakes up looking healthy and with amazing texture. My main points with this are, 1) I live in Brazil, you cannot use in the morning otherwise your skin will get SUPER oily (and my skin is normal). 2) I can feel the HA spheres while applying and this bothers me a little - looks like a micro-exfoliation.

Not for sensitive skin
I kept using this even though it really tingles on the initial application as it said it would. However, I have had to stop using it for a while as I developed red itchy blotches around eyes and mouth. They are disappearing now I’ve stopped using it but if I use it again I will have to mix it with another moisturiser. I’ve used other expensive vitamin C products before and I have never experienced this reaction.

Absolute gamechanger!
This is the first product I’ve tried that’s ever made a noticeable difference in how my skin looks. I’ve been using it for a about a month now, and my skin’s never looked smoother and brighter. My texture has improved loads and my skin looks healthy and glowy for once! Yes, the texture of this Vitamin C is a bit grainy, but that’s the whole point of the spheres! It doesn’t feel weird on the skin once applied as it doesn’t leave any residues, but it can always be mixed in with a moisturiser if it really bothers you. If you’re looking for a great Vitamin C, you can’t go wrong with The Ordinary - cheap as chips too!

vitamin C
When I apply this suspension at night, I really notice some brightening of my complexion and my skintone is more even. Surely will continue to use. The only downside is that my pillow got slightly stained so be aware and the smell is not very pleasant. Otherwise for this price I highly recommend you to try this product.

Hi I have been using the hyaluronic acid for a few weeks now. I tried it in combination with your vitamin c suspension but I found that the two combined was too strong for me and really burned my skin, but I still use the hyaluronic acid in combination with super drug vitamin c serum and it works for me. My skin is pretty ancient I was born in the late 1940s so I have a few smile lines, this combo makes my skin soft and smooth I still have wrinkles but hey ho, my make up goes on very well. I'm going to try your eye serum next. By the way the ordinary vitamin c serum and hyaluronic acid work very well on my hands knees and elbows mixed with my body lotion.
