The Ordinary has firmly cemented itself as a leader in science-backed skin care. Taking the guesswork out of building a regime, it ditches unnecessary, filler ingredients for familiar, hard-working actives that deliver promising results. A case in point is the Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% (30ml), a gentle serum designed to smooth, brighten and plump.
Want to improve the appearance of dull, lacklustre skin while you sleep? Cue The Ordinary's Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres (30ml) treatment.
At the centre of this water-free formula is L-ascorbic acid (AKA the purest form of vitamin C) which remains completely stable due to the absence of water. Famed for its brightening abilities, this acid reduces the appearance of an uneven skin tone and dark spots. That's not all though; with the infusion of hyaluronic acid spheres, this treatment also hydrates and plumps the skin. It's ideal to use at bedtime, so you can wake up with a radiant, supple and more youthful-looking complexion.
Ascorbic Acid, Squalane, Isodecyl Neopentanoate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Coconut Alkanes, Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glucomannan, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer, Acrylates/Ethylhexyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Trihydroxystearin, Bht.

Apply a small amount to the face once daily, ideally in the evening. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes. Use sun protection during the day. A tingling sensation can be expected; if the sensation is too strong, the formula can be mixed with other oils of your preference before each application to reduce the strength.

A key part of your routine
This product isn't an overnight wonder but after using it for a couple of months of using it, my complexion was more even and my skin was a bit brighter. It wasn't until I got lazy with my skincare and stopped using it that I realised how much if a difference it made to my complexion. It won't completely change your skin but it brings a significant amount of life back to my mid-30s skin.

Horrible product, avoid at all costs.
I have a lot of love for some of the Ordinary’s products but for this I have none. The texture is awful - it literally has bits in it that are meant to dissolve but often never do. The smell leaves something to be desired, and it leaves a stinging/burning sensation when applied. Not to mention the fact it doesn’t feel moisturising at all. I tried to find redeeming factors before leaving this review but was left without a single positive thing to say (minus how cheap it is).

Good value
For such a reasonable price this is a great vitamin c product, the texture however is very grainy, hence 1 star removed, but does offer a brightening effect to the skin.

Not for sensitive skin
I thought I would give this a go but my skin was too sensitive and it stung my skin a lot. It has a grainy texture to it as well.

Vitamin c 23%
I love this, yes it's gritty and it tingles but that shows the high concentration of vitamin c, I use this in the morning after cleansing and rub gently on my face, it feels like it's exfoliating with the grainy bits but after a couple of minutes my skin feels really soft.

TO Vitamin C
I am 48 and have pigmentation on my chest, so this is what I bought this product for. It never stings, but it has a grainy texture which I think would bother me if I was applying it to my face. It does a good job of brightening, especially for the price

The stinging is worth it...
I have olive skin that tans easily - however that also means that I have skin that is prone to hyperpigmentation. The Ordinary Vit C Suspension is the ONLY product that can remove new hyperpigmentation spots for me. If I catch too much sun on holiday or my SPF washed off in the sea, I slather my skin in this in the evening and by morning, the dark areas are gone. It truly is a wonder product and is easily the the most effective Vitamin C product I've ever used. The price point is ridiculously cheap given how efficacious it is.

my fave the ordinary product
ive tried a bunch of the ordinary products and this has to be the most effective one of them all. super impressive: you put it on at night and you wake up with brighter looking skin even after one application. and it wasnt just me who noticed it. the only downside is that it is not for sensitive skin in my opinion. there is definitely a burning sensation when you apply it and it can make your skin feel a little dry. you do get used to it though. but not exactly for newbies to vitamin c. hence -1 star in the rating, otherwise cant fault it.

Not the best...not the worst
This product is average and doesn't give the usual 'wow factor' I've come to expect from The Ordinary products. Pro's - don't need a lot of product and seems to boost my skin. Con's - smells weird/unpleasant and doesn't mix well with other products (experience a lot of piling). I won't be buying it again and will be trying other brands.
