The ultimate foil to dull, congested skin, Then I Met You's Birch Milk Refining Toner harnesses a cocktail of exfoliating and moisturising extracts to effectively smooth the look of fine lines, reveal a brighter tone and clarify your pores. We'll take ten, please!
Made with all skin types in mind, this milky toner is as fit for acid aficionados as it is for exfoliating beginners. With a base of over 70%(!) birch juice, squalane, glycerin and sodium hyaluronate, it's safe to say the conditioning ingredients easily balance out the exfoliating ones, so you can refine your skin without worrying about sensitizing it. It's powered by an optimal 1% blend of industry-adored AHAs (think: glycolic and lactic acid) as well as PHA gluconolactone to reveal a more even texture and luminous tone. Ensuring your skin looks dewy and supple, marshmallow root extract then hydrates and protects your skin as it eases inflammation. In short, consider this toner as proof that battling blemishes doesn't need to leave your skin feeling stripped!
Gentle for daily use. After cleansing, shake well and dispense Birch Milk Refining Toner into your hands and pat or press onto your face and neck. You can also use a cotton pad to gently swipe the toner onto the face and neck. Follow up with The Giving Essence (or essence and serum of choice) to hydrate and strengthen exfoliated skin. With any expected sun exposure, always protect your skin with sunscreen.
For beginners who don't regularly exfoliate, slowly incorporate the Birch Milk Refining Toner into your routine about 2-3x a week until your skin is acclimated.
For those accustomed to regular exfoliation with acids, alternate use with your other acid products (i.e. day vs. night or every other day) to prevent over-exfoliation and sensitization.

Not what I expected
I was expecting a very milky consistency, however it is more water but very effective. The acids in this product make my skin look hydrated and refreshed. Very impressed.

Just what I needed
This is everything I needed (and more) after spending some time with acids to clear blemishes and the dark spots that follow – I had definitely lost that hydrated, dewy glow and this toner instantly put it right back! With just a few drops, my skin felt soft and smooth; and emitted a healthy, hydrated glow – obsessed!

Goodbye dull skin!
My skin has looked so bright and glowy after using this toner for a few weeks. It's so gentle that it doesn't irritate my skin at all and it exfoliates my skin beautifully whilst leaving it feeling hydrated (not stripped!). I'd recommend this to anyone, but particularly to those who have found some exfoliators too harsh in the past.

Hydrating & Refining!
Toning is my favourite step of my skincare routine and I’m so fussy with formulas but this one really does it all! It feels really deeply hydrating and doesn’t leave your skin feeling stingy or stripped but it really helps to smooth out any texture and refine pores and leaves skin feeling baby soft!

Beautiful formula
This toner feels so soothing and hydrating on my skin, and yet it keeps blackheads and breakouts at bay. If you have dry skin like yours truly this toner is the one!

Gentle and hydrating
This is such a gentle but effective toner - I found it completely non-irritating (I do find some glycolic exfoliators too harsh for me) and packed with hydrating ingredients, so a perfect step in my morning routine after cleansing and before serums / moisturisers. I use it daily and have definitely noticed my skin is brighter and smoother as a result.

Beautiful Texture, Beautiful Finish!
This soaked in well into my combination/oily skin and left a nice vibrant finish on the skin and with the hydrating and moisturising ingredients, I was not running to grab my moisturiser to stop that old-school stripped feeling straight away so was a lot more pleasant when I as layering my products. I would say include it into your routine 2 to 3 times a week and see how it goes as, personally, I am not of a fan of my skin or my customers for daily exfoliation even with gentle formulations but of course, it does depend on your preference, skin and needs as well!
