    The Ordinary Coverage Foundation Reviews

Good colour match but poor staying power
I had high hopes for this, but was left underwhelmed. The colour is great and matched me perfectly, but after a couple of hours I had to reapply my powder as it was separating on my face. As someone who doesn’t have oily skin I was quite surprised I need to apply the power again. Wont be re-ordering.
Ok foundation for the price. Separates in bottle. If you don’t mosturise your face beforehand, it REALLY emphasises dry patches, and can flake off during the day. It has no oil control. However, the coverage is light to medium (buildable) and does last quite a while. If you have oily skin, and you are going to set this, I feel like it would be a lot better x
    Great Foundation
I love this foundation, I have olive skin so mix the 2.0 foundation with the 2.1 serum for the perfect tone!
    Best Foundation ever
I use 1.1N and 1.2Y together and the match is perfect. The coverage is good
I feel so bad leaving a 1 star review on a product from my favorite skincare brand, but this one is BAD! No coverage on me,gets really oily. It even has ingredients which aren't ok for oily skin, they should have said it's for normal to dry skin. These are the ingredients: Coconut Alkanes,Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate .Same goes for the serum one which also has these 2 plus Stearic Acid, but weird, because that one doesn't get that oily and has more coverage.
    Good product. Great price.
This isn't the best foundation I've used but it's my far the best value for money. Not brilliant for my combination skin (definitely needs setting and powder top ups if you're having an oily day). However, the coverage is fantastic, you only need a tiny amount, and it's really lightweight. Great for work, saving my good stuff for weekends!
Neutralises the face and buildable coverage but very light. Also very easy to blend in other make up on top.
    Great foundation!
I have worn Estée Lauder Double Wear for years as I have oily skin with pigmentation and acne scars. I picked up The Ordinary foundation as I wanted to see if it was worth the hype. I have to say for the price, this is a great foundation. The coverage is medium but very buildable. As to staying power, it does require setting with a good quality powder. The foundation stays well throughout the day when set with powder. As the day goes on it becomes a bit more dewy but I really like the finish!
    Great foundation
I usually spend an absolute fortune on foundation, however I have to say this is actually much better than any of the ‘big brands’ I’ve been using. I can’t recommend this foundation enough!
    Great coverage
Coverage is excellent & not drying. Be careful with the colour match, medium is quite dark
    Love it
Literally the best full/medium coverage foundation. I bought 5.
    I love IT!
    Very good foundation! Recommend
    Ordinary foundation
This foundation has not worked from me; when applied at 9am was fine but as it hit lunch time it had start to become patchey an I had to powder on top as a back up at work! It’s cheap for a reason- poor quality!
    Great foundation for the price
So I have to preface this by saying that my skin is pretty good - dry to normal, some redness and enlarged pores on my T-Zone, very rare spots. This does a great job of covering my redness, evening out texture and merging with the skin to give a natural appearance. The coverage is medium, so for me it's enough (but I can get away with just concealer on lazy days). I had a spot on hormonal basis and it did not cover that at all. I also have dark circles and it will help but it's not enough on its own. Lasting power is fine, after 8 hour at the office it still looks presentable. I can stretch that out if I powder to around 10 hours tops. All in all a pretty good foundation, great if you consider the price.
    Really Good
Really good coverage and looks flawless! 5/5
    Out of the ordinary
Great product at a great price.
    Great one
    Love, love this foundation...good coverage
    New fave
So good for the price, it has perfect coverage and lasts all day. The only fault would be the shades look lighter online than they actually come so I'd recommend buying a shade lighter than you think.
    Great cheap product
I use this after the Dermacol foundation (which I use for spot concealer and colour correction), The Ordinary foundation evens my skin tone and looks very natural. I personally don't think it has a very full coverage. Great colour selection for pale skin tones and obviously the price is amazing!! My only problem is it doesn't last very well on oily spots and tends to break up and go patchy - also is quite patchy on dry spots. I've bought a primer to see if it will help this.
    Pretty good
Shade is a good match and feels nice but not great for dry skin, maybe better on oily.
Doesn't last more than a few hours
I liked the colour and it's pretty full coverage. However, I was quite disappointed when I took the first look in the mirror only after 4 hours of wear. The foundation was already then disappearing from nose and cheek - So I would not recommend it. I have combination skin.
Great coverage, but not for long
When I put this on in the morning the pigment is great, literally life-changing. The problem is that it won't stay on the face - even with a primer. If you try and set it with powder you can see the streaks from trying to blend it. And even when you get close to a base without streaks, I find that by the time I get back from college that it's completely melted from my face - am I doing something wrong? Anyway, I really want to like this foundation because it's impossible to find such coverage (and shade range!) for such a good price, it helps to cover scars and spots so in the meantime I shall try and find a solution to the aforementioned issues
    Not that great.
I wouldn't recommend for dry skin. It made me patchy and I was not happy with the colour either.
    Love it
This product is exactly what the description says. I ordered the wrong shade as I went on holiday and I’m now tanned but I am definitely ordering a new one!
Perfect coverage, great product for the price
This foundation is my new daytime favourite. It’s full coverage and it leaves a lovely satin finish! I guessed my shade online and it’s a perfect match. I love yellow undertone foundations for my skin. I would highly recommend this foundation for everyday wear- it’s reasonable price and does what it says on the bottle- blends nicely and hasn’t gave me any spots as of yet (which is a thing I usually struggle with when trying new foundations) doesn’t look cakey and looks flawless when applied with a beauty blender! Another pro is it lasts ALL day.
    I love it
This is an amazing foundation for such a small price, it does excatly what it says which is full coverage, great for everyday and would definitely recommend.
    Absolutely perfect foundation
I bought this over 3 times already and I will definitely buy it again. This foundation is everything u need and it has full coverage.
Jest lekki, nie zapycha porów, ładnie wygląda, polecam. "It is lightweight, it does not clog pores, it looks nice, I recommend it"
Not as good as the Serum Foundation
I love the serum foundation but this one clings to my dry patches too much and settles into lines and makes the skin look a little patchy. I will still use it but I will mix it into my serum one for a bit of extra coverage.
    Very cakey
There are rarely any products that I throw away without giving it a good go but this was one of them. Possibly the worst makeup product I've ever bought. I have combination skin and before I even got to the powdering phase of my makeup application this had already caked into every pore/fine line I have. For my skin type, I should much prefer this to the serum foundation, but it turns out I don't. The serum version is one of my favourite products.
Amazing product with great coverage for everyday use. Not just incredibly well priced but also feels so great on the skin and really gives a polished look. Unfortunately, the shade I purchased first was way too dark and the product oxidizes so I'd suggest most take that into consideration before the purchase, however, I can in no way blame the product for my mistake with regards to choosing my shade. Again, I highly recommend it.
Flakes on dry skin and doesn’t last very well, within 2 hours it becomes very patchy. It also transfers really badly.
    Love it
I have really dry skin and I use this as my everyday foundation. It's cheap and it lasts and it doesn't irritate my skin!
    Good product, great price
Matches my skin colour perfectly, gives good coverage, especially for the price.
I felt like I had been photoshopped
I recently been looking at new foundations for my oily face and read amazing reviews on this one in particular. I have a few skincare products from The Ordinary, mainly because they're so cheap and I've read such good things. When I ordered this, I was so excited to try it - and then when it came, I felt like a deflating balloon - it was so tiny!! However, I know that's my own fault because I didn't look at how much you got in the bottle, but for some reason, I just thought you'd get more - especially after I'd seen photos of it online, the bottle looked a lot bigger. That being said, when I first tried it, I put waaaaaay too much on. You only need a little amount as the coverage is amazing! I was so worried about the shade I ordered, but when it came, it was just the right shade for my face (I did a lot of googling and reading of reviews before deciding on my shade!). I honestly felt like I had been photoshopped once I had finished my makeup the first time I tried this. I was walking around with so much confidence because my skin just looked and felt amazing. I didn't feel like it was caked on, I didn't feel like it looked like I was wearing too much - but yet when I looked in the mirror - my skin just looked beautiful. I suffer from oily skin with quite big pores, and not only did I not have to touch up my makeup once (!!!!!!!!) when I was out that evening (which is usually something I have to do a lot!), my skin didn't go oily or shiny and my pores looked completely minimised. To summarise (because I very, very rarely leave reviews and especially long ones!), this foundation is amazing for us oily skinned. And the price is just amazing.
    I think I'm in love
Matches my skin tone amazingly, covers all discolouration on my cheeks and doesn't make my skin feel dry or oily. I can't get over how smooth it makes my skin look and feel. So great! (shade 1.2 P)
    Not impressed
I am not impressed with this product at all. I purchased this product 3 days ago. The delivery was extremely quick, the product wasn’t too good. As I first applied the foundation it did not cover my face at all, it felt tacky on my face. The foundation gave me a red rash on my face and made my face rather itchy. I checked the description and it doesn’t show anything that’s in the product that I’m allergic of. I would not recommend anyone to buy this product. It’s a waste of money.
    In love
I bought this one in the shade of 2.0YG and I absolutely loved it. it does a pretty good job at covering my blemishes (though you might still want to use concealer if you want a full coverage) and I love how lightweight this foundation is. I have a combination skin and whilst my t-zone does get quite oily throughout the day, I find that it's not as bad as when I was using other foundations. Also, I don't know if it's just me, but this foundation makes my skin look glowy - I really like that. Anyway, all in all, I love this foundation and it's a bonus that it's so cheap!
    One star
The foundation is the worse. Flakes on dry skin doesn’t cover anything up and wasn’t a decent colour. I know it’s cheap but still, I’ll be sticking with Tarte.
    Not Great
I had heard great things about this foundation as well as it being very cheap which is great and from reviews it seems to work for some people but after using it for a few days with the High Adherence Silicone Primer also from The Ordinary my skin became extremely dry and red from these products and my skin is normally quite oily, not only that but the foundation seemed to disappear almost immediately and did not seem to provide any coverage and was very patchy, I tried using different brushes or a beauty blender but the results were the same. Not impressed.
love it for an everyday look
Not very full coverage but the colour is PERFECT for my super pale skin and is really lightweight and looks very natural on. Plus it didn't have a lid that you could lose, but a twist to open nozzle which is very useful.
    Love it
On my second bottle already! This is the first foundation I’ve had that doesn't separate on my nose or cling to my dry patches. The shade is a beautiful match and it’s so comfortable to wear.
LOVE it. Perfect shade, perfect texture and lasts.
    Amazing foundation, amazing price
I ordered the foundation in 1.1N (for comparison my Fenty beauty shade is 120) and it was the perfect colour match. the foundation is really great - wears for about the normal length of a day/night out, and has a lovely semi-matte finish. the coverage is medium-full but can be thinned out with moisturiser/a damp blending sponge. I have light skin and I usually find it hard to get a foundation that matches me well, but this is fantastic. I would recommend for most people, but this foundation may sit in any fine lines, so may not be suitable for older skin. I use it with the silicone primer and it glides on lovely.
    It’s quite nice
I like the way it looks on the skin, it gives a good medium coverage and it goes light enough for me and I’m very pale. However, it really clings to dry patches.
    Just what I wanted!
I have tried all different types of foundations and have never been successful. Not only is this foundation at an amazing price but is also perfect for my combination skin and has great coverage. It's really buildable however I would recommend buying a shade lighter than you'd think as mine was tiny darker, although the description sounded perfect.
Hmm....colours are darker than you think
Ok so, I have bought two of these: one 2.1Y and a 3.0Y and they are both off in colour for me. The 3.0Y appears dark orange on me so I went and purchased the 2.1Y which is slightly darker in shade and could work, but wrong in the undertone: It is very yellow. I am of mixed race heritage and both of these are quite dark on my skin. In other foundations, I am an NC40 in MAC, 300-310 in Fenty and Dulce de Leche in Huda if that helps anyone. The consistency is quite nice and it does give a nice coverage. I have oily/combo skin and have had severe acne in the past and do have a few scars which it did cover up after two layers. I would say it is buildable, but as for longevity, I cannot comment as the colour was farrrrr off for me I didn't have it on long. I would say after powder it would give a fair amount of hold but I did not put it to the test as it gave me an Oompa-Loompa look ha!
The best yet cheapest foundation ever
This foundation is everything in one. It was perfect when I picked a few shades. It is predominately yellow undertoned which was perfect for me as many foundations out there don't have a large in-between shade range. For reference, I am shade 3.0 Y and I love the undertone this foundation has. For another shade reference, I am nc42 in mac, 330 in Fenty, shell beige in Estee Lauder double wear. It glides on like a dream does not feel heavy and I don't need to keep repurchasing as it lasts me a while. I have combination skin and works fine on my problem areas without making them noticeable. It is flawless and a little goes a long way! Holy grail product.
He comprado ambas y me han gustado mucho las dos.The ordinary no defrauda,es estupenda. ***I bought both and I liked both. The ordinary does not disappoint, it's great.***
    Beautiful finish
I bought the shade 1.0 NS, and I am VERY pale but I have yellow undertones. I didn't think this shade would match, but its coverage isn't too thick that I can get away with a shade or two difference. My face looks FLAWLESS when I wear this, doesn't exaggerate my pores or emphasize my dry spots. It just gives me a perfect, slightly dewy look. Would definitely repurchase again. Works best with a beauty blender.
    Love it...
Everyone must know the lovely Wayne Goss MUA from YouTube if you haven't then you must be living under a rock lol. He's the one who raved so much about it that I just had to try it for myself. Yes...he's right, it is AMAZING. I've tried both formulations and both are wonderful. However, it did take me a while to be truly satisfied with the correct shade for my skin undertone. Finally using shade 2.0YG and very pleased with how it looks. You can, however, mix the shades to find your perfect shade and skin tone and I actually purchased at least 5 different shades to get the right one for me. I mixed a lighter shade with a darker shade and vice versa just so that I didn't waste my money and have them stuck in a drawer unused so it's fine to do this in my opinion. This foundation is high end in quality and performance but with a fantastic price point to be able to experiment. If you do find you've bought the wrong shade then swop with a friend and let them have the experience of using. I am a makeup junkie and always on the lookout for new products to try and this comes highly recommended. Oh...and one other thing I am 65 years old and got my Granddaughter on it too. Love to all.xx
    Ordinary foundation
    Best result!
    Terrible for pale skin
I brought 2 of the lightest shades very fair 1.0 and light 1.0 to see which one would better suit me but none of them did. Both were really orange when I applied them. I would definitely not recommend to anyone who has pale skin.
    Not for me
Ordered the Medium Y but I looked orange. I'm naturally quite tanned but the yellow undertone is too much. I also found it difficult to apply.
    2.1 Y Medium - I love it!
I really love this foundation. It stays on all day on my oily skin, it doesn't break me out and it gives me amazing coverage (I always use a primer underneath my foundation and set it though). This shade is extremely yellow though, at first I thought it was completely wrong for me but once I used it I made it work and fell in love with it.A little bit goes a long way! For that price, I will repurchase again and again.
    Good for the price
This foundation is great for me. I like the coverage, it's a perfect match for my skin and it's very easy to apply (I use 2.1 Y Medium). However, buying foundation online can be difficult as you can't try it before you buy it. I bought the 3.1 R Dark thinking the picture shown was my shade but it was overpoweringly red for my skin tone.
    2.0 N
After reading mixed reviews I was particularly concerned about the foundation 'breaking up', appearing cakey and not covering properly. However, after having tried it I have to say I love it! Coverage level is very nice, it looks so much more natural, and it feels very light on the skin. So far I am very happy with it. The risk of ordering the right shade online paid off, but at this price, you can't really go wrong. (I applied after moisturising my skin, no setting powder or spray and found it stayed on just fine. My skin was also less oily than usual throughout the day)
Honestly one of the best foundations I've tried; doesn't make me look oily or like it's caked on. Can't complain about the price for once either.
    Not great
I really wanted to love this because I love the ordinary & their products, plus the price is great, so I tried really hard to make it work for me. But it just doesn't work for me no matter what I do. This goes on really beautiful at first and you get all excited that you've found "the one" .....the problem is that before I've even finished the rest of my makeup, it's starting to separate and slide off my face. I have normal/ dry skin, which is currently extremely dry due to the cold weather. However this foundation makes me look really oily, I just don't understand this at all! I've never had his happen with a foundation before. I tried this daily for two weeks with various different moisturisers & primers underneath and various setting powders/ sprays on top. Nothing works for me. I won't be repurchasing.
    Pleased with this
I’ve been dying to try this. It gives good coverage without looking too heavy, stays on well throughout the day however it tends to break up a little around my mouth and nose after 12 hours wear. I use shade 2YG Light Medium which is a very good match for me. It’s easy to apply and a little goes a long way.
    Love this!
Great (but not full) coverage so looks very natural. It makes my skin feel soft and smooth, I'm 47 and ageing effects are taking their toll so smooth skin is a challenge. My skin is dry/normal. I apply using my fingers, over elf poreless primer and set using a mixture of hd/rose powder applied with a beauty sponge to apply. It lasts all day. I've had no trouble with foundation break up or slipping.
    Coverage foundation
I bought this in shades 2yg and 1.2yg, I am yellow toned and tanned, and I have always struggled to find something that suits me, without spending a lot. I was SO looking forward to receiving this as it sounded perfect for what I wanted, lightweight with coverage, yellow undertone, long lasting. I tried it, I loved it at first, but I noticed something was off. It has a grey cast to it, which I wasn’t expecting, both shades have this. I then took a picture with flash and turned into a ghost! So disappointing because I had seen reviews saying it didn’t have flashback but it most definitely does. I would look past the flashback, but the grey cast looks odd in natural day light. I don’t think I will be using the foundation again.
    Went blotchy and dry
Had to put on 2 layers for a decent coverage, could still see redness etc, wouldn’t say very good coverage at all. Normally other brands will come off my forehead throughout the day, never my nose, however, I looked in the mirror 3 hours after applying and my nose was bare and looked really dry! However good point was it was a really good colour match I got 1.1n and no orangeness at all
    Blistered and Burnt
I bought this foundation after seeing loads of YouTubers raving about it. The first day I got it I was so excited to try it out, I was quite surprised about the coverage as it was better than I thought however less than 3 hours later it has separated across my whole face, I got home to take it off and whilst washing my face with the makeup remover I always use, my face started to burn, god I nearly cried it was so sore. I then discovered my face had blistered and burned due to this foundation and I am now on the 5th day where I cannot put any product on my face without it burning and my skin is now peeling off. Oh and it also broke me out in cystic acne. Do not recommend this to anyone.
    Blotchy but full coverage
I found this very hard to apply. I've tried it with both of the ordinary primers, and on it's own. It applies extremely blotchy (refuses to apply between my eyebrows and the tops of my cheeks), and clings to dry spots. where it does stick, the coverage is great.
    1.1 N Fair
I bought this due to the price and hearing good things about the brand. Foundations are hard to fit with my skin - I have a lot of creasing and lines, but I was glad to discover that this one does not settle into these lines very quickly, and once set doesn't tend to at all. I have noticed that it can become flaky around my nose after a long day and stay there, even once I've taken it off. Overall, it's a lovely product and has a buildable coverage.
    Amazing coverage!!
Got so many good reviews so I wanted to try the foundation out for myself. Bought both this and the serum foundation. Got shade in 0.1N which is like lightest shade and it matched perfectly. I have dry skin and the coverage foundation was amazing. Preferred more than serum foundation, say it has about medium coverage but I like it that way. Doesn't have a lid but it does have a pump where you twist it to right so it doesn't pump out any product. Small bottle but perfect for travelling and its really cheap which makes it even better. Great price for great foundation. Became my new favourite foundation. I use it with the Nars creamy concealer.
Perfect Colour Match for Pale Skin
I brought 0.1P and I have very pale skin to the point I have been recently using a Korean brand BB cream as I can't find any uk based make up that matches my skin tone. This one was perfect. Still working what to put on underneath as a base (as going through a skin care overhaul) but as long as you are using a moisturiser and a primer this makeup turns out quite nicely and for £5.90 you can't go wrong for a medium coverage foundation.
I was super excited to try this. I even purchased 3 shades to ensure I could use it all year round. 2.0N is a perfect match for Fenty 190 btw. It applied really well with medium coverage and a dewy finish. Had I found my new holy grail foundation? Unfortunately not. Within a couple of hours, my face seemed super oily, then by evening my chin had erupted in small mountains. Into the bin it goes...
    Amazing match and coverage
As we all know matching your foundation online is a task and half so I think the colour swatch chart they give you is so helpful! I have a more yellow toned skin tone but I went for a neutral tone (2.0 N) and it couldn't have matched it any more perfectly. I think the pump is cool and unique and you don't even need a lid as it open and closes with a twisty cap. The bottle is small and travel friendly but still get as much product as my Clinique perfect foundation which is in a big glass container. I highly recommend this product as the coverage is out of this world for the price! For me it beats some high end up foundations I have payed for in the past. I will be ordering lighter colours to conceal with and will most likely buying it again and again.
    So Impressed
I read a review for this foundation in Cosmo magazine and at such value I thought it was worth a try. I've wore ester lauder double wear shell foundation for years. It's the only foundation that lasts all day and is the right colour for me so I was a little sceptical buying this foundation but it hasn't disappointed. The colour is an exact match for my skin (which is unusual as I'm so pale with cool tones) and it has pretty much the same staying power as double wear. I've been recommending this product to my friends and I'll definitely continue buying it.
    Great stuff
I have been using this foundation for a few weeks now having switched from Estée Lauder Double Wear Light. It's a lovely blendable consistency and buffs in well with a brush - feels very light compared to the ELDW. The coverage is excellent and it lasts relatively well on my super oily skin. For evenings out or big events I would probably still reach for the ELDW but this is definitely now my everyday go-to.
I got the shade 1.0p after doing some research - perfect match for me. (I get NW13 MAC/1.N l'oreal true match). I'd say it gives a medium coverage. I like the packaging apart from it gets dirty easily and has no lid, but luckily it has a locking mechanism.
    Don’t bother
For the price it’s okay but the texture doesn’t work well with a sponge. I bought a neutral undertone and was surprised at the level of orange! There are better foundations out there, so give this one a miss.
    Love this foundation
I’ve been looking for a decent everyday foundation and this is it! It gives an even look that matches my skin colour perfectly.
    Good dupe for me
I bought this hoping it would be a good dupe for the Glossier skin tint and for me I would say it's pretty good. It does highlight dry patches so exfoliating and moisturising is definitely needed. The shade I chose was a good match and at this price I don't begrudge buying a shade or two darker for summer.
    Clings to dry patches
REALLY emphasises slightly dry patches on your face, I don’t even have dry skin and always moisturise well before applying it abs it makes my face look like the Sahara desert.
    Great value
I'd say it's a medium to full coverage (does not bring out wrinkles you didn't know you had). Good colour match. It feels a bit oily (which is great when some hydration is needed) but you certainly want to use some good setting powder on top because otherwise once you go over your face with the finger it stains and comes off very easilly. Good setting powder on top and it's all good. For that price, it's great.
    Good Foundation
I purchased this foundation in the colour 3.1 Y dark and the foundation matched my skin perfectly. Gives great buildable coverage yet looks and feels natural and lightweight on the skin. I would purchase again and recommend to others.
I love the product but it’s too light for me, I wish companies would send out samples to try then it would be easier to get right colour. Sure in the right colour this would be fantastic.
Ugh, hate it! I read all the reviews and thought this would be amazing. So disappointed. The colour matched really well. I could tell how it was going to end whilst applying it! From a distance, my skin looked flawless. Close up was a different tale. It was horrendously dry and sat caked in my pores and fine lines. Steer well clear from this if you have dry skin. I’ve handed this down to my daughter. It’s very mattifying but doesn’t mention anywhere that it’s matte.
    Great foundation
Love this product, I got both the full coverage and the serum. I got shade 3.0Y and I was so surprised at how well it matched my skin tone. Don’t dry out my skin and stayed on all day.
Good colour match not full coverage
I bought a 1.1p and I love this foundation for everyday. It has a nice natural finish with a slight glow. It wouldn’t cover any acne but would help with redness in my opinion. I found it lasted ok I am a face toucher and it lasted on my skin similar to most of my other cream foundations. Overall I would recommend this foundation if you have untextured skin and like a satin finish.
I love this foundation and the price is so affordable. It’s brilliant and perfect shade for me.
Love my foundation looks great and leaves skin feeling so smooth
    Oxide,cake face,
I bought this seeing the good reviews on YouTube but it's horrible as it oxidized so much on skin and my face looked cakey for some reason. I have combination skin. Better to buy a high end foundation then regretting.
    I like it
Although it's not quite what I was expecting, I like it. I wouldn't call it coverage foundation but you can build it to give quite good coverage. Still not full coverage. However it feels nice on your face and doesn't dry into the cracks in your face and doesn't cake. I would give it 5 if it offered a touch more coverage.
    First time user
I’ve been recommended this foundation by a friend so had to try it out! I absolutely love it I bought 4 bottles, 3 different shades to get the best one for me and one for my tan! they’re all fab! A tiny bit goes a long way! It’s really good coverage! I’m definitely converted!
    Separates after a while
Not hugely impressed with this foundation, I bought it after hearing good things but I haven't been as impressed. It goes on quite nicely though coverage isn't the best, however when I have had it on a couple hours it separates and slides off even with it being powdered and set.
I don’t usually write reviews, but I am for this product. I am very picky with foundations, thought I would give this one a try as the price was so reasonable. It has really good coverage, goes onto the skin nicely and blends. I love it!!
    Great product
This is a great little product for the price. It’s definitely a medium coverage as opposed to full but it’s perfect for me. Suits a range of ages (I’m 41 and my 13-year-old niece loved it too so I bought her one too).
    Good for the price
Has a good coverage and wears fair during a full day. The 1.2 Light shade works pretty well for my fair skin. Note that after a full day you will see signs of creasing around the eyes, upper lip and chin. I think it is great value for money, however there are more comfortable and skin like foundation out there (with a price to match, like Dior and Chanel).
    Not longlasting
I bought this foundation hoping it would look good on an acne-prone skin but after 3-4 hours it’s starting to separate... for a normal to dry skin I think it would be perfect for everyday use because it has really good ingredients. More than that, the colour is perfect (1N) and it didn’t oxidize on me.
    Ordinary foundation
I cannot get enough of this foundation I luv it not heavy at all just sits on my skin so nicely
    Great value for money
Been wanting to try this for a long time and I am so glad that I did. I used a MAC colour matching chart online which I found to be accurate. I wear nw22 and matched to shade 2.0p very well. I found coverage to be full but builable. My skin still looked like skin with one thin application for daytime but evened out skintone well. I like my foundation dewy and haven't found this to be too drying. Stayed well all day. Great price and would be perfect build up to fuller coverage for a night out too
I’m not the type to write reviews but this one deserves one. What an AWFUL product! I am to blame partly for expecting amazing outcomes out of something so cheap. Every single pore is visible even though I used primer, when I looked in the mirror after only 4 hours of wearing the product it looked like my face was dipped in oil! I looked for foundation that is suitable for oily skin and this came up as one of the options. Horrible product, do not recommend!!
    Made my skin look worst
It sticks to dry patches, emphasizes pores, and just doesn't look good on my skin at all
    The Ordinary is Extraordinary
I commented on a friend's foundation a while back and she recommended The Ordinary. I ordered 2 shades and I've been using them ever since. A number of people have commented about my skin since I started wearing them. I love it.
    Good Tint
Very watery and clings to patches of dryness on my skin. I only use it to mix with my lighter foundation when I have fake tan on.
    Needs improvement
Good medium coverage. Separates in bottle, highlights dry patches, cakey on the T zone after 30 minutes, unfortunately the foundation needs development. Also increased blocked pores after using for longer period. I love The Ordinary brand and use many products regularly but definitely not this one.
    Ordinary foundation
I have been using this product for over a year and think it’s the best for coverage which lasts all day at a fantastic low price.
    Great foundation.
    Save Yourself!
This is the worst foundation I've ever used. Oxidized to a pale orange after ten minutes of wear, and by half an hour it settled into fine lines and any imperfections on the skin. If you have mild acne or dry skin, this accentuates your flaws. I can make a foundation work usually, and I really wanted to believe in The Ordinary because I LOVE their other products, but this went straight in the bin after the third use. Friends even commented that my skin looked bad - in a caring, honest, girl-you-look-f%*ked-up way I'd expect from those closest to me. After using Too Faced Born This Way and then L'Oréal True Match (when I had less money) for years, I was excited to use a product that had the same visual appeal as dream matte mousse. I purchased the new Pixi foundation which is an actual medium-high buildable foundation that doesn't damage your skin.
    The ordinary
Love it love it, was a bit sceptical because of the price. I have to say its amazing. Not ordinary at all
    Nice product
This foundation is really good, coverage is grand. I have combination skin and it struggled a little with the dryness on my chin but cannot complain about it.
    The best I've used!
I can't rate the ordinary serum foundation enough! I am a makeup artist & it suits all skin types. Highly recommend!
    Great foundation
Great foundation. Good coverage and buildable as well. Unfortunately I picked up the wrong colour as 2.1Y was way too dark for me but that was my fault. Ordering a lighter shade so I can mix it.
Works better with some products than with others
I use this foundation on top of Herbivore oil & Hourglass primer and it works beautifully. However, it can get cakey with other products, especially SPF, so be warned that you might have to give it a few tries before you hack it. Wonderful for blending with other shades. Good coverage.
    Pleasantly surprised...
I wasn't expecting anything great but here I am writing a review, which I never do. I don't like to wear heavy or full coverage foundations, as I like to feel as though my skin can breathe. This fulfills that requirement for me. I find it build-able and pump small amounts (never a full pump) to build up the coverage. It is clearly very affordable and although it's a small bottle, I don't feel like I am using loads. Yet I like that once I've got a tan, I can easily swap my current one out for a darker one without feeling like I'm wasting a product or my money. I always wear a primer, so I haven't had issues with it's durability and find that it lasts throughout my 14 hour days. I have noticed a tiny bit of oxidation on my nose, but not every day and I have been using this product for a week. It's super comfortable on the skin and an all-rounder for those who prefer lightweight and build-able foundations. I also found the colour matched me very well and I like the thin consistency.
At first it looks perfect with a really good coverage (definitely not full, more like medium) and nice colour (1N) but after like 1 min it starts oxidize and become orange and darker for 2-3 tones so it's impossible for me to wear it. Maybe darker shade don't have this problem
    ordinary foundation
Such a good product, good coverage and feels light, great range of colour tones.
    Good foundation
    Nice foundation!
    Love it
    It's pretty good, recommend it.
I love this foundation, the coverage is perfect for my normal to dry skin and the colour Ideal, it's amazing value.... and also if anyone is interested I've also been using skincare from The Ordinary for quite some time now and have seen an improvement in the texture of the skin especially around my eyes, helping keeping lines at bay, definitely worth trying the retinol and other acids.
    Great value for money
It's a great foundation for day to day. It doesn't hold on me very well, breaks up and cracks by the end of the day. But i still like it if i'm not wearing it for a full 12 hours, worth it for the small price tag.
Really great foundation. Really good quality
    Great, but not named correctly
Great foundation, looks natural and doesn't feel heavy heavy on the skin. I went for the 'yellow gold' tone, which is more of beige/neutral undertone.
    Amazing !
Best coverage foundation. Feel so light on your skin!! I’m a MUA and it’s all I use!!
Great coverage, and the bottle lasts forever! Excellent value for money!
    Love it
This foundation's amazing - really great for sensitive, dry skin. The colour was a great match.
    I love it
It’s perfect, matte and long lasting!
    Really good
Really good coverage stays on and looks flawless! Could do with a lid because the excess around the pump gets on other products in my makeup bag.
    Best foundation
It is a great foundation, but the lightest color is not light enough during winter unfortunately.
Low in price but stays on all day
I wanted to try the ordinary brand and I was happy to see pretty much everything is so low in price - I picked up this foundation dubious because it was so cheap, but it’s full coverage and lasts all day for me (with concealer and powder etc) really would recommend and I would re-buy once mine runs out.
    Great foundation
I love this foundation. It works great with my oily skin. However, I think it's not working with a beauty blender, but I can reach a pretty finish with a brush.
    Good coverage and good value
The foundation is of a good value and is on par with some of the high end products. The foundation provides good coverage and can be built up. The downside of it is that the foundation oxidises and does get oily, despite having applied pressed powder and a matte setting spray alongside.
    Ok but
I bought this foundation for use in the summer because it is very light and then because I needed a darker foundation on tanned skin and I did not want to spend much ... I took the color 3.1 because 2.1 is too light ... The problem is that but the 3.1 is really very red ... It did not make me crazy but in itself, it is a good product
    Amazing in every way
The Ordinary foundations have been the first where I've found literally perfect matches for both my summer and winter skin tones without having to mix together different shades. I love that this range has different tones within each colour, and the coverage is very good – I only use one pump for even, full coverage, and it lasts all day. All this for less than £10!? A total bargain. One thing I would note is that I initially went into their store to test the colour, but once I knew what colour I needed, I have been re-purchasing online.
This foundation is a really good coverage for the price and I cannot complain at all! I have combination skin, however, this product does enhance my oily areas so plenty of powder is necessary when using this!
    I love this product
I love this product as the price is very cheap but the product is very good. I always order from Cult Beauty, not only for me but also for my friends and family. Thank you so much Cult Beauty, your prices are very good and items are sent very well.
    The Ordinary Coverage Foundation
Really didn’t like this foundation. I tried because I’d heard good things and the price isn’t high, so I thought why not, I might discover my new favourite and save myself some money. I bought the wrong shade for me which was my own fault, but the shades are difficult to judge online. I used it anyway to test the formula and hated it immediately. It looked ridiculously cakey on my dry skin and exaggerated all dryness and texture. I do occasionally still use it mixed with other foundations to lighten them or to give myself more coverage because the coverage is great, but never on its own because of how it makes my skin look. I have no idea about the staying power on its own because I took it off immediately as my skin looked that bad, but it doesn’t alter the staying power of other foundations. If anything, it might be a good foundation mixer to have to mix with other foundations that are the wrong shade but not taking away any of the coverage that you might do with a standard foundation mixer.
    Great product!
It feels lightweight, but it covers enough. I find it very good for work and also very long lasting since I have extremely oily skin. I would repurchase!
Not good for dry skin, rubs off easily, game over if you start sweating
I guess you can't expect the world of a cheap foundation, but this just doesn't work for me, at all. I heard the serum foundation is great, so I figured I'd try this one since I need more coverage. I have dry/combination skin, and even if I'm freshly peeled and moisturised it looks patchy and flaky, and if I touch my face in any way it comes right off. This is especially a problem since I sweat easily and need to be able to blot it away, but this makes the foundation looks super patchy and it settles in my pores. Maybe if you have oily or normal skin, 0 pores, and never sweat this foundation does the job, but if you're like me, steer clear. At least it was cheap.
    I like it
Goes on well and gives great coverage. I have mature skin, slightly dry, but as long as you have a good hydrating moisturizer I've found this foundation works well for me.
    Pros and cons
I brought shade 1.1p and I love this product. Pros: easy to find your shade by selecting your undertone colour, comes in cute bottle good for travel, very cheap and worth the buy, easy to blend. Cons: I wouldn’t say this is full coverage more like a medium but I still love it anyway, cracks in my smile lines.
    Tricky consistency
This is nice enough, but if you're not used to full coverage it's a bit tricky. Like all The Ordinary products, it's quite an oily feeling and not easy to blend, especially if using a brush to apply. I've been mixing it with Niod's Photography Fluid to make it blend better. Might not buy this again.
Seen some mixed reviews on this but I was looking for a budget foundation so I can stop spending £44 a time. I wasn't convinced but it's £5 so not a major investment if it's no good. I'm 44, very pale with yellow tones, hyper-pigmentation and spider veins so it's rare a foundation leaves me feeling that confident as I have problem skin. Hence I was shelling out £44 for one which does a decent job. I bought the light yellow with gold and the silicone primer. I have to say it's the nicest my skin has looked in years. I guess it just comes down to what works for your skin and this won't be right for everyone. For me it gives adequate cover, it's light and easy to build up and the one thing I was most worried about ordering kind of "blind" online was the colour. I got lucky and it's the best match I've ever had with a foundation. My exact skin tone once blended in. The gold gives a little glow which I've topped with an absolute feather touch of powder. I'm not just surprised, I'm gobsmacked. Shame I can't share a photo!
I bought the shade 1.0 N, which was a perfect match on initial application but the foundation oxidised quickly and noticeably, at least 2 shades darker, making it unwearable for me. Coverage is medium at best and didn’t cover any marks or pigmentation.
Not for the pale / dry skinned
Bought this in shade 1.0p and on the good side, it did seem to be good, full coverage and I imagine that if you normal/oily skin then this will do the job nicely for a reasonable price. However, this was slightly too dark and yellow for my skin (I am very fair) and made me look a bit jaundiced (a lot of foundations do!). It also really flaked on my dry skin in a way that I haven’t had with other foundations, even when mixed with moisturiser. Oh well, I think it would work for a lot of people but just not me.
I was really disappointed with this foundation. It literally slides off your skin, even if you just slightly touch your face, it wipes straight away, leaving you patchy. It's also hard to blend - definitely better drugstore price foundations out there. Would not recommend.
    Worst foundation I’ve ever used
This is so drying! I don’t even have dry skin but it makes my face look so dry! The colour is nice. I can’t get over how drying it is. Coverage is okay not the best. I’ve tried mixing it with moisturiser, oil, I’ve used different brushes and sponges and it still looks disgusting.
    Not impressed with the coverage
This foundation supposed to have at least medium coverage but the coverage is very low. Shiny T zone after few hours. Ordered two shades and not using them.
    Nice texture, horrible shade
I have very oily skin and this texture works well. I also have cystic acne and scarring and the coverage is pretty good. The shades, however, are terrible. I normally wear Charlotte Tilbury magic foundation in 6 so have a medium skin tone. However, reading the reviews I decided to go lighter for this foundation so bought 1.2y, it is so orange and oxidises really badly. It’s such a shame as otherwise, it’s a great, affordable everyday foundation.
    Not sure
Hmmm not too sure about this one. Received this today and ordered shade 3.0Y. Well, 1st layer looked wishy-washy and was strangely pale. The second layer was good. The coverage was not bad but if you have areas of pigmentation or discolouration well I could see mine. But after putting it in it looked OK. So different lights in my house were showing me a different shade which was annoying! Cannot tell you if I love it, like it or hate it! But I am considering ordering the shade up 3.1Y but not sure. Not bad for the price.
    As expected for the price
For a five pound foundation it does its job, colour matches well enough but any powder applied on top disturbs the foundation itself leaving it horribly patchy. If you’re on a budget it’s fine but wouldn’t recommend otherwise steer clear.
    Fullest of full coverage
I love this foundation. It is 100% full coverage. Works well on combination skin. For the price, you can’t complain. Best full coverage foundation I’ve used yet. Shame they don’t do bigger bottles.
    Love it
First I bought the shade 2.1y its a bit too dark for me, I got combination skin, oily on the T zone dry patches on jaw and brows with yellow undertone in MAC im NC30 for that being said I was scared to order any shades G ( glow ) in it for thinking I be a grease ball in minutes so bought two shades lighter from my last purchase 1.2y because they don’t carry 2.0y they have 2.0yg, anyway so I just mix the shades 2.1y and 1.2y so create a somewhat right shade for me, I was happy with the result but my curiosity kick in so I ordered 2.0yG and im glad I did it give me a little it of a dewy finished but can easily be set by powder and I loved it so much it becomes my go to foundation, will totally recommend. I'm MAC NC30 — the ordinary 2.0YG I hope they will make 2.0Y without the G, I would definitely try it. This foundation is medium to full coverage blends very easy and for my skin condition last at least 6-8 hours before a touch-up and it wears really nicely. FIY — N - neutral undertones P - pink undertones Y - yellow undertones G - glow The smaller the number the lighter the shades and as higher the shades go darker, I hope you find this review helpful.
    The ordinary foundation
I’m just about to order my second bottle after the last one lasted 4 months. I mean wow. My foundation never lasts that long lol. Even though it doesn’t come with a lid you can lock the pump in place so that when travelling no accidents happen and the coverage is amazing. I don’t think I’ll go for any other foundation again
    Gave me cystic acne
The colour 1.0 is so perfect for me. It is the palest shade of foundation I could ever find in the affordable range and it does not oxidise on my very oily skin. Unfortunately, I struggle with cystic acne and my skin was pretty good before I started using it and then it got back to bad cystic acne around my jawline, on the sides of my cheeks. around my mouth and n my forehead. I also had a little trouble blending it with a brush. A sponge is way better, but it was still streaky. At the end of the day, the foundation would just sit on the top of my skin, which kind of got even more oily. I wanted to love it so badly and tried to make it work for 2 weeks. So sad.
I love this foundation. I always used Estée Lauder DW but was looking for a cheaper alternative and was recommended this by a friend- I literally do not notice the difference. My skin is very oily in my t zone and I have large pores on my cheeks- the foundation covered most of this and baking does the rest. I wouldn’t use the foundation without baking/priming. I usually use Smashbox photo ready primer but now I use W7 prime magic and the foundation sits well on both. I wouldn’t use another foundation!
The silicone primer is fantastic. But be cautious when choosing the foundation. I bought two bottles of 2.1 which said medium with yellow tones - when it arrived it was almost dark tan/orange. The colour does not resemble what it shows online.
I love this foundation. Have always had a problem finding my shade. I'm so glad I found this one that matches perfectly with no flashbacks. Will definitely buy more.
2.1 Y Medium is definitely NOT medium
I ordered the above shade on the Coverage Foundation without reading the comments, specifically Miss B's where she states this is almost dark tan/orange. It does not in any way resemble the swatch shown online, it IS a dark tan/orange. I am a standard medium with olive tones and this made me look like Donald Trump. Straight in the bin.
    Good foundation and price point
I have ordered this foundation in the shade 1.2 y .normaly this colour is light for me but most youtuber says that it oxidizes so I selected light shade and it was a perfect match for me. I have normal to oily skin and this foundation controls my T zone oil for some time but not very long time. At the price point, this foundation is very good. Thanks to Cult Beauty for providing this brand in our country.
    Doesn't suit for dry skin
I have really tried to make this foundation work with my skin but nope. I tried different moisturizers and primers but the foundation looked always patchy, uneven and it would grease and slide off during the day. If you have dry skin, don't buy this one.
I was kinda sceptical to try this foundation having heard mixed reviews, but omg I'm hooked. In terms of shade guide, i wear an NW25/30 so I ordered a 1.2 and 2.0 and mix them depending on how tanned I am. I have oily skin so need a matte foundation, which, whether you spent £4 or £40, usually translates to cakey and heavy feeling on the face. This foundation feels lighter than a bb cream while giving me a flawless coverage that lasts all day. I apply using a Beauty Blender and only needed 1.5 pumps to cover my whole face. Thoroughly recommend this foundation and I will be reordering different shades for my clients as I am a MUA.
So shocked how amazing this is I’ve tried every. Top brand and this is my fave and the coverage is AMAZING.
    So good
Really impressed with this foundation, applied seamlessly and feels weightless on the skin. Would definitely recommend!! If you have oily skin then it’s really good, took hardly any time to blend!!
    “Very fair”??!
Got the colour 1.0 Natural, “very fair”, well it’s not, the colour is horrible, come out of the bottle looking okay but I wouldn’t say it’s ‘very fair’. It oxidises in a matter of seconds to a horrible orange shade. The bottle is pretty nice, smaller than I expected tbh, and there’s no lid for the bottle it’s just the pump which is a bit silly for travelling, or having it in a makeup bag in general. The coverage is very good though. Definitely wouldn’t buy again.
    Good but not great
I read all the reviews and was excited about this product, I ordered 1.2N and when it came I have to say that it was a fantastic colour match for my skin, I used my porefessional primer and put on my foundation, it went on easy, blended well and looked good. After about 3-4 hours I checked it and it had separated slightly so I decided to wash it off, took ages to wash off and had to cleanse twice. Today I used my Smashbox Primer and out the foundation on, it was harder to blend today and after an hour of wearing my glasses it had all separated on my nose and I was left with horrible looking make up. Tomorrow I'll try it without any primer and see how it looks but if it separates again then it will be a bummer.
    Love The Ordinary but ..
I know they used a team of scientists to develop this — but not dermatologists apparently. The color slips off your face and it's not really covering properly. By the end of the day, it's a big mess. Gets stuck in your dry spots and slips on the oily parts...so no.
The only good thing about this foundation is the price, and having very fair foundations with a yellow undertone (very rare). However, I have oily skin, and as soon as I added powder it looked very dry and cakey. After only a few hours, I started to get very oily and the foundation begun to break up, and blotting and adding powder wasn't able to salvage it. This made me look no less and horrific, and has the quite impressive ability to make me look both greasy and very dry. To top it off, it gave me an allergic reaction after wearing it for a few days. Never again.
    Very Dark
I used Findation.com to find which shade was my match. I'm a 4.5 Illamasqua Skin Base so was matched with 2.0 N however it's really dark on my skin so has to be mixed with a lighter foundation. Aside from that the foundation is OK, especially when you're on a budget. It works on my skin which is quite oily, but I do need to use a lot of powder on top. I've gone back to Illamasqua, but may buy a lighter shade to use every now and then for the price. I don't really get the hype myself, but if you are going to try it, definitely get a shade or two lighter than you're matched with online.
This foundation I found to last for the 12-14 hours that I wear it for and I have very oily skin and I find that most foundations crease in my smile lines and separate on my nose but this foundation is perfect, the only thing that I don’t like as much though is that it’s called the coverage foundation but it doesn’t cover up my freckles :( but I WOULD RECOMMEND.
    Pleasantly surprised!
Coverage is unreal semi-matte finish covers up any acne scare etc, great shade range I use 2.0N I’m usually a nc20-25 in mac! I did find it oxidised a little but not as bad as some foundations x
    It’s ok
Coverage is really good for the price, but my oh my did it oxidise! After application it ended up 3 shades darker and I looked like an orange. It also pretty much oxidised instantly. I plan on buying the lightest shade available so that when it oxidises it might actually be my colour.
    Good but oxidises.
This product is so good with dry skin, it does not mattify on the skin unless you use powder for it. A couple of things that I did not like about this product is that it oxidises really quickly on the skin so I'd advise buyers to do your make up as fast as possible. Another concern is that it does not have full coverage unless you put on another layer on. However, it does not look cakey when you do and leaves a light feeling on the face. Over all, I really like this foundation as it is hard to find a foundation for dry skin.
    No words....
Amazing cheap cheerful and amazing! 2/3 pumps for my face and I don’t have a thick layer so gone through pretty quick! So cheap I don’t mind x
    not for me
Heard so many good reviews about this foundation so I've been desperate to try it for ages as I wanted something a bit more affordable than mac studio fix. I was so impressed when I first applied it. It goes on nicely, the coverage is unreal, the shade was perfect, and the finish is pretty good. The only downside for me, and it's a pretty big downside, is that it makes me break out really bad so I can't use it. So frustrating!!
    Loved it!
    Bitchin' Everyday Foundation
I've got 3D acne and an oily t-zone, which is sometimes also a bit dry and flaky due to the medicated products I use. I apply this in the mornings with a sponge (sometimes after the ordinary's fluid primer), and it's such a good match for my skin tone that I don't need to cover my whole face. I've been using this for three months, now. This won't remove 100% of your redness, (I use Nars radiance concealer on my more vivid blemishes beforehand), and this isn't something to slather on, as a thick layer does degrade on your face. However, if you want even but not unnaturally perfect looking skin, especially in bright daylight or harsh office lighting, then two light layers of this over a concealer can deliver that no matter what your skin texture. It will fade after about 7 hours, but in a way that doesn't settle into dry skin patches or pores, and is easy to reapply on top of. This product also doesn't dry down very fast, so I use a setting spray on top. Pros: Perfect match, won't stick to dry skin, non-comedogenic, lovely texture (not flat matte - more of a velvet), price point, pump works well, photographs evenly. Cons: not fullest coverage, can't be used in thick layers. doesn't dry down for about an hour.
    Next level
On to my 3rd bottle of this and I absolutely love it. Light weight and full coverage, and I’ve never found it to be drying or oily. I use 2.1 Y and it’s the perfect colour match for me. Now I’ve been using this, I wouldn’t go back to anything else.
    Really good
As a very fair person with neutral undertones, it is very difficult to find a foundation that matches. 1.0N is perfect for me, whereas the lightest shades of the most foundation have pink undertones and the next shade up is too dark for me, this was amazing. The coverage is really good and once set with a mattifying powder it does not budge.
One of my favourite foundations. If you're a MAC NC42-NC44 then get the shade 3.0Y. It blends to perfection and the coverage is full despite it being so lightweight on the skin.
    Not for acne prone skin
The feels and coverage is ok. But, it broke me out like crazy. If you have sensitive/acne prone skin, please stay away from this foundation. Luckily the price is cheap so I can just throw it away. So frustrated.
Bought this foundation and in the first time ever the right shade. Looks great for 15 minuets then starts to separate on my nose and chin. Clings to my dry forehead and cheeks. Coverage is great and colour but formula wise. No. Will bin once I find a better one.
I had been recommended this foundation by a friend, I tried it once and it’s left my face painful, burning and blistered. I do NOT have sensitive skin, never have. Do not buy this product, this will affect your skin and I can not put any product on my face due to this. The price really gives it away.
    Love it
Ordered the 1.0 NS - I have fair skin and loved the sound of silver in the mix - it really suits my skin and very light blonde hair and sits far less in my 51 year old skins admittedly few wrinkles ( I have looked after my skin and also have good genes luckily) really love this !!!
    Coverage Foundation
This is a great foundation amazing for the priceless, I bought this after watching Wayne Goss review. His colour match was spot on.
Just put this on the first time. My skin is in a good condition, I used a primer and a setting spray and it started caking after about 15 minutes. Awful.
Amazing foundation best I’ve ever had and I’ve tried hundreds!
Really great foundation. I used to use one religiously and another company stopped production so I was left with nothing. I then tried so many and none were up to any standard at all. I came across The Ordinary and thought it was worth a try. Unlike other liquid foundations, it blends so well and goes on so smoothly during application. It covers fully but still looks natural, lasts all day, does not need topping up at all and even better the price is so cheap. Amazing product I recommend to everyone!
    Not for oily skin
Don’t use this product if you have oily skin. This product was sliding off my skin within an hour after application. I tried using more setting powder and it just went patchy. When you first apply it, the coverage is good, so if you don’t have oily or combination skin, I expect it’s a nice product
    Love It
I have really oily skin so foundations usually slips off my face if I don’t make it stick with powder so I just stopped using them. I bought this product as I have purchased some of their other products and loved them so I thought why not give their silicone primer, their foundation and their concealer a go to see if these ones are any good and I’m in love! It stays all day, it doesn’t move around or cause any more spots! The price is great, you can get the primer, foundation and concealer for less than a high-end foundation.
    Really Happy
I love this foundation! I use the shade 1.2P, I’m a pale person with anaemia and it makes me look healthy without being too much. I have dry skin and I’ve had no issues with this foundation going patchy etc. Really happy with it and a great price!
Nice coverage and can still layer on top. Great colour match, I essentially picked the closest one and it worked out great. I have combination skin and it’s perfect doesn’t dry out or go too dewy.
    Not for oily skin...
I decided to give this foundation a go because of the low price and and I have to say that choosing a colour was simple (1.2P) and the colour is great match for me, nice application with a beauty blender but it does NOTHING for oil control and I mean nothing, I tried setting it with powder and a fixing spray and my face still looked really oily after a couple of hours, and I’m working from home atm, so I don’t think this foundation would survive a trip to the office! I was able to blot the foundation and it looked ok... but I don’t really want to have to worry about having a shiny face by 10am! The Ordinary, please do a version for oily skin!
    Not for me
This formula is very watery. Seemed to emphasise my pores and cake up.
    The ordinary foundation
I love this foundation. I use it alongside the primer and the staying power is impressive. I found that you could build it up and get a better coverage if required. I’ve got olive skin and with the nice weather, my face has tanned so I got a deeper brown and it didn’t disappoint. Fantastic little make up addition for any make up bag.
    The Ordinary Coverage Foundation
Colour match was good and didn’t notice much oxidising, but it applied quite thin and patchy. Also found it didn’t last very long on my face, and foundations ALWAYS last on me. When I applied powder on top I felt like it was almost swiping away the product.
    Good price
I love this foundation, it is great coverage and so reasonable price wise.
I wish I could say this was amazing. I can't.
I'm a big Ordinary Skin Care fan. Huge. I use their products daily and cannot rave about them enough. So naturally, I tried out the foundation. It's a fraction of the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation I've been wearing for over a decade and many reviews I've read claim it's just a good. I'd have been daft not to try it, but I really wish I hadn't bothered. It does not have good coverage as advertised. Layering also doesn't work. It gets a lot darker as the day goes on, but luckily that only happens to the foundation that has managed to stay on my face. I'd read reviews from fans saying it works well with the spreadability ordinary primer, so I tried it with that. Still poor coverage and zero staying power. Others suggested the ordinary silicone primer. Equally as bad. After a few hours, I look like I have some sort of skin defect. Sorry, The Ordinary, I love that you've tried to branch out into makeup, but please stick to skincare.
    Good, but need to reapply
This is a good foundation. When you initially apply it gives great coverage and is buildable to your desired look. However, I do find that by lunchtime I need to reapply it in certain areas of my face, even with The Ordinary primer applied beforehand. I probably will repurchase as the price point is so low but don't expect it to last all day!
Brilliant Foundation really pleased with it for the price of it.
    Love this
Love this foundation, goes on really nicely and such a good coverage. I don’t have to use a lot to cover up my scars but covers them up nicely and looks quite glowy with highlighter.
I love it a perfect match.
    Surprised by the poor reviews!
I ordered this last week after reading the reviews on here and feeling pretty sceptical I thought I’d give it a go after all it’s only £5 so not the end of the world if it doesn’t work out, I could give it to a friend. I was pretty surprised at how much I loved it! The colour (2.1Y) was pretty dark which was literally the only downfall, I loved the coverage and my cream contour went on SO smooth which seems to be the downfall of a lot of foundations I try. In terms of staying power, for me it worked great, but I always apply setting powder before foundation to give it that extra grip. A powerful little bottle in my opinion and great to use if you don’t want to waste your expensive foundation!
    Adore this
I struggled to find a foundation that matches my skin tone as I have yellow undertones. The shade 2.0YG really did the trick. Over time it blends in more into your skin tone. Will defo repurchase!!!
Good formula, could have done a bit better with coverage
The ratio between price and quality is really good. The formula is good. The coverage is decent but could have been better. I am happy with my purchase, though.
The best foundation I've bought to date. buildable coverage, no wierd smell. Doesn't oxidase leaving u with an orange face. Super bendable. A little goes a long way. For less than £6 its AMAZING
    Smooth and flawless finish!
Smooth and flawless finish. Hardly any breakouts
    Good coverage and great colour
Really enjoying using The Ordinary products I was advised to take up a number of their products and then bought the foundation to try. I love the colour and the consistency and the coverage is amazing for such a thin foundation, would recommend to everyone.
The best foundation I've ever bought
I bought the 1.2 P light for my peachy complexion last week & I'm so impressed. It blends into the skin & sits there perfectly giving fantastic coverage that looks completely natural. It has even covered up my new problem perioral dermatitis without the need for concealer - no other makeup brand has been able to do that! I use it on top of their Niacinamide 10% & Zinc 1% product which is also helping control my blemished skin amazingly! I'm absolutely delighted, especially as the Ordinary are cruelty free and cheap as chips. I would however like to see the bunny logo on your products to ensure no ingredients have been bought from companies that test on animals. Keep up the great work!
    Perfect coverage
    Favourite foundation ever
My perfect match! This is so light but still has the perfect amount of coverage in my opinion. I’m totally in love.
    I love it but...
When you put this foundation on, it looks amazing. The only things I would say is the yellow undertone is quite orange but apart from that it’s really nice
    The ordinary coverage foundation
I really like this foundation, especially for its price tag. I love the way it makes my skin look flawless. However it doesn't last on me as long as I'd like it to, unfortunately, I may be too oily. Other than that it's a really good every day foundation. I will repurchase.
    Love this foundation
I do not know why this is so cheap. My face is oily in some places and dry in others and I’m really not a big fan of my freckles. This foundation is the only one I’ve found so far that matches my skin tone just right and stays on through the whole day and works with my oily ness and dryness at the same time, and I’ve tried a lot. This really should be so expensive. Everything I’ve bought from this brand has worked like a dream but this is my favourite for sure. Please buy it. X
It has light coverage and the colour is perfect.
    The best foundation, hands down.
    Light, good coverage, long lasting.
I like this foundation for light everyday wear, but like to mix it with a strobe or high lighting cream to add a nice dewy look or use it over a dewy primer. I also love using a pump of this with other fuller coverage foundations as it helps keep them a little bit lighter feeling on the skin. This foundation mixes really really well with other foundations if you like mixing them.
    Does it get any better?
I’ve been using this foundation along with The Ordinary skincare range and I’m obsessed. My skin has never looked so good, nor my foundation lasted so long!
    Unexpectedly good!
Reasonable price and amazing coverage. If used with the right basic starters, works wonders! Bought it twice!
    Oxidizes like crazy!!
I ordered the shade 1.1N, It looked ok at first but after a couple of minutes it turned a couple of shades darker and it looked really bad.. not to mention this is nowhere near a full coverage foundation.. I had higher expectations.
    Blemish free
Small price to pay for a good product.. a tiny amount offers good coverage that lasts all day and feels light on your face .. covers all blemishes.
