It’s a cold winter morning in 1971 Chamonix, France. Rain is hammering against the windows as you draw a blanket closer around you – warmed by the fire and its unmistakeably inviting crackle.
Perfectly androgynous, the Replica By The Fireplace Eau De Toilette is a snapshot in time – a bottled memory of ‘burning wood and chestnut’, made with fruity, spicy, sharp top notes of pink pepper, orange flower petals and clove oil. Like a pile of fresh firewood, the scent boasts earthy, heady middle notes of chestnut accord, gaïac wood oil and cade oil – balanced with sweet base notes of vanilla accord, Peru balsam and cashmeran, like toasted marshmallows in front of a dancing flame. Very unique
I own upwards of 100 scents in my collection but none of them smell like this one. It is super unique, and smells just as described. When I asked my mum to smell me and ask what I smell of, she said “a fire”. I haven’t worked out if I’m a fan of that feedback yet, but it is definitely a cosy smell for an evening in or out. I wouldn’t personally wear as an everyday daytime scent, but I will be looking for an everyday fresh maison Margiela perfume as they really are a ‘memory in a bottle’ - I have just purchased the discovery set to find my perfect one!

Incredible fragrance
This smells incredible. It starts off quite smokey and a little woody then soon turns sweet, and just lovely! The bottle is quite dinky for the price, so will definitely be saving it for ‘best’ - but luckily a little spritz goes a long way.

Warm & sexy
This gorgeous fragrance makes you breath in deeply and gives you the warm fuzzies. The background smoky scent is fantastic for layering with other perfumes - my favourite combination being with Mugler’s Angel. Gorgeous!
