What began as ‘an experiment in candle making’, quickly ignited the passions of those with a penchant for life’s finer things… The brainchild of two fashion veterans – Matthew Herman and David Kien – Boy Smells defies gender stereotypes and the brand, from design through to fragrance, successfully straddles the binary. Candles for every identity, Boy Smells blends typically ‘masculine’ scents with a medley of ‘feminine’ florals, resulting in candles that challenge traditional classifications and put a fresh, 21st Century spin on perfumery doctrine. Expect the unexpected…
An Italian twist on the brand’s bestselling KUSH range, ITALIAN KUSH melds the green, grassy aroma of hemp flower – the scent behind the name – with a deliciously fresh and earthy shot of citrus and basil.
Encapsulating fragrance in a coconut and beeswax blend, contained within a glossy jar with herb-coloured label, this outdoorsy, androgynous scent is lush green lawns, distilled into wax. Marrying startling notes of limoncello and pomelo with fresh basil and oregano, picture sun-warmed skin with endless fields of citrus groves on the horizon. Add the earthy, intoxicating tang of patchouli, soothing cypress, black pepper and pot leaves to the mix and you have a holiday-like fragrance tipped to transform your living room.
For optimal burning, trim wicks to a ¼” before each light to avoid smoking and overheating. Once the flame is extinguished make sure the wick is upright and centred. The first burn of any candle should be long enough for the entire top layer of wax to liquify. This will ensure an even burn for each light. Refrain from burning candles longer than three hours at a time, and never burn a candle when there is less than ¼” of wax at the base. Always protect the surface on which the candle sits.
Limoncello, Pomelo, Black Pepper, Basil, Oregano, Pot Leaves, Patchouli, Cypress.

Fresh summery smell
Burns nicely, and has a great fresh smell

Love this smell!
It has basil as one of the main ingredients and as a huge basil scent fan, I'm absolutely in love with this candle!

Amazing!
I bought this candle as an alternative to a citronella candle and I am so glad I did. The scent is delicious and fresh but comforting at the same time and I have not been bitten by a mosquito since! If you follow the instructions and look after the candle it burns right the way through! I will be buying again!

Love, love, love
This is probably one of my most favourite candles. The scent is super green, fresh, with a little bit of spice. Notes of limoncello and cannabis were the strongest, then the basil and patchouli. Would definitely use during the summer months as it’s energising. I recommend to anyone who enjoys fresh, green, slightly woody scents.

Divine kitchen scent...
I adore this. It's a perfect scent for my kitchen as it has notes of herbaceous gorgeousness. I haven't experienced any tunnelling like the other user. It probably my favourite of all the Boy Smells candles.

Nice scent, but Oh the tunnelling!!
I wasn’t sure about this candle when it first arrived so I put it aside for a bit until I’d decided to keep or pass on to a friend. In the end I smelled it again a month or so later and decided I liked it after all. Once lit though, I quickly decided that it would be the first and sadly last Boy Smells product I would purchase. The tunnelling on this thing is insane. You just can’t get an even burn and I’ll have to take my little blowtorch to it to melt the wax around the edges. Also the throw isn’t as strong as with other similarly-priced candles (Diptyque, Nest, Earl of East). Sorry Boy Smells but I’m not very impressed (and I own a LOT of candles!).
