A potent treatment for skin showing signs of ageing, The Ordinary’s Alpha Lipoic Acid 5% features a high concentration of high-purity alpha lipoic acid, which is a powerful antioxidant that can restore and renew skin when applied topically. Working to visibly improve skin’s tone and texture, this supercharged serum is an effective tool to minimise the appearance of scars, pigmentation and dullness, as well as fine lines and wrinkles. Recommended for night-time use, the water-free serum can be applied sparingly for 2-3 nights a week for a softer, smoother and more radiant complexion.
Apply 2-3 drops over the entire face a maximum of 2-3 times per week. This treatment is highly concentrated and daily use is not recommended. Do not use on irritated or sensitive skin. Can be diluted with most oils per application to reduce strength.
Notes:
1. Alpha Lipoic Acid is highly sensitive to sunlight. Please do not expose to direct sunlight. Application to face is recommended at night-time only.
2. Alpha Lipoic Acid is less stable in formulations that contain water and use of formulations of ALA containing water is highly discouraged. This formulation is water-free and may feel slightly 'oily' for a few seconds after application.
3. This formulation contains an extremely high concentration of ALA. Daily use is not recommended since such a high frequency of use can cause skin sensitivity. Please follow suggested use frequency.

pretty intense - dont use too often
this is a pretty intense acid on my skin. i think there is a reason they recommend to only use it a few times a week. it does have a nice retexturizing effect the next morning but i do feel like my skin is extra sensitive the next day after that. i know someone who uses it every night because they love how their skin looks with it but i doubt i could do this. excellent price point too!

Perfect
It’s so fantastic! The first time I tried it, it looked like foundation on my skin: skin tone was absolutely amazing. It’s not oily - I use it in my morning routine now. The best product for my skin.

Refined skin and glow
This definitely gives me a refined skin tone. I alternate with Granactive Retinol 5% in Squalene. I don’t use this as often as I should as I have to remember to only use it up to 3 times but so far so good. Has a smell but it wears off after a few minutes or so.

Great overnight results
This products is a game-changer for me. It helps me with overall texture of the skin. It gets really soft and I find that my makeup looks better. I like to use it the night before I want to have an extra good day skin or when I don't have time for anything else. I just put on this and go to sleep. Gonna buy one for my mom, its that good.

My boyfriend thinks I smell like beer every night I put it in going to bed but apart from the smell it’s a great product! My skin looks brighter and feels super soft

I didn't use it too much, so I can't say exactly, but I know my skin feels good after using it.I can't say anything about long-term results about this one, because I have to use it more, but until now no problems with it and antioxidants are always a YES!

Alpha Lipoic Acid 5%
The Original is bloody fantastic whatever the product! Found the brand by accident, I love the approach. The products smell a bit chemically but that is the nature of the ingredient. When they say no fragrance or any unnecessary ingredients that jack up the price - they mean it. I have been using a completely Original skincare routine + sunscreen. My skin has a JLo glow. Brilliant!
