THE INKEY LIST’s aim is simple: to break through beauty jargon to deliver a straightforward take on the most-wanted ingredients in skin care. Looking to up your cleansing ritual beyond just removing your make up? You’ve come to the right place! Harnessing the hydrating power of humectant (and industry heavyweight) hyaluronic acid, the brand’s Hyaluronic Acid Cleanser washes away make up, dirt and SPF while drenching skin in much-needed moisture for up to 48 hours. Yep, we knew you were going to like this one…
One for the hyaluronic acid devotees (we know there’s a lot of you!), this Hyaluronic Acid Cleanser from The Inkey List is a deeply hydrating formula that does so much more than just remove make up (although, it does that pretty darn well too!).
Gentle enough for use in both your AM and PM skin care routines, and formulated to suit all skin types — especially dry or dehydrated beauties — the lightly foaming cleanser washes away the day (make up, SPF, grime and the rest) while enveloping skin in long-lasting hydration. That’s because of a clever cocktail of a 1% inulin compound, which supports and restores your skin barrier, and a 1% hyaluronic acid complex, which has been modified to contain cationic (positively charged) groups, meaning it (and here comes the science bit) sticks to negatively charged skin — even after the cleanser has been washed off.
Gently massage a raspberry sized amount onto dampened face, eyes and neck and then rinse thoroughly. Suitable for use in your AM and PM routine.
Water (Aqua / Eau), Glycerin, Coco-Glucoside, Betaine, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Xanthan Gum, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Inulin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Dehydroacetic Acid, Polyquaternium-10, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Lecithin.

Stripping, tight skin
What a shame. I was really looking forward to this cleanser, but unfortunately it’s a waste of product. It’s drying, strips my skin of any moisture and makes it feels so tight! It’s very much on the same level as Cerave cream cleaner, if not worse.

This is perfect for my sensitive skin. No irritation and does not feel dry after use.
Report this reviewDidn’t agree with my skin
I was excited to try this cleanser as the reviews looked good but unfortunately my skin didn’t agree. I had an awful breakout that lasted three weeks - several new spots appeared daily, sometimes 10+ each day. Luckily a good facial at my local salon and patience (and my favourite cleanser coming back in stock) calmed my skin down, and four weeks later my skin is back to normal. Not a very nice experience! So be wary if you have oily skin as it may not be right for you.Â
Report this reviewSuper gentle!
I've gotten so used to cleanser being very stripping that I didn't even know it was possible for a cleanser to hydrate the skin - but Inkey has showed me that they can! I love using this cleanser in the morning as this is usually when my skin is at is driest and you can honestly feel you skin getting hydrated whilst cleansing. It does an amazing job of leaving your skin squeaky clean without that tight dry feeling. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is having issues with their moisture barrier or just has dry skin (especially during winter!).
Report this reviewnot great at all!!
Considering this was supposed to be a hydrating cleanser, my skin was left feeling stripped and tight after cleansing with this product! Ive also broken out using this cleanser, very disappointed especially as i love their oat cleansing balm.Â
Report this reviewLove it for rosacea!
I have a very dry case of rosacea and need all the hydration I can get, although my skin is obviously very sensitive. I double cleanse everyday as it's a light exfoliation without causing irritation, I can't use chemical exfoliants. I start off with cold pressed sunflower oil and i've been using this inkey list cleanser as a second cleanse for nearly a month now and it's been great (followed up with moisturiser of course), it's caused no irritation/burning/acne and adds a good amount of hydration as well. It has a slight smell but it doesn't bother me, I can't use any fragrance anyway. It seems to help manage my skin condition well.
Report this reviewouch
I used it for the first time and really liked it but as I started to incorporate it into my normal routine I noticed that my skin started to sting, go red and splotchy everytime I used it and my eczema around my eyes started to flare up, even though I haven't had an eczema flare up in years. I'm really sad that it didn't work for me because everyone else seems to love it but maybe stay away if you have eczema.
Report this reviewSo versatile, gentle but still effective
Even though I am oily combination skin I don't like overly harsh cleansers, and this was perfect. My skin felt clean, my skin wasn't dehydrated or still oily this was perfect, especially for the winter for all skin types. This feels nice on the skin and doesn't really lather too much so if that's something you like just wanted to highlight that.
Report this reviewGood, gentle cleanser
My go-to has been the Fresh soy cleanser but I’ve been looking for an alternative at a lower price point - this one is a great find! It has a very slight lather (just enough to feel like it’s ‘doing’ something) and is very gentle on the skin (no dry or tight skin feeling). Will definitely repurchase.Â
