    • Why it's Cult

When her friend was diagnosed with skin cancer, Supergoop!’s founder, Holly Thaggard, embarked on her mission to learn everything she could learn about sun and the damage it causes – which led her to think about sunscreen and why we’re reluctant to wear it. Deterred by greasy textures, chalky finishes and dubious ingredients, Holly’s objective was clear – develop a range of broad-spectrum solutions that people will want to apply. Supergoop! was born and the multi-award winning range means there’s no longer any excuse not to follow Baz Luhrmann’s advice to “wear sunscreen”.

Supergoop! Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 with Sunflower Extract Reviews

    Love it
I am not a fan of the unseen sunscreen as it's to silicone for my life. But I very much enjoy using this every morning. It's a bit greasy but I do prefer that. It smells good and applies easily.
    Finally perfect sunscreen
I have been constantly looking for sunscreen that has good ingredients, and that my skin and my make up will work with but so far one was lacking the other. This one has surprised me so much, it has such a nice consistency, and works fantastic with make up! Can get enough of it, definitely my go to brand from now on!
    Love it
Wear this every day, put it on after my vitamin C oil. Really like it!
    Too greasy
I’ve used and loveeee the unseen supergoop SPF but as it was only SPF 30 I thought let me up my protection to SPF 50. I thought this would be somewhat similar to the unseen SPF but I was wrong. It’s so oily and greasy, it took me straight to breakout Ville. It’s a nope from me.
    The best
    Very nice
    Great consistency, love it
Really like this product. Has a great consistency particularly if you have quite dry skin.
No white cast even on dark skin tones, good price, not super greasy but it does stay slightly greasy.
    Pregnancy safe SPF
I’m happy I bought this SPF. I’ve been looking for a high SPF that is also pregnancy safe. Makes my skin soft and supple, has no white cast smells ok, works well under make-up. The only slight issue it feels slightly sticky on my face. I will still recommend this to my pregnant friends who are looking for an SPF with no harmful chemicals.
This was recommended by my sister. It leaves no white cast and doesn't pill if I apply makeup overtop. It is incredibly easy to reapply and personally, my skin hasn’t felt greasy or looked it after the application. However, it’s quite pricy, yet still my preferred sunscreen.
    Overhyped for me!
I really wanted to like this after seeing all of the positive reviews! I generally have skin that fits within the dry category! So this sunscreen with the sunflower oil extract I thought would be perfect! In terms of the sunscreen itself, it does leave my skin feeling hydrated and it’s great to see in factor 50. For me, I’m a little disappointed this isn’t a broad-spectrum sunscreen (totally my own fault for purchasing without checking this). My real issue with this is it's very thick and does feel very heavy on the skin, at times it feels quite pore-blocking..this said it hasn’t caused me any skin breakouts which is positive. Further to this, my eyes do not like this at all, I’m not sure if it’s the fragrance (I don’t usually react to fragrance). But if I use this around my eye area I spent the whole day with my eyes constantly streaming and watering - so something is definitely irritating them. Overall it’s an okay SPF for me although for me it’s expensive for a sunscreen that isn’t broad spectrum and appears to irritate my eyes. I will likely go back to PAI British summer SPF 30 or attempt a different SPF 50 in the future.
    The best sunscreen!
This is the best sunscreen I've ever used. It sinks into my skin well, leaves no white cast, and doesn't feel sticky. I use it on my face mainly, and I don't get breakouts or any reactions. A high SPF is really reassuring too. I'd definitely buy it again.
    Bit greasy
Bought this because of the good reviews. I'm 27 with combination skin, and I just find this SPF too greasy. The bottle is good value for the amount of product you get and the packaging is good. It looks white at first but the cast disappears very quickly, but it just feels uncomfortable and oily on the skin and makes me very shiny.
I wanted to love this sunscreen, but unfortunately, it is causing my skin to massively break out! I’ve been using it for about the last 6 weeks before going outside or for running. I don’t normally get many spots but in the last 6 weeks, I have had a ton! About 5 or 6 on each cheek consistently. I wasn’t sure if it was the sunscreen or not, but put it on before a run yesterday and woke up again to 2 more. Unfortunately, it is also a bit too greasy for me. Giving it 2 stars as it is still nice for my body, but not my face.
    Great sunscreen
I love it! Works great under makeup. It feels moisturising on my dry skin yet it absorbs quickly and does not leave a white cast. Definitely worth the money. Also, I love that it's cruelty-free!
    Great sunscreen
Really loving this sunscreen. I don’t find it leaves a white cast. Plus it’s water-resistant so I don’t sweat under it. I have very dry skin so its oily nature suits my skin type. It hydrates my skin and leaves it with a nice dewy complexion. I tend to leave it to settle for 20mins before applying makeup and my makeup sits beautifully on it (no pilling).
    Best of bests
It’s a little bit pricy, but deffinitelly worth it! Really good under makeup
Oily skin people avoid this product. I have normal skin and I find this very greasy and my makeup does not sit well over it. If you’re very dry and like wet look skin you will love this.
For an SPF the ingredient list is something I'm tipping my hat to. Guilty I've only just started getting into wearing SPF regularly and this is one that I feel doesn't give me that greasy SPF smell and feel but being a dry girl I love a formula that gives me added moisture, nourishment and a bit of due. So not only am I being protected by the sun it also has a plethora of oily goodness in it!
    Pretty good
I was looking for a good spf and found this one it is not white and doesn’t sting my eyes and makes my makeup go on better only gave it 4 stars because it can sometimes be greasy
    Best SPF I've used
Smells great, lovely texture doesn't make me break out and makeup goes on well over the top. I've struggled to find an SPF that doesn't turn me into an oil slick. This one is great!
    Best So Far!!
I'm 40 with dry and blemish-prone skin. I have been searching for the right sunscreen all my life and I think that I found it! I have worn it only 3 times so far but I'm very pleased! First, I like the smell, actually it smells like a classic sunscreen, a little bit strong at first but after 10 minutes it fades away. 2. It didn't break me out like everything else I have tried (except one I bought from a pharmacy many years ago) 3. No white cast 4. It's very moisturizing and dewy and I think it's perfect for winter. The reason I gave 4 stars is because I believe it will be heavy in summer and summers here in Greece are so hot and I sweat a lot! Hope I still like it in Summer!!
    Does what it says
I don't think it deserves all the social media hype it's received but it does what it says, is cruelty-free, and the packaging is nice.
I brought this product after being told it was non comedogenic, I’ve applied it twice and both times I’ve had a huge break out. I’m not one to get spots, and this product made my skin horrible. It gets 2* because it’s cruelty free.
    I like it
I really enjoy this product. No white cast, lightweight formula, sinks into the skin- but leaves quite a strong dewy finish- works for me, but might not be for everyone! I use it on my face every day so I’m a fan of the larger tube. The smell is pleasant, but on some days it slightly reminds me of lemon lemsip.
I want to like it but it's just too greasy, especially if I apply the recommended amount for sunscreen. It feels really tacky and sticky on my face; it's ok if I wear some makeup over it because then I'll powder it up and it won't feel as bad. However, on days where I go makeup-free, I just feel like it's sitting there like a face mask. Not for me.
    Shiny forehead
As with many sunscreens, it gives a very shiny look to my forehead. Also, it kind of stings my eyes, so you have to be careful when applying this product around the eye area. Also gives me a very very sticky feel.
    Holy grail!
I have acne-prone dry skin prone to redness. I have for the last two years may be tried 20 different sunscreens - and finally, I found one worth re-purchasing. It doesn't break me out, doesn't irritate my skin (like the one from REN does), doesn't leave my skin feeling dry, good under make-up - good value per ml AND I can tell it will last me a time. It has a strong smell of lavender, but that doesn't bother me and it fades after maybe 30 minutes.
    Love This ... BUT!
I really do love this formula, especially since it doesn't have a fragrance but some essential oils (I normally love Korean sunscreen but they adore adding fragrance) this protects amazingly, feels so nice and light going on to the skin as well as it doesn't leave me with any white cast. I do have combination skin and always have an oily forehead and this on the rest of my face looks gorgeous and dewy but on my forehead, I feel like I can moonlight as a lighthouse. Not the end of the world for me as it very easy for my forehead to get too shiny but its the reason why its gonna be 4* for me instead of 5.
    Great SPF
    I love it.
    really good sunscreen!
I had been looking and experimenting with SPF for a while and this is the first one that I have truly truly loved. I have oily/combo skin so it does look slightly greasy when first applied but it sinks in fast and I think it just adds a nice glow! Slight fragrance but that doesn’t bother me. Doesn't seem to have broken me out (can blame PMS and mask-wearing for that) but I have noticed any post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation has cleared up so much faster since using this SPF!! Could not recommend this more!!
    Can’t find enough words
I tried so many sunscreens ‘cause I thought I can find something better than this. This turned me off at first because it made my skin so shiny but I always go back to this. This is the only sunscreen that’s doesn’t break me out. (Knock on wood) I hope you’ll stock a bigger size of this. Please
    best sunscreen
I’ve been looking for good sunscreen, and I finally found one! this is one of the best sunscreens ever. It leaves your skin slightly greasy but not so bad. I’ve also noticed that the pigmentation on my face is almost gone. definitely repurchasing.
    Very good
I love this sunscreen for my face.
My most used SPF by far
I have been on the hunt for the best SPF for my skin since I realised I should be wearing SPF daily, rain or shine... and this one to me is perfect, I'm on my 4th bottle of her!! For starters it's CF and vegan which is just a big fat bonus! I love the way it sits on my skin, by itself and under makeup. It just feels like a moisturiser:) I also have v v acne-prone skin and had heavy acne when I was a teen and this doesn't break me out one bit!! I've even got my boyfriend and 16-year-old brother loving it too:) It's also fabulous around my eyes, even when wearing contacts. I've used this in Winter and Summer and it performs just as good in any weather condition. 10/10 recommend.
    Perfection in a bottle
I love the stuff can’t get enough, dose not leave a purple cast or smell funny just leaves the skin looking hydrated and supple
    Good SPF
This is a good SPF to use as it leaves the skin feeling hydrated and it does the job. Leaves no white cast either, however, I have combination skin and have noticed this SPF leaves me looking a little greasy plus this spf makes my eyes very sensitive - I don’t apply sunscreen near the eye area anyway but the fragrance really does irritate my eyes. Overall, 4/5 as it is a good SPF.
This was recommended to me by my sister. It leaves no white cast and doesn't pill if I apply makeup overtop. It is incredibly easy to reapply and personally, my skin hasn’t felt greasy or looked it after the appliance. However, it’s quite pricy, yet still my preferred sunscreen.
    The Best City Sunscreen
Love this sunscreen! The fragrance is light but pleasant but doesn't linger, and the consistency is equally pleasant and refreshing. I have combination-dry skin and this sunscreen gives me a dewy, nourished complexion whilst still being easy to rub in. The finish is rather comfortable on the skin and sits beautifully under makeup.
    Perfect SPF
Absolutely love this, no white cast, moisturising and isn't stinky and has definitely protected from at least sunburn/tanning super effectively in this heatwave One thing I'll say is it's probably best for drier skins and also don't rub your eyes too much afterwards lol, can sting if you rub your eyes.
Good sunscreen, great value for money!
    Love this sunscreen
I've been using this for the last 3 months and I love that it makes my face feel protected, while also actually protecting it from the sun! My skin feels hydrated, I feel ready to face the world. I have dry skin so it's particularly good for me. Highly recommend.
    Finally found the perfect SPF
Caroline Hirons recommended this and it’s perfect. Not highly perfumed, leaves no white cast, moisturising but not greasy and vegan/cruelty free. Perfect!
    Fine but not perfect
I like it, I do. It does the job. No unpleasant smell. But it looks really greasy on me. I have dry skin so I hoped it would absorb better.
    New fave
Controversial but I actually prefer this over Unseen Sunscreen SPF 30. Currently my skin is really dehydrated and I am finding that I need all the hydration I can get so this is a welcome last step in my morning routine. There is a subtle citrus scent that merges nicely with my other products. The best part is that its SPF 50, there is no white cast on my skin and because it absorbs nicely into the skin, my makeup sits beautifully over the top with no pilling.
Invisible but Broke out my sensitive oily skin
Love this because I was happy with my Paula's Choice of Mineral SPF but it left a white cast and was looking for something with no white cast. This SPF is 100% invisible, but if you have combo/oily skin this will leave you oily and greasy looking but will leave you with ‘glow’ if you have dry skin. But this broke me out with loads of texture and white head pimples all over my cheeks and forehead, kind of like an irritation breakout. This is when I found out that it was probably because it is a chemical sunscreen that I have never used. I will be sticking to my mineral sunscreen by Paula's Choice but is a shame. If you have non-acne-prone skin, dry skin, this would be great for all skin tones pale-deep brown.
    finally found the one
I've tried so many sunscreens but this is the first one that I really honestly love. It absorbs quickly with no white cast, it doesn't irritate my skin or eyes, it's not greasy and gives me a nice glow. My skin doesn't feel dry at all, this product didn't break me out and I loooove the smell of this. (about my skin: sensitive, combination, acne-prone) I will definitely repurchase.
    Not worth the price :(
I have been using this for ages trying to make it work but just can't. It is so greasy and sticky and never dries. It is very uncomfortable to wear. It also stings my eyes really badly - have tried avoiding the eye area but somehow it just makes them water. Its also very thick so feel like I'm pulling my face while trying to rub it in. Overall not very happy, would be good for a drugstore SPF but not worth the price. Only given 3 stars as it is broad spectrum, cruelty free and a high factor.
Have been searching and searching for a good sunscreen and I thought the good reviews for this would be a winner. But it’s a very thick/greasy texture with a weird smell to it. I’d have to put powder over the top to try and get rid of the shine on my face in the morning. It did sink in ok in the end, but I have had a few breakouts so I’ve been trying to sparingly put it on which defeats the point of a suncream. I don’t have blemish-prone skin and I usually have dry/normal skin and it wasn’t drying but I wouldn’t repurchase.
My skin looks radiant but feels very dry
I loved the idea of this product as it seemed like an easy way to moisturise my skin and protect it from uv rays on a daily basis. However, after applying a generous amount to my skin it feels very dry, I’ve had to apply another moisturiser on top to relieve the dryness. So yes it provides daily uv protection but I definitely wouldn’t be satisfied thinking that it is moisturising my face which is a big shame.
It's a big no for me...
I don't mind fragrance in skincare but this just overwhelmed me. Definitely not for sensitive skin and if you apply the proper amount of sunscreen you will look like a grease ball. Every time you reapply the greasier and stickier you get and sadly it also broke me out. But it will make a good body sunscreen, I guess?
    The Best
This is the best sunscreen I’ve used on my face EVER. I’m 34 and have combination skin with a bit of sensitivity thrown in. I’m also pretty fair so good sunscreen is vital. This absorbs really well into my skin, leaves a dewy sheen - no white cast - and has a delicate scent. It’s not broken me out like previous sunscreens, works well under my foundation, and the cherry on top... it doesn’t make my eyes sting and stream with water! Which often happens to me! Will defo be repurchasing. Love, love LOVE it!
    not for me
Irritates my skin and I only enjoy how it feels if I put it under makeup, which is not ideal for me because I don't like wearing makeup on a daily basis
    Overall good
I really like the consistency of the product, no white cast and sinks in very quickly. Only thing is it feels slightly greasy and in the summer I wonder if it will leave my face a greasy shiny mess - for now however under makeup it sits perfectly and no issues.
    Amazing formula!
Moisturising and light! Much preferred to the Unseen Sunscreen formula, but both products are marvelous. If you have dry/dehydrated skin, this is the one for you!
    Enjoying it very much
I was in desperate need of a new SPF as my last one was pilling. This works perfectly. I can reapply without it separating and it works well under my makeup. I'm usually on a budget but I think that this might be the new product that I have to make an exception for. If you are looking for a new SPF to try, I would highly recommend this one.
    Loved it
I have normal combo skin and loved it. When you first start to apply it feels a bit sticky and heavy but absolutely not. First 5 minutes might feel combo oily skins a bit sticky but not heavy at all. It makes my skin shine a bit but passes after 20-30 mins and seems glowy also can be fixed with a powder if needed but I love that glowy look after applying
    Amazing must buy!
This product is fantastic. I love it. No thick white film, great protection (my hyperpigmentation was so much better this summer and has faded away already), works beautifully under make up and even gives a lovely glow like finish whilst smelling lovely. With olive skin I’m obsessed with hyperpigmentation and my skincare routine and this is defo the best sun cream I’ve ever tried. Factor 50 all the way, it’s an essential in my skincare routine. It was recommended by Shani Darden who treats celebs in LA and she knows her stuff. All her recommendations have worked for me!!! Great value for a truly fantastic product.
