Use once or twice a week after cleansing on dry skin. Apply evenly on your face, then leave for 10 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with lukewarm water. Do not use on sensitive, peeling or compromised skin. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes both during application and rinse off.

Not for sensitive skin
I was excited about this mask and I really hoped it is going to be my new holy grail mask but unfortunately it tingled my skin immediately after applying. I was hoping that the sensation may be gone after a few minutes however it was not. My skin is left irritated, red. I guess the 2% BHA is too strong for my skin + the structure of the mask is grainy so I feel like the combination of BHA and physical peeling (when being applied and washed) is just too much.

Fantastic mask for anyone who has acne and blemish-prone skin that is a combination or on the oilier side. You can visibly see that it treats and reduces blemish size once you wash the mask off and it has a slight exfoliation when it is washed off. It is a fairly mild percentage of salicylic acid but it still shouldn't be overused or it can lead to irritation and drying your skin out. Skin type: acne/blemish-prone, combination

Doesn't do anything
Been using this for the past 2 months, and it's done nothing. I'm so confused at the reviewers who have said it's given them clearer skin. It literally hasn't done anything for me.

Overnight spot treatment !
Love this masque and started using it as overnight spot treatment on white heads ,in the morning the spots are gone or less red.

Amazing charcoal mask, pores are shrinking
I love using this mask, I have quite sensitive skin so was a little nervous, but I took small steps and didn't leave it on for the full 10 mins the first couple of times. My skin feels great, pores are a lot smaller since using it and generally my skin is cleaner. I do use other ordinary products, but this is mask has really helped clear out my pores.

I’ve suffered from hormonal acne for years which has recently got worse, so I had high hopes for this mask after reading reviews! The first time I used it my skin reacted pretty badly, with a strange, painful breakout (not like my usual ones) that just won’t go away and burns constantly. I thought this may have been an initial purge from first use, so tried another 3 times, I think my skin looks clearer, acne and hyperpigmentation reduced, hormonal acne seems to have reduced but I’m still struggling with the initial reaction/breakout 2 weeks later! don’t use any other harsh products whilst using this as I think this is what caused my reaction, stick to calming and non-drying ingredients, using my usual Inkey List salicylic acid cleanser with this is a no-go with this mask!

Give me all the salicylic acid!
I am a hardcore The Ordinary fan, I just LOVE their products. I have very sensitive, post-acne skin (although I still often suffer from hormonal adult acne) and salicylic acid has honestly changed my life. This masque is a lovely addition to use and I swear I see a difference even straight after I use it. I use about once a week so as not to dry out my skin.

Pretty good charcoal mask
This is a nice mask for calming down acne. I have quite sensitive and reactive skin and this hasn't caused any irritation at all. It's not groundbreaking, but pretty good considering the price tag. I would love to repurchase it, but it's forever sold out :D
