Like hyaluronic acid, this olive-derived squalane oil helps skin to retain much-needed moisture while promoting elasticity, to leave your face feeling smooth, supple and toned. What’s more, it works to combat the appearance of age spots and hyperpigmentation for a more youthful, even looking tone. It's available in both full and convenient travel sizes.

Indie Lee - Squalane Facial Oil

Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil Reviews

Transformed the texture of my skin
    so hydrating!
    Average oil
Nice texture, not too thick nor runny. Don't expect it to be absorbed in the AM routine if you have a combination skin, but works fine for the PM. I personally prefer slightly fragranced products, but this one is okay.
    Miracle worker
I was looking for a quality product to help with my dryness and this oil has really improved my skin texture. I mix a drop with my moisturizer and my skin gets super soft, and doesn’t get oily at all, it absorbs amazingly
    Good product
I haven't used many oils before but this one is very lightweight, makes the skin soft and leaves it feeling hydrated. I sometimes add one drop to my liquid foundation as it gives a nice fresh glow.
Perfect oil for people who don’t like oil :D
I bought this because I am working on repairing my skin barrier and need a hydration boost without irritating my sensitive skin or clog my pores and - ta da - here it is. Really lightweight, fast absorbing, no greasy, sticky residue, no essential oils added, no fragrance. Only pampered, healthy glowing skin. I really like it and I have to say I am not a face oil fan in general. Often they are sticky even if they claim not to be. This one is lovely and I also like that you can buy a small size to try in an environmentally friendly nice, small glass bottle.
    squaline oils
Well I like Indie Lee skin care a lot but its squaline oil and thats great for your skin, I love the stuff, but so is the one that the Ordinary make. Nothing else has been added, except the price difference. So if you have nothing else you want to buy for your skin care needs spend it on this one otherwise be sensible get the Ordinary version, and get something else you fancy too!
    Perfect for a minimalistic approach.
I'll be honest - the packaging was the first thing that caught my eye when I was browsing. This, however, started the research into what "squalane" exactly was. I think I've tried pretty much every single approach possible when it comes to taking care of my skin: only pharmacy brands, only natural ingredients, only oils, no oils, 10+ steps in the morning and the evening... However, it took me many years to realise that keeping it simple, was best for me. Here's where this product really shines: after reducing all my moisturising products to just this, my skin finally calmed down and started to look better than it had in years. Yes, it's not the most elegant product to use (doesn't really smell nice, doesn't scream "luxury"), but it's the most simple and effective one I have found. It gave my skin barrier the chance to repair itself and has become a staple in my (simple) routine. Can't recommend this product enough.
    THE Moisturiser
I was one of those people who was convinced they were allergic to facial oils until I read an article that explained that we should be using ‘stable’ oils with a long shelf-life (coconut, jojoba or Squalane) as they don’t go rancid as quickly which is what really gives people break-outs from oils. I opted for Squalane in the end as it is an oil that can be found in our skins natural sebum - we produce an abundance of it until our mid-20’s after which point it begins to decline. Needless to say, I have never broken out from using this oil in almost 12 months of daily use now, but have reaped the benefits. If you have never tried Squalane it is an incredible substance - it has a ‘dry’ feel to it which sounds strange considering that it is an oil and this one by Indie is so pure it looks like crystal clear drops of water. When applied to the face, neck and décolletage it sinks in immediately, leaving my skin texture a thousand-fold improved and nourished even in the driest of winters. I will agree with those who have said this smells mildly petrol-like as Indie does not use artificial fragrances in any of her products, but a lot of other brands hide harmful chemicals on the ingredients list under the umbrella-term ‘fragrance’ and it isn’t a strong enough smell to put me off this truly amazing product.
    Didn't like the smell
Read a lot of squalene oil and how good it is for the skin. Bought this based on all the glowing reviews. Oil is not bad and woke up to hydrated skin. But I really didn't like the smell at al; it has a very faint smell of something industrial. Sticking to my other facial oils which work as well and have nicer smell.
    It doesn't smell of anything
Why do Indie Lees products have no spa like smell!? Unfortunately, I won't be re-buying this range. I don't feel like it's doing anything active for my face. It's a shame because I wanted to like it and I bought a few products. For me the product is a little greasy so I think I'm switching back to Elemis recovery capsules.
    In love with this oil!
So I have been using this daily for the last few weeks and am ready to give my review. I use Sunday Riley good genes and luna oils at night, I have found adding an oil into my routine has made a massive difference to the recovery. This oils is not greasy, disappears after a few seconds of patting and leaves my skin luminous! It's beautiful, I need literally two drops for my whole face in the AM then add my moisturiser and I am oil controlled with my 'normal' skin. I love this, it's a larger bottle than I thought too!
    Not a fan
I was searching for a basic oil for my AM routine, I had heard squalane is a great oil that’s suitable for acne prone skin because it’s very similar to our skins sebum. But it didn’t do anything for my skin, probably made it worse. My skin was super dry by the end of the day and it felt itchy around my nose.
    perfect for older, drier skin
I discovered this oil in a shop in California selling natural toiletries and accessories and I loved it immediately. I have facial skin which is prone to dry patches which are itchy and prone to spots because I cant keep my fingers off it, but this oil tames my skin, keeps it soft and moist and denies spots the chance to live! At first I had to buy it from the shop and pay for the postage (and once for a customs charge!) but now I can get it from Cult Beauty without difficulty. I am a happy bunny!
First oil I've ever used... and I love it
I was gifted this product when I purchased other items from the same brand and I'm going to be honest, I was very skeptical about using a facial oil on my combination skin. I've never used facial oils before. I thought I had enough on my face, but I had it and didn't want to waste it. Well, my skin loves squalane oil. You only need 2 to 3 drops so don't think to squeeze an entire pipette on your face, a little amount is enough. It spreads beautifully and the best part is that it sinks into the skin without leaving any greasiness. I've used it all year round and is suitable for all seasons, in the winter time when my skin is dehydrated and even during summer when I use it as my moisturiser. The skin is smooth and so supple and when I use other serums, I never forget to put a couple of drops of this oil to mix together. It is quite expensive but using so little product it will last you a very long time. So far I'm very impressed with this brand, aside from the oil I've also tried the Brightening Cleanser and the CoQ-10 Toner and all of the products are effective and so luxurious to use!
    Clogged pores
I really wanted to love this as I was searching for something to really hydrate my skin. It did hydrate and made my skin softer, but at the same time after just a few days of using this product my face is full of clogged pores and those annoying little bumps even in my eye area. This was the only thing changed in my routine so for sure it was was because of this oil. If you have very sensitive and acne prone skin I would say to skip this one.
    Great product
Really nice! Mixes well into moisturisers and absorbs easily. No irritation or sensitivity and no pore clogging.
    So far, so good
I am really enjoying using this oil as part of my two step routine. I've been using it whilst trying to figure out which ingredients could be irritating my skin and causing the bumpy texture/ blemishes on my cheeks. This oil sufficiently hydrates my skin without feeling greasy or causing any new breakouts or texture issues. If you do not get on with essential oils and struggle with moisturisers because of their long ingredient lists, I would really recommend giving this a try. It does, however, have a very faint smell of petrol which may put some people off. I guess it depends on what your priority is - finding something that works or finding something that smells nice! Plus for people who have easily irritated skin like me, heavily fragranced products (natural or not) normally raise alarm bells anyway. I can't say much about what else this oil does, but for me all I wanted was something that would keep my skin hydrated without causing me more problems. So many products promise the world and yet can't even fulfill the most simple requirements for people with sensitive and problematic skin. Giving 4 stars as I have not been using it long enough to give it 5, but if it continues like this then I will definitely be repurchasing.
Perfect for my combo acne-prone skin
I'm usually not a huge fan of oils as I have a combo skin and the facial oils tend to just sit on my skin without absorbing but this oil is something different, it absorbs into my skin so easily and sits really well under creams and make-up. Plus it really does wonders for my skin leaving it looking more radiant and supple.
    Game changer
I love this oil, not only has it calmed all my red blemishes, I have had no dry patches and no spots for at least three months. I had got into a bit of a cycle of dry patches, red patches, over moisturising and ending up with spots. This seems to have calmed everything. It's lovely to use, you need such a tiny amount to do your whole face but it never feels greasy. I use it overnight and in the morning. It's more than I had spent before but I'm so happy with it and it's lasted me ages.
    Decent product
To start with what's good about it, I think the oil is a nice consistency, and it sits well under makeup. I think my main issue is that my skin is on the drier side, and since I started using oils daily in my routine I have seen an improvement, but this particular oil isn't enough for what I need. I like to apply to face and neck so have to use more than the recommended number of drops to apply it properly. The product is decent enough, and maybe worth a try for other skin types, but I won't be re-buying.
This has to be my ultimate desert island product. Not only am I able to not wear foundation for the first time in forever, but I actually look better without it after using this for a week. My skin looks and feels incredible; soft, glowing and completely blemish-free. I have two small children and haven't slept for about 4 years, but you would never guess. This is my second bottle of it and I'd forgotten just how good it is until I started using it again. Love it.
