Packed with prebiotics – which ‘feed’ the microbiome – this non-foaming paste works to ward against plaque, prevent cavities and neutralise damaging acids to keep your teeth safe from decay while preventing bad breath. With a fresh mint and verbena flavour, the 95% natural, vegan and cruelty-free formula is suitable for those aged seven upwards, and is housed in a tube made from 100% biodegradable sugar cane (meaning it’s great for your mouth and the planet). Odd but not bad
I don't really have any issues with my teeth, but there's a history of gum problems in my family and I thought a pro/prebiotic approach might give me some insurance. First of all, if you are used to using 'normal', SLS type foaming toothpaste, this will be a bit of a shock - it was for me. The consistency is really the hardest thing to get your head around: it's quite chalky and thick. The taste is nice actually, the verbena stands out. I used this for about a week before I caved and went back to Oral B - but I do use this about once or twice a week. I didn't notice a huge difference but clearly would have needed more time to see results. My teeth felt clean, though slightly less than with foam (that might just be in my head). At the end of the day, if you are looking for an alternative toothpaste, this will do the job well (hence the 4 stars) - I just don't think I'm ready to fully commit.
