This innovative, creamy formula can be worked over your lash line or across your lid as an eyeshadow, bestowing transfer-proof and impressively long-wearing coverage. It has a soft pigment that glides seamlessly over your skin without snagging or skipping, simply saturating your lids with rich colour. Available in eight flattering hues to bring out flecks, choose between gilded green ‘Olive Brocade’; midnight purple ‘Violet Damask’; deep moss ‘Black Forest’; jet black ‘Raven’; hematite grey ‘Slate’; rich espresso ‘Earth’; light-infused burgundy ‘Amethyst’ or warm bronze ‘Jasper’.

I stand corrected! (Amethyst shade)
Having decided to give this another go (basically, I didn't feel like sharpening any of my other purple toned eyeliners!) I must apologise for my last review. On the hand the colour is barely seen, but used on the lower lid - wow. It's now overtaken my previous favourite kohl/kajal liner! It's a gorgeous, subtly metallic/shimmering shade of violet which I loved! The quality is brilliant, it sharpens to a precise point very well and the glide of this liner is without question the best I've tried!

Feels nice, but the colour is disappointing
I love the other Chantecaille eye pencils/kajals I have, as I purchased them specifically to use on the waterline/lower lash line, it's kind of important for them to glide smoothly and feel comfortable! Whilst they certainly deliver on the comfort front, the colour of this is very disappointing. I could barely detect any of 'amethyst', purple, violet - even when I smudged a line on my hand and looked carefully under both natural and artificial light there was *perhaps* a hint of purple, but so faint that no-one would think that you're wearing purple eyeliner. I like to coordinate my eyeshadow to my liner depending on my outfit (as I imagine most people do!) so I was disappointed that I can't use this with violet looks, which I love as they suit my brown eyes. I'll be sticking with the violet Shiseido Microliner and Kajal, or even the Charlotte Tilbury Bronze Garnet, both of which are far more purple!

Black Forest is not green
This eyeliner has amazing staying power. You will need eye make up remover to take it off. This would be great if the colour was as advertised. The Black Forest colour is just black. It does not have a hint of green. I have a pale complexion and blonde hair: black eyeliner is too much for my eyes. I have worn this twice and it will now sit in my make up bag unused. A complete waste of money.

Very, very good
I really love this eyeliner. I have it in three shades (black, brown, khaki) and the quality is consistent amongst them. They are really creamy, very pigmented, easy to blend if you wish so but they set and they last all day long on my eyes without smudging BUT not on the waterline. In time they fade from the waterline but i cant really fault them because honestly almost nothing lasts on the waterline for me. Overall beautiful quality and colours. One star deducted for the price as it is hard to justify repurchasing frequently

It smudges on oily lids
I spent £25 (which I think is a lot of money on an eye pencil) on this product believing that it wouldn't smudge and stay put on my eye lids. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me - the application is smooth but it smudges throughout the day. I do have somewhat oily lids which is not to say that I apply cream or oil to my lids but simply accounting for my skin's natural oil levels...I wish I could've returned the product but once used - even once - I don't think it's possible to return a beauty product - the disadvantage of buying online, I guess! Based on all the reviews that I've read, I have no doubt that the quality of the product is good and that it works well for many women in that it is smudge free... but for me it didn't work at all - because of my naturally oily skin. It smudged terribly and consistently throughout the day.

A great quality product
This is my first purchase from them but a truly an amazing eye pencil/liner. Glides like butter, stays on all day and doesn’t smudge. Absolutely in love and buying more. I wish they had bright colours though.
