Alpha-HProtection Plus Daily SPF 50+An ultra-lightweight, non-chalky broad spectrum daily sunscreen, Alpha-H’s Protection Plus Daily SPF 50+ not only defends you face from the ravages wrought by UVA and UVB rays, but also creates an environmental shield that prevents attack from free radicals and other environmental aggressors. Readily absorbed and non-greasy (this won’t leave a ‘film’ like so many high factor sun filters), and is also intensively nourishing, so skin feels soothed, hydrated and conditioned, with a semi-matte finish that makes a perfect base for make up. With pomegranate extracts, Pycnogenol (to ward against photo-ageing) and Mango Seed Butter (to strengthen and optimise skin elasticity), this is the ultimate one-size-fits-all moisturiser for even super-sun sensitive skin types.ALP03593363280022204 stars, based on9 reviews36.95Cult BeautyNew
A 3-in-1 moisturiser, sun shield and make up primer, Alpha-H’s Protection Plus Daily SPF50+ relies on two of nature’s own UV absorbers – Pomegranate Nectar and Mango Seed Butter – to condition and prevent moisture loss whilst rehydrating and replenishing dehydrated skin types, so your skin feels comfortably nourished, whilst being protected from the harmful effects of UV. Sweat- and water-resistant, the potent skin-conditioning formula features Pycnogenol – a super antioxidant, derived from the bark of the French Maritime Prime Tree – which works to brighten and protect against skin ageing – while antioxidant Vitamin E, calming Aloe Vera and pure Honeycomb Extract combine to lock in precious moisture, support the skin’s lipid barrier and fight free radical attack. Non-comedogenic and non-whitening on all skin tones, this doubles as a beautifully matte primer – in fact, it’s the only cream you’ll need this summer (and beyond).

How to use
Apply liberally to the face, neck and décolletage 20 minutes before going outside. If you’re in a humid environment or you’re perspiring heavily, reapply every 2 hours to ensure maximum protection.
Always reapply after swimming, excessive perspiration or after towel-drying
Sad to report that this makes my dry/combination skin feel like an oil slick.... literally, a shiny face all day!
Sits on top of my skin all day and doesn't moisturise at all. Make-up slides off within a few hours.
Wish I had read india's review before purchasing and parting with £29. There really are not that many SPF 50 moisturisers out there which are not jam-packed with chemicals, or that turn you grey - I'm mixed-race, so it shows.
Back to the search for protection against the hyper-pigmentation I'm dealing with!
I use this with my liquid gold and Liquid Gold face mask and it’s so lovely. my skin has improved vastly since using it, it’s a brilliant makeup base (I use before the original’s Rose Hip oil) and my skin has a constant dewy sheen whilst feeling extraordinarily soft! super happy.
I am loving this SPF, my skin is sensitive and dry, and this SPF works like a charm on my skin. It is a great base for make-up, and does not leave a white cast on the skin. It does not leave the skin feeling tacky or greasy.
On my third tube
I got a deluxe sample of this last year, and now I'm on my third tube. I'm incredibly acne-prone; this is the only sunscreen that does not break me out. Nor does it leave a whitish cast or film.
It's translucent, and is approximately colour of Benefit's Porefessional. I agree, it is heavy but not as heavy as so many other sunscreens out there. I apply it over a serum and a hydrating mist, and then apply either Becca's Ever Matte or Porefessional on top lightly, and then do my makeup. I'm INCREDIBLY acne-prone and oily, and this method helps reduce the grease while providing sun protection.
Having loved the original Alpha-H SPF 50 moisturiser, and looking for something that would work as a primer for my oily combination skin, I was really excited to try this new product.
Unfortunately, while the other cream leaves my skin feeling soft and velvety, this is much more heavy and greasy. After applying, it feels like it just sits on top of my skin and this sensation stays there all day. Despite the claims that it is a good matte primer it makes my skin incredibly oily and I have developed a large amount of blackheads, which I am still trying to clear up.
Considering the extra money this is really disappointing, going to go back to the original Alpha H moisturiser which is also quite a bit cheaper!
This product was recommended to by a friend with dry skin, she said it worked well for her. I haven't been as lucky. The product has a lovely smell and is effective as a spf, but sits heavily on my skin and has difficulty sinking in. I find the product sits on the oily areas of my combination skin, and any light makeup I put on top slips off. I feel disgusting and oily by lunch and any traces of makeup are gone. Might work well with other skin types but unfortunately not mine.
Didn't love it at first, love it now
When I initially got it, I didn't use it a lot because it felt really heavy (I had previously used SPF 50 from the place I did my laser treatment at which was very light). But I decided to just give it a go at using regularly. It didn't cause me any breakouts. My skin felt very moisturised. I layer this as the last step after my Vitamin C serum. I wait about 15 mins then start my daily make up. I am about to purchase it again because Alpha H is a brand I trust and I do like how moisturised my face feels.
If you are looking for a lightweight SPF then I wouldn't recommend it, but if you want like a moisturiser + strong SPF, I highly recommend this product.
Very disappointing ...
After my earlier, rave reviews for other products, I catch sight of this stuff and my heart sinks. It's not that the product per se is bad; it's not. But the packaging is truly terrible. I have two almost full tubs of the above and I am unable to access it as the lid brought the whole top of the carton off - and it would not fit back on again, thereby denying me access to the goodies within. I have had trouble with their gold night products, too. I must have thrown away about £200 on these products. Very disappointing. And never again - no matter how good they are. The packaging is shoddy. Very much shoddier than one would expect for the price. And I am very unhappy at being so out of pocket.
I love this SPF, it is definitely not for oily skin. Its more moisturising yet leaving a velvet finish. if you are more towards normal to dry this is it.
