Not so much

I love the ingredients but the formulation is really unpleasant in the skin. It peels and is not for that price point

Great product

4

It does the job well, results are good ! My skin type is acne prone. It’s a high proportion of mandelic acid, so make sure to do a patch test before trying in your face. This is part A. Part B is to ensure using a sunscreen on the following day. It’s not an option, it’s mandatory, like medicine. Apply 20 to 15 mins before leaving. And always keep one handy in your purse to be in the safe side and to reapply, I find the stick options available these days light to carry and convenient. Can go with sandwich method at least to start with (first apply a moisturiser, then the mandelic pigmentation corrector serum, then moisturiser again). The moisturiser shouldn’t have other acids/ active ingredients like vit c/ retinol that will react. Niacinamide 5% does best for me for the lower layer directly on the skin, while for the topmost layer I have many serums to avoid irritation and to seal in the good stuff already applied.

Tingles

3

I’m a fan of vitamin C on the skin for its brightening properties and defence against free radicals, however this is not my favourite. The texture is nice but the smell is quite strong, and it tingles and almost stings on my skin. The result is nice over time, but it’s so unnecessarily expensive that I wouldn’t repurchase.

Very nice serum

4

This is very nice serum, but unfortunately too harsh for sensitive skin. If you don’t have sensitive skin, then go for it, use it every night and will see your skin is clarifying and acne is disappearing , but if you do have sensitive skin, then don’t use it more than three times a week and layer it with some calming oil, otherwise your face can get burnt. Other than that, this is really nice, hard-working serum, that is worth the price

Too pricey

3

Way too pricey, and this brand keeps on increasing prices and then have insane sales on their website with 40% off and free products. Confusing as it makes you question the value of these products.

Gentle & effective exfoliant

4

I’m on my second bottle of this and feel I know enough about how it works for my skin to leave a review now! I have combination skin, oily and acne-prone but was also had a few extremely dry patches this winter (extremely), which the Allies Barrier balm really helped with. This serum is supposed to be great for pigmentation and while it does help fade the dark marks which I have over time (months), the real winner for me is how it gently exfoliates my sensitive skin and greatly reduces blemishes. A few times a week, I layer it between a moisturiser sandwich (balm on first and then apply again in sensitive areas after the serum) and I can honestly say the results have been game changing for me! My skin is a lot clearer, softer and most importantly, not irritated

Lightens dark spots and improves radiance

5

I had a few scars and dark spots left over from particularly pesky blemishes. This serum helped to significantly reduce the appearance of my dark spots over repeated use, while feeling gentle on my skin for a potent acid serum. Over time, my skin looked generally brighter and more radiant. Would repurchase!

Not worth the hype...

2

I wanted to love this serum, as it had been very well reviewed for pigmentation concerns. Unfortunately, I didn't get along with the texture - it felt sticky even though I applied it to very damp skin (as recommended by the brand). My skin consistently felt tacky after applying it and my moisturiser pilled when applied on top of it. I did not persist with using the whole bottle. Disappointed given the price point.

the best product for pigmentation

It lightens the pigmentation spots! Love it but smell can be unpleasant for some people.
