*BW* The texture is tacky and thick. I use the product after washing my face, leaving my face a bit wet so it's easier to spread the product. This has helped minimise my pores and even helped with the hyperpigmentation I had on my bottom lip. I definitely recommend patch testing before use. It can sting after you put it on but it should only last for a couple of minutes. My skin is looking better every day. Make sure you moisturise continuously when using the product. Your skin could get dry. SPF is a great help.

It’s alright

Honestly I expected better. It didn’t seem to work for my acne, it was kinda just sticky and goes white and foamy when your rub it into your skin. I feel like it may have helped but honestly hardly at all. I haven’t tried any other niacinimide but try the inky list one :)

The best skincare product I own!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

So let me start of by saying I NEVER review but I thought it was about high time that I review my longest running (and best) skincare product. I’m a skincare nerd and I cycle through new things all the damn time. I rarely ever keep the same things so I can try a range but my one constant is The Ordinary’s Niacinamide and Zinc serum. To preface this let me say that my skin type is oily and when I say oily I mean BP oil spill oily. I’ve been using this serum for two years now and one of the most impressive things it’s done is manage my oily skin. It helps regulate sebum production to minimise pores and it’s certainly done that and more. Before I started using this serum I strictly wore matte foundations, anything more dewy would separate on my skin and make me look shiner than all the stars in the sky combined. I noticed that my skins oil levels had improved and when the dewy glass skin trend started back up in the summer I decided I would brave it and buy Nars sheer glow foundation. To my surprise and delight it looked amazing and I know it’s all down to The Ordinary. I can also use oil based serums now without too much hassle. I still produce oil and that will obviously never stop but it is at a much more manageable level and for that I am thankful. I’ve never been one for breakout prone skin but I have noticed the lack of breakouts! I started using this when I was about 17 and it’s definitely help combat late teenage spots. I did have some visible pores on my cheeks which have also disappeared! All in all I would certainly recommend this product to all my oily skinned friends!!

Clear thick tacky texture. Found it to be foamy when rubbed in. Make sure to use on clean and slightly damp skin and rather pat it in.

I have loved this product and it lasted me about 6-7 months and I use only one drop on my face twice a day ,one drop for one application because even tad more than that,my face will turn into a greasy potato

Takes some time but worthy

I did not see any positive results the very next day or week. Instead I got small breakouts after using it for a few days. But I knew that to a lot of people, niacinamide is not purge free ingredient so I kept using. After a month or so the purging stopped and I finally started seeing positive results. My hyperpigmentation from old acne scars has reduced to a significant level and the skin looks amazingly bright. I use only 3 drops just after I have taken a shower and have pat dry my face. It absorbs easily. Would highly recommend.

Foams up when I add cream

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

I expected the bar to be very high with this famous product but I couldn't get it to work and clear my face like everyone else... It foamed up when I spread my moisturizer right after and gave me breakouts in the beginning! I was disappointed but did some research that I can now share : the product first makes all the pimples come up to the surface (hence breakouts) to then clear the skin that is underneath... I will try it again with more patience and will see if the results are any different...

It made me go 'wow'

As a person who had suffered from acne and the resulting scarring, hyperpigmentation and blemishes, using this serum made my skin dreams come true. I was caught in a never ending cycle of oily skin and acne, but using this serum put a stop it. My skin is no longer oily, has a beautiful healthy glow, my pores appear smaller and my blemishes have reduced over time. I use it in the mornings, with hyaluronic acid, moisturizer and sunscreen. Admittedly one of the finest products that I've used. The only problem I seem to have is, if I layer it on Hyaluronic acid serum, it doesn't get absorbed easily and forms a thick layer. But I think it has more to do with the time in between the application for both and that I should probably layer the HA upon this. Other than that, it is a fabulous product.

Good for acne/pimples

So I ordered this product and used it for a day and woke up with small white pimples so I asked someone and they said it was normal and my skin was just "purging" so I continued using it. I saw my skin was getting worse and I was at university and did not want people seeing my skin like this so I stopped for 2-3 months. Now I started using it again as I went home and were in lockdown so my skin did purge not as bad as the first time though. After a week the purging did stop and my skin started to clear up. Now my skin looks nice and soft and my complexion looks so good and brighter. I absolutely recommend it.
