Inspired by what makes the area of Hackney — a cultural melting pot buried in the heart of the East End of London — quite so special, Boy Smells’ Hackney Garden candle blends floral scents with provocative notes for a finish that is impressively modern yet comforting.
Encapsulating fragrance in a coconut and beeswax blend with braided cotton wick, this beautiful candle will fill your space with a scent that celebrates the two sides of British culture: the refined and the subversive. Notes of refreshingly green ivy is enriched with herbaceous coriander seeds, while clean, invigorating and ever-so-slightly-sweet neroli bud gives way to a burst of zesty orange peel. Light, sit back and be transported to the dynamic, exciting neighbourhood of Hackney.
For optimal burning, trim wicks to a ¼” before each light to avoid smoking and overheating. Once the flame is extinguished make sure the wick is upright and centred. The first burn of any candle should be long enough for the entire top layer of wax to liquify. This will ensure an even burn for each light. Refrain from burning candles longer than three hours at a time, and never burn a candle when there is less than ¼” of wax at the base. Always protect the surface on which the candle sits.
All natural white coconut and beeswax blend with braided cotton wick.

Had my hopes up
Bought this because the description seemed really aligned to the smells I usually like but unfortunately, the first few times I lit it, no smell! But after a week, the smell started kicking in and it is a pleasant smell but a bit more floral-y than I’d like.

Unexpectedly wonderful
This has a fresh, almost cucumber scent to it, with a really excellent throw. A perfect fragrance on a summer evening, with the doors open. Boy Smells should include this in their repertoire permanently.

lovely but subtle
This is a lovely scent, subtle, fresh, slightly peppery and a bit aquatic. The glass jar looks gorgeous too, much prefer these to the standard BS candle jars, as I like to see the glow through the glass so prefer them to be opaque like this. Just not quite strong enough to be a favourite.

Love the scent
Very fresh and exciting scent. It reminds me of London a lot and I'll definitely will be purchasing more as gifts for friends!
