WHAT IS GROWN ALCHEMIST
“Founded in Australia in 2008, Grown Alchemist was born from the belief that skin health and wellness is holistic and impacted by the world around us,” explains Anna. The beauty brand's line up is shaped with the help of skin scientists and nutritionists creating “high-performing products with clinically driven formulations and services that use plant and bio-tech ingredients.” With that in mind, the brand’s mantra is: “Health = Function = Beauty.”
As for the meaning behind the brand’s name? Anna explains it as “Grown = plant born, AL = for all and CHEMIST = formulations that work with your skin biology.” Makes sense!

“Our mission is to help minimise the impact of urban living on the skin, and we take inspiration from this to seek out the very best in new biotechnology alongside tried and tested ingredients for a holistic approach to formulation,” explains Liberty. “Ingredients must be proven scientifically to contribute to skin health, harnessing the best of what nature has to offer,” she adds. As such, the brand believes that its products are “better absorbed and better utilized delivering better skin care results.” How? “By helping to create optimum conditions for you and your skin to thrive.”
THE INSPIRATION BEHIND ITS FORMULAS
When looking to create new products, Liberty describes how the brand “starts by considering the wider context, i.e. depleted air quality in cities, an increase in environmental aggressors and stress. We also consider changes in market trends and consumer needs, such as an increased demand for skin barrier and microbiome boosting products. On top of that we build in research in dermatology, bio-tech ingredients and innovation within formulation textures and formats.” But what exactly is bio-technology? “Bio-compatible beauty means using ingredients that work best with your skin biology, so they are better utilized by your cells delivering better complexion results,” clarifies Liberty.
