3 Easy Recipes For Glowing Winter Skin

International facialist and skin care expert Abigail James swears by Aduna’s {Baobab Superfruit Powder} to bolster immunity, ward against winter ills and chills, and deliver potent levels of antioxidants to scavenge skin-ageing free radicals. “An African superfruit, I started adding {Baobab} into my own routine some nine months ago. I personally love it for its whole health benefits” says Abigail. “It contains six times more vitamin C than oranges – so is an amazing source of mega antioxidants – vital for cell protection, regeneration, the immune system, energy, iron absorption, healthy bones and blood vessels, as well as for prolonging skin health and vitality. It’s also packed with calcium (twice as much as milk), potassium, thiamin and vitamin B6 – all essential nutrients it’s often difficult to get enough of.”

“With a sweet, tangy taste it makes a great addition to juices, sprinkled on muesli or added to my favourite breakfast-meets-desert-meets-face mask – blueberries, cinnamon and honey stirred into organic coconut yoghurt.”

Want to boost your immunity (and radiate health) over the coming month of late nights, cocktails, bad weather and comfort food? Look no further than these simple recipes, to keep you fighting fit and glowing through December and beyond…

{Strawberry Cream Smoothie}

A brilliant way to start your day, this smoothie has an ideal balance of protein, healthy fats and energising fruit for a much-needed energy boost (ideal after the night before).

Simply whizz up 1 banana, 1 cup of strawberries, 1/4 cup of cashew nuts (raw and unsalted), 2 teaspoons of {Baobab Superfruit Powder), 1 medjool date and 1/2 cup of oat/almond/rice milk.

{Raw White Chocolate with a Baobab Twist}

A sweet – but remarkably good-for-you – treat, this dairy-free equivalent to white chocolate has all the creamy, chocolatey gorgeousness of the ‘real’ thing, with a wonderfully fruity undertone, thanks to Baobab.

Melt 1 cup of raw cacao butter (available from most health food shops and some large supermarkets) over the lowest heat possible. Add to a blender with 1 cup of raw cashew butter, 1 teaspoon of {Baobab Superfruit Powder}, 4 – 5 tablespoons raw honey and 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla essence, ‘whizzing’ until smooth. Pour the liquid mixture into ice cube moulds and freeze for around 30 minutes – then pop your chocolates from the tray and try not to gobble them all in one sitting!

{Crispy Treats}

If you have children who balk at the threat of ‘good for you’ options, then dupe them into eating well with these crispy, nutty bites of scrumptiousness.

Melt 50g coconut oil and combine with 1/4 cup of raw Manuka honey and 1/2 cup of peanut or almond butter. Stir until totally combined and gradually pour over the dry ingredients; 2 heaped tablespoons of {Baobab Superfruit Powder}, 1 cup of oats, 1/2 cup ground flaxseeds, 2 tablespoons of cacao nibs and 1/2 cup puffed rice. Use you hands to make sure everything is coated, then form the mixture into balls and flatten slightly before placing in the fridge to set.
