Valentino Couture AW13

At Valentino, models looked fresh-faced and luminous - think Sofia Coppola's The Virgin Suicides - all centre-parted hair and dewy, almost hyper-real complexions to off-set the SpackleTinted_Etherealintricacy of the clothes.

To begin, prime skin with Laura Geller Beauty's Spackle® Under Make-Up Primer in Ethereal, before applying Jouer Cosmetics' Luminizing Moisture Tint with a dampened sponge to achieve a light, translucent coverage. Use RMS Beauty's 'Un' Cover-up Concealer to disguise any imperfections, then their Living Luminizer to highlight cheekbones, brow bones, the bridge of the nose and cupid's bow.

Line eyes with 3 Custom Color's Clarifying Pencil (part of their Bright Eyed & Bushy Tailed Duo) before dusting the peachy-pink shadow all over the upper lid. Dot dark brown liquid liner (try Prestige Cosmetics) between the upper lashes to define the lash line, then apply one coat of Sunday Riley's Influencer Mascara in Truffle.

Enhance brows with Anastasia Beverly Hills' Brow Wiz, then 'brush up' and set with Clear Brow Gel.

Finally, dab cream blush onto the apples of the cheeks (Stila Cosmetics' Convertible Color in Gerbera is perfect) - buffing into skin for a lit-from-within glow - then dust highlighter such as Kevyn Aucoin's Celestial Powder in Candlelight onto the upper part of the cheeks (either side of the nose), the centre of the forehead and the chin for a youthful, otherworldly lustre. Kevyn Aucoin's Blush & Powder Brush is perfect for blending your make-up for beautiful, undetectable enhancement.

Now all you need is a Valentino gown (and a gazillion pounds with which to buy one) and you shall go to the ball!
