Finding the middle ground between healthy and happy tresses, the Medium Hair Shampoo (300ml) cleanses , hydrates and summons shine.
Laying the foundation for stronger locks, this formula is infused with hydrolysed keratin (AKA the ideal pairing for heat-damaged hair) and kumquat fruit extract, which helps to return tired tresses to their former, glossy glory. Plus, a moisturising blend of babassu and coconut oils will bring hair bright up to date. Oh, and fans of the brand's Mercer Street fragrance will be pleased to hear that it makes an appearance here too: think zesty orange and Italian lemon happily married with floral notes of peony, magnolia, and jasmine. Awful smell
It appears that the scent of this shampoo is like marmite - people either love it or hate it. Unfortunately I’m firmly in the hate it category and honestly, the only person I could think of that would enjoy the awful, overpowering scent of this shampoo is my grandmother. I’ve given the shampoo 2 stars as it did leave my hair clean, but Gosh, I wish it didn’t cost so much so I could just bin it - it smells horrible. It has a really strong granny-type soapy-powdery scent that really clings onto your hair and lingers through to the next day even with hair oil from another brand applied over the top of it. It’s over-powering and even my fiancé said he wasn’t sure he’d be able to get on with my hair smelling of it for however long it takes for the bottle to run out. I think there are better hair products that smell much nicer out there, so would definitely avoid this one. The packaging also looks cheap.

Went for Ouai after not being able to get hold of my usual brand (Alterna) and the reviews seemed a no-brainer. Not for me. Leaves my medium, long (knot-free) brunette hair a matted weave of a nest. Feels like there’s constantly residue left on it and it’s knotty within about 1.8 seconds of styling. Have given benefit of the doubt over 8-10 washes now (bought both the shampoo & conditioner) but still the same end result. Bitterly disappointing considering the price tag. One plus = smells nice.

Great
As a hairstylist, I can definitely say this is a great product. Cleans the hair and scalp but doesn't strip the hair. I have never tried a more fragranced shampoo and I've tried probably over 200 shampoos. Heavily but heavenly fragranced. Smells like flowers smacked in your face. Most compliments I've gotten on scent, whilst not wearing perfume.

Worth trying
I have quite long, slightly wavy hair which I was finding was greasy at the top and dry at the bottom. I bought this as a step into trying out more expensive brands and I am not disappointed! This washes my hair beautifully, and I am finding my hair is staying cleaner for longer and even less fuzzy if I let it dry naturally (with some leave in conditioner in of course). I am going to try the conditioner next to see if this makes my hair even better!

Best hair I've ever had
I'm obsessed. It smells amazing and my hair has never been shinier or healthier. Finally able to air-dry without worries. I use the Medium Conditioner and Detox Shampoo along with it, it's a winner combo!

Amazing
I had really oily hair that would get dirty after 1 day even though I'm stuck in lockdown and not doing anything! This shampoo however keeps my hair clean for at least 3 days with an amazing smell which also lasts for days! I can't recommend enough!

I have spent the last two years trying to treat a dry, flaky scalp with medicated shampoos, anything that might help but ultimately didn't. I got fed up, I never normally buy haircare at this price but trust me its worth it! 1 wash & my scalp & hair really transformed, can't wait to keep using for more results!

A Must-Have For Frizzy Hair
I have medium 2a hair that is very prone to frizziness. I have tried a number of cheaper and more expensive shampoos, but this has been the best so far in managing my hair. It makes it extremely soft and significantly reduces the frizz. No product will ever single-handedly eliminate it, but this goes a long way towards making that happen. I use it in combination with the Medium Hair Conditioner and it's a winning pair. The smell is lovely as well, very pleasant but not overwhelming.
