Disappointed

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I was excited to try this new formulated foundation. The old foundation had some flaws and the biggest being the fragrance however I loved the finish of the foundation and how it beautiful it looked on the skin. I expected the new formula to keep the luminosity of the finish and improve of the areas that needed to be fixed I.e the fragrance being the biggest. I was so disappointed the moment I applied it for the first time. The foundation is super hard to spread and dries way too quick easily leaving patchy areas. The finish of the foundation is completely different, it no longer gives a luminous finish instead my skin looked rather dull and dry and even felt so too. I also feel the waterproof element of it was unnecessary and has probably contributed a little to how difficult it is to spread and how ridiculously fast drying it is leaving you with little opportunity to blend well. Despite some of it's shortfall I definitely preferred the old formulation simply because of the finish it left.

Didn’t love it

I love all Huda products and couldn’t wait for this! I was so disappointed, it completely separated on my face. I have tried it with my blender and the brush from Huda and neither sit right.

Amazing coverage.

I used the original faux filter for years, This one seems more matte. Therefore, skin needs lots of hydration for it to work. I wouldn’t recommend for a dewy look, I have to mixed with highlighter drops or serum such as hydrochloric acid as a base. This is ideally a “going out” foundation or for acne prone skin for high coverage.

Beautiful finish but separates...

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

I have oily combination skin and was recommended this foundation as its matte but has a slight luminosity to it, I've never tried the original formula of Huda foundation though. I find it best applied with my wet beauty blender and it goes on soooo beautifully but dries quite quickly. I adore the finish and how it feels on my skin however I find if I use too much or if I wear it for more than 6 hours it starts to separate, however, I can fix it up with my sponge. Apart from that, it's a stunning foundation and worth a try!

HUD’s makeup

Way too thick and drying, had to mix it with another fluid foundation as it dragged on my skin and looked dry and, just awful. Didn’t suit me at all and an expensive lesson not to buy over the internet as you just don’t know what will suit your skin. Disappointed after all the hype.

Worst Foundation I've ever used

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

This foundation has so much wrong with it. It separates on my skin after 20 mins of using, you have to work so quickly once you apply as it dries incredible quickly, it's not easy to blend at all. I'm fully aware it's a full-coverage foundation but there is no luminosity whatsoever.

It’s definitely not an improvement.

I’m glad I got a backup of the original faux filter, because all the claims of this reformulation are off... my usual shade came out darker and yellower (Angel food), it’s really hard to blend even with primers etc, as it sets so quickly. With the original one pump is enough to cover the whole face with an awesome finish, with this one you need quite a few more and it feels heavy. I don’t see any luminosity either... it had promises that really didn’t meet. Very disappointed! My skin is normal to dry, maybe it would work better with oily skin as at least then it might blend....

Save your money

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

The product is not mask proof, is incredibly difficult to get out of the bottle, comes out very thick which is understandable as it’s matte but not to the point where you’re sat there pressing the pump for 3/4 minutes each day. Shade range isn’t correct as mine is completely darker than latte in the OG foundation. Not worth the money better of wearing nars or the first foundation.

Original formula better

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

I love the ORIGINAL formula of this foundation and as far as I’m concerned it didn’t need to change not even the smell. I got the NEW formula to try sadly it doesn’t even compare. It has even worse staying power, no luminosity, and I have to use more to get good coverage. Thank goodness I have lots of backups of the original.

It’s ok but colours are way off

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

So obviously I wanted to try the new formula. I love the OG faux filter foundation. Everything about it, the smell (I know a lot of people hated this) the coverage, how it feels on my skin, etc. This new formula boy where do I start. Ok, 1, it feels very heavy/thick and it sets quickly on the skin not leaving a lot of time to blend. The coverage is defo there though. Personally, this foundation feels similar to the Derma medical foundation for covering bad acne and scarring (just my opinion) 2, the colors are totally different from the first range. I was shortbread previously which was a perfect match. However this time it’s way too dark and I'm now the vanilla shade? I’m really not sure why the shades are so off with this new launch. 3, this does not make your skin look luminous or in any way dewy!! It’s a thick Matt finish and I don’t think it gives a filtered skin look at all. The previous foundation gives a much better overall finish. To conclude I think it’s ok but it’s one of them where personally I think if the previous foundation worked for you and the scented smell etc wasn’t a problem then stick to what you know. This one isn’t any better and I think ur wasting ur money changing/trying to find a new color match as I can almost guarantee whatever shade you were before isn’t the shade you are in this new one.
