Apply to dry hair. Load up the small end of the brush with powder. Use free hand to pull hair flat/taut against head and press brush down firmly into roots, starting from scalp and working out (do not use sweeping motion). Apply more powder as needed. To extend highlights, use the side edge of the small brush.

The best root cover
This is the best between salon appointments root cover I have tried. Easy to apply with the brush supplied and once in place , does not budge. Other brands leave marks on bedding and clothing but not Color Wow. Each pallet lasts about 3 months so is worth the cost.

It does an OK job I guess but it surprised me quite how much work it takes to paint the colour on. I feel like I have to dig right into the product to get even the tiniest bit of coverage and the whole process requires very meticulous work to get it to look acceptable (and that's with my hair tied back in a ponytail). Wouldn't repurchase.

Go for lighter shade
Having previously purchased the Medium Brown, I have now got Light Brown for my mid-dark brown hair and it matches a lot better. Also, recently discovered that this is great for disguising thin patches or wide partings where a lot of scalp is showing.

Prolongs your colour
I ordered the Medium Brown shade but found this to be darker than expected, so would go for the Light Brown in future. As I have only a few grey strands which appear, as well as darker roots which need covering, I found it was not so easy to use this product as is commonly demonstrated for someone who has a solid block of regrowth. That said, it did disguise most of my regrowth for a few weeks until I could re-colour.
