    LIXIRSKIN Universal Emulsion Reviews

    Too good to be true
I thought it might be too good to be true to find a product that works as a serum and a moisturiser and unfortunately I found that to be the case with this. On my skin, it doesn't feel as though it gets deep in to the skin to moisturise and can leave quite an oily texture.
    Great Basic Moisturizer!
I have used many moisturizers from various brands and price ranges, and I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised and quite like this moisturizer! It's lightweight and feels somewhat on the watery side, but still leaves your skin well moisturized. It also has a very pretty and clean dewy finish which I love- if I had great skin, I'd just put on some concealer and go out with the glow :) I think it's perfect for Spring-Summer season, or for winter with some serum underneath as it may feel a bit too light for the dry cold winter climates. It also has a pleasant herbal scent which is lovely. Overall, I am very happy with it and will repurchase for this spring-summer season!
    Breaks me out...
I used to have a really resistant skin that was pretty tough but after using this I’m suffering from breakouts. Literally ran out of my Glossier moisturiser so used this to keep me going and for the second time I broke out in little spots all over my forehead. I’ve never had this issue with anything before but react really badly to this specifically. One to avoid.
    Basic cream love
It is a really basic, but great cream, do not leave my skin oily and enough to use just a tiny bit. Love it.
    Perfect for happy skin
I'm on my 4th tube of this excellent cream. It leaves the skin plump and happy. I have been using this morning and night and it is happy alone or layered with serums etc. Not only is the product great, the lightweight tube makes it fantastic for travel too.
    In love
I just love everything about this cream. I put it on after using the vitamin C paste and my skin loves it. I love the smell and the consistency. It's quite thin and light but perfectly moisturising. I have dry skin and this works wonderfully well. I look forward to using it every day. I'm a police officer and so my makeup is often on for hours and hours indoors, outdoors, rain or shine and I feel this is a great moisture barrier and makeup base! I'll buy more!
    Love this
Moisturizing yet light at the same time and smells amazing. Love it.
    Holy Grail of Moisturiser
One product that suits my skin perfectly, that you can use it day and night it's heaven. My skin is glowing with health.
    An all round moisturiser
I have combination/dry skin and this absorbs well and keeps my skin hydrated. I like that it has some SPF but I'm not sure what natural SPF is and how much protection it provides so I'm still sticking to my SPF 50+++.
    Pretty tube, pretty skin
So I got swayed by instagram, pretty pink packaging, nice brand story, skin promises of dreams! But yeah I agree this really does do everything I wanted and smells like sooo amazing. Not too heavy not too light, just the perfect fit, a little goes such a long way, my tube is gonna last forever or a quite a few months. Layers well under any foundation, I should know I’m still on that particular quest!!!!!! and am seriously tempted by the whole regime now I also have the retinol night switch and that is four thumbs up if I borrow some hands, it’s that good.
Suitable for hot and humid weather
I live in HK, where is a hot and humid city, with combination skin. This one gives me moderate moisture sensation without any greasy feeling, definitely recommend to others.
    Will Definitely Repurchase
Already halfway through a 50ml bottle and I have to say I'm in love. This is light yet deeply hydrating, gives my skin a slight glow and leaves it feeling smooth and plump. In winter months I sometimes add a few drops of facial oil for an extra hydration boost. Perfect for layering and great all year round. Will definitely repurchase the bigger bottle when this one is done.
    Not impressed
While this is a nice enough moisturising emulsion it is nothing special, nothing you cannot buy for fraction of the price in a drugstore. I usually need a drop of oil added for it to work, on its own, it almost feels tightening. The fragrance is very mild and pleasant.
    Amazing
About to order the larger tube of this. I can say It’s a really lovely moisturiser for all skin types, It works so so well on my extremely sensitive and combination skin (super oily and super dry). My skin feels so hydrated and smooth after using this, this stuff doesn’t compare to anything else I’ve ever tried. It’s not too heavy, it doesn’t make my skin greasy in any way, and one of the best things about it is that it’s multipurpose. Meaning it’s great for those mornings where you’re in a rush and don’t have time to apply serums and eye creams etc. Can’t give it enough praise.
    Good product
I think it's a wonderful idea to have one item serving several purposes (face, eyes, hands) but I won't repurchease this cream because I can't stand the smell. It reminds me of somethig medical. A part from this it's a prettu good cream: light but very effective.
    Lixurskin Emulsion
So good to at last get an all-purpose product to use, which it does. Lovely consistency and doesn't leave a greasy or tacky feeling on the skin.
    Gorgeous
I bought this with the electrogel cleanser which I also love. This moisturiser smells a wee bit different from the cleanser, I can’t compare the smell to anything, at first I wasn’t sure if I liked it but after a week I love it. When I first used this I thought “this isn’t going to be very hydrating” because its quite light and I’m used to thicker creams but it totally is hydrating. My skin feels really supple and comfortable after using and throughout the day and at night. I have normal skin (a wee bit oily on the mid-forehead) and I’m 43. Like I say its only been a week so I can’t comment yet on long-term benefits but as far as I’m concerned I won’t be looking for another moisturiser for the foreseeable future. I love that it has a natural SPF and acts as a shield against pollution and free radicals. I can’t wait to try the vit c paste and the night switches. Also, love the way Collette has made this capsule collection to cover all bases and no gimmicky extras that your skin doesn’t really need/want.
    I like it
I like it very much when I'm tired because I only need to use this one. On a usual day, I use with lotion and serum. It is a soft, creamy texture. I've gone through two bottles and the texture of my skin feels great! I will buy this again.
    An ok product
I guess it works fine if your skin doesn’t have “special needs”? If it’s extremely dry, the emulsion won’t suffice. I love the packaging though. And it has a pleasant “barely there” cream scent.
    It's okay
50 ml review. Pros: Pretty packaging, nice scent, thick but sinks in quickly. Cons: Scent is too strong so can't be used near the eye area, not moisturising enough to help with dry winter spots, too expensive considering what you get. All in all: I won't recommend it and I won't buy again.
    Really nice but...
I really love the cream but I don't know why I hate the smell :( disappointed about this but the rest I love!
    Stunning
This cream is a hug in a tube. When my skin is struggling and dry I know I can apply this and feel instant relief. I love that I can apply this to my fave, eyes, neck etc in one go. Intensely hydrating yet light and not thick, this cream is amazing. I love the smell and don’t find it intense at all. This product is clever yet beautifully simple at the same time. I Will keep repurchasing and can’t wait to try other things in the range.
    Decent moisturiser
I was on the hunt for a new moisturiser and thought the cost per ML was very reasonable. I call this a good all-rounder but it’s not something I reach to when I need a SOS in the winter. It’s a cream texture that’s quite nourishing, quick to absorb and relatively light despite being a cream. Decent hydration, the smell is alright (nothing to shout about) and works well under makeup. I’m glad I tried it but it’s not a repurchase, unfortunately.
    Broke me out
I really wanted to like this, as I was looking for a moisturiser that is a bit more on the nourishing side, but it broke me out. It’s too thick + the smell is very intense in an unpleasant way. I can’t describe how it smells like, dare I say, maybe a bit like naphthalene? But it’s not really a subtle smell. Even though the packaging is lovely, I can’t say anything else positive about it. If your skin is very dry + you rarely break out then maybe it could work for you, but you have to not care about the smell.
    Nothing to get excited about
I bought this to go along with the LIXIRSKIN Cleanser and whilst I love that, this doesn't give me the same buzz of excitement. Don't get me wrong, it's ok. Very light and absorbs quickly into the skin. The smell is very herbal but I quite liked it. Not sure I will get any more of this but if you have combination skin like me it might be worth a try.
    Works well
I have really dry skin so I am used to using heavy duty moisturizer like Drunk Elephant's Lala Whipped Moisturizer. I decided to try this as it is a better price point. Surprisingly light but moisturizing! I've purchased this twice and will be repurchasing.
    Instant breakout
In the last 18m, I've managed to control 95% of my acne issues which seemed mainly to be derived from now living in a hard water area and dehydrating my skin. Coming from lovely Scottish water, I'm embarrassed to say it took me years and years but only a passing comment during a makeover at Bobby Brown about how quickly my skin hoovered up the hydrating moisturiser that finally got me thinking about my skin seriously. Now I use an oil cleanse and a ph neutral foaming wash to clean and Pixi glow tonic as a toner and I can honestly say getting a spot is such a rarity, it is almost surprising. I wanted to like this product as I mainly use cold pressed coconut oil as a moisturiser but I wanted something with some more science and liked the idea of it being a 'vehicle' for serums. However, using this Universal Emulsion caused my skin to break out after the first use. 2 painful cystic spots under the skin on my chin, 2 smaller volcanoes on my cheeks and a smattering of redness and small blotches across the bridge of my nose, even a couple on my neck. There is nothing else I can put this down to as I have not changed any other products and a break out of this magnitude is so unusual for me now. Since discontinuing use, my skin had dramatically improved with no new spots or irritation. I don't recommend this product which is a shame as I very much wanted to like it, but I do recommend Pixi Rose Tonic to calm down the irritated skin in recovery from using this product. Also, it has palm oil as an ingredient which surely any reputable business steers away from now? Not for me or you, if you have a sensitive skin of any fashion.
    Unusual but it does work
I bought the Lixir range to test its new skincare narrative and tested it very critically as it makes bold claims. Regarding this one: other reviews mention the smell and it's not fantastic, I get it. All Lixir products have unusual smells and this is no exception. I personally like herbal smells, so, it's fine, really. The important thing is, this cream works. Despite low expectations, I really (really) like it! It layers impeccably with everything I throw at it, it's great under makeup, it deeply nourishes but is also light, is great for lips, I could go on. Buy it.
    Average
This actually hydrated my skin a lot better than I thought it would be given it has such a lightweight texture. It smells fine; not great but not terrible. I probably wouldn't buy it again as it doesn't have any stand-out anti-ageing ingredients like peptides...it's just pretty 'meh'. Also, phenoxyethanol is pretty high on the ingredients list, which seems to be a trend with this range.
    Oh my face
This completely lives up to the hype. My skin feels and looks so nourished. I know it’s a bit pricey but when you can use it morning and night and everywhere in between, it’s definitely worth it.
    All in one product
This really does what it says. I have very dry skin and this keeps me moisturised all night but is also a very thin consistency so I can happily use it of a day without it sitting on my skin. Love using this to mix with some of my stronger serums to make a custom overnight mask. Highly recommend.
    Highly Reccomend
Add this cream over a serum and you will look as though you have had a perfect nights sleep and will have the most beautiful subtle glow. People often comment on it when I use this product. It can be used as a day or night cream or simply for touch ups through the day i.e. an eye contour cream or for dry patches. A real 'universal' product and does what it says on the pack.
    Fantastic product.
I have been using this moisturiser since Dec 17 and love it. I have 55 yr old skin which is normal to dry. Very dry in the winter. I was unsure of this moisturiser when I first started using it but soon fell in love with it. I walk to work in the winter and my skin suffers terribly but this year no problems at all. It has remained normal with no dry patches and feels comfortable all day. I understand it is trial and error with skin care products but this is a winner for me.
