Meet MGC Derma – pioneers of cannabis skin care

When you hear the word ‘cannabis’, hardworking skin care might not immediately spring to mind… But believe it or not, this so-called ‘evil weed’ is actually becoming big news on the beauty circuit, with the scientific community (together with the big corporations funding their research) taking a major interest in the many properties of this fascinating plant. As a result, ‘cannabis skin care’ is predicted to be a huge trend for 2018. It’s the star ingredient of pioneering all-natural range {MGC Derma} – who are the latest recruits to join The Good Ship Cult. And we’ve been tripping out to have them aboard. With that in mind, they’ve kindly penned a guest post to tell you all about why cannabis is the key to a calmer, more youthful complexion…

We’re so excited to bring Cult Beauty its first ever cannabis-based skin care line. Or cannabidiol (CBD), to be specific. One of the many compounds derived from the hemp plant, CBD is non-psychoactive, which means you won’t get the munchies or start to hallucinate – you’ll just be left with gorgeous skin.

Why is CBD such a hero ingredient? A potent antioxidant, it works wonders on fine lines and wrinkles, making it ideal for mature skin or premature ageing. (In our {CBD Stem Cells & Algae All Night Cream}, it’s combined with an age-defying trio of brightening vitamin C, elasticity-boosting stem cells and nourishing algae.) What’s more, as an anti-inflammatory compound, it relieves flare ups such as redness, eczema and psoriasis, most potently in our {CBD Herbal Repair Cream} which soothes any itchy, flaky skin conditions. It also hydrates and nourishes brilliantly – ideal if your skin’s feeling a little thirsty and neglected. (If that’s the case, we recommend treating it to our {CBD Hyaluronic & Peptides Day Cream}).

Our CBD is exceptionally pure, thanks to the meticulous way we extract and separate the cannabidiol from the whole plant. This means it retains special minorities compounds which are the ‘fingerprint’ of our genetics, so our skin can instantly recognise them and put them to use.

Cannabis itself is actually pretty powerful when it comes to healing and nourishing the skin. We’re working to remove the stigma associated with it, and instead shedding light on the numerous benefits one of nature’s oldest and most intelligent plants.

While you enjoy getting to know {MGC Derma}, we’re working hard to develop our Derma Plus range (which will also be available through Cult Beauty soon), so keep an eye out for our new additions. Please let us know how you get on with our range, via Cult Beauty’s customer reviews or their social media channels. We’d love to hear what you think!
