Caroline Hirons’ Dream Products

Cult Beauty Box by Caroline Hirons

Hurrah! The third {The Cult Beauty Box by Caroline Hirons} has almost landed and it’s MEGA. A beauty ‘Box of Dreams’, this stunning {skin care} (and relaxation) regimen unites Emma Hardie, May Lindstrom, Tata Harper, Therapie and Zelens with little known – but maximally mighty – Dr. Dennis Gross. Here’s what Caroline has to say about ’em…

Emma Hardie’s {Moringa Cleansing Balm}

“I’ve been using this cleanser for over five years. This balm is one of the first that I really fell in love with. It really cleans the skin but there is never any residue or greasy feeling afterwards. It is amazing for either removing all make up – including waterproof mascara – or simply for waking the skin up in the morning with a really quick massage.

I apply a small amount to dry skin – even when wearing makeup and massage thoroughly. Run the cloth provided under warm water, wring out and remove cleanser thoroughly, starting at the forehead and working your way down the face. Repeat if using in the evening.”

Zelens’ {PHA+ Bio-Peel Resurfacing Facial Pads}

“Dr Marko Lens is probably the first person I turn to with any skin/ingredient questions that I may have. What he does not know about skincare is simply not worth knowing. The Zelens PHA+ Pads are fairly unique in the ‘acid exfoliation’ world as they are glycolic-free, making them the perfect product for nearly everyone. These are gentle enough to be used twice a day and are suitable for all skin types, from sensitive to acneic.

I apply one pad all over the skin, starting at the top of the forehead and moving left to right down across the face, in a ‘windscreen wiper’ action. Once you reach the bottom of your neck, turn the pad over and go again!”

Dr. Dennis Gross’s {Ferulic + Retinol Eye Cream}

“The fact that this brand is not more widely known, especially in the UK, is a crime. Dr. Gross has a brilliant range of products, so much so that it was hard to pick just one for the box.” says Ms. Hirons. “This eye cream makes a visible dent in dark circles whilst almost immediately plumping out fine lines and wrinkles – an effect that, thankfully, endures throughout the day.

“I take a small amount of this cream – about the size of two grains of rice – on the tip of my ring finger and dab once on the opposing ring finger. Apply the cream to the underside of both eyes and massage gently in, taking the residue up over the brow bone, giving yourself a full circle eye massage in the process.”

Tata Harper’s {Rejuvenating Serum}

“Tata Harper is one of my favourite brands of all time. Her ability to find hi-tech ingredients within the plant-based world and blend them into beautiful formulas is unparalleled. I use one of her products in either my morning or evening routine nearly every day. This serum contains 29 active ingredients to help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and fortify the skin. It absorbs beautifully and is perfect for under moisturiser. I’m not alone in raving about this product. It is a recipient of the Marie Claire Prix d’Excellence de la Beauté.

After you’ve spritzed your toner, apply two pumps to your fingertips and briefly touch your fingertips together to distribute product evenly. Apply all over the face – there is no need to massage this in too much, just apply and allow it to sink in on its own.”

May Lindstrom’s {The Blue Cocoon Beauty Balm}

“This is one of those products that I fell in love with immediately and now absolutely cannot be without. Suitable for every skin type but particularly brilliant for those of us prone to any kind of upset skin, whether that comes from intolerances or breakouts, this blue pot of gorgeousness is akin to your face being tucked into bed for the night with a cashmere blanket and silk pillow. Every pot of this soothing balm is still handmade by May and her team and is organic, biodynamic, wild-crafted and vegan, all whilst being sustainably sourced.

It can be used across all skin types and is perfect for this time of year, when moisture levels are compromised. It can be used both am and pm, but is ideally used after cleansing and toning and just before bed. Scrape a tiny amount (a little spreads a long way) out of the jar and spread it among your fingertips, which will start to melt the product. Get it straight on to your face and massage in. This is perfect for evening facial massage. The relief is immediate.”

Therapie’s {Himalayan Detox Salts}

“I first had Michelle Roques-O-Neil’s hands on me in 1999. I have never forgotten the experience. She is the absolute Queen of aromatherapy and massage. These salts are the closest things to experiencing her for yourself in your home. The Himalayan mineral salts contain powdered amethyst, alongside essential oils of lemongrass, juniper and geranium, and work to alleviate stress, calm the mind and restore balance and energy levels.

Add 1-2 capfuls under running water and soak in the bath for at least 15 minutes. Leave your phone outside of the bathroom and disengage completely.”
