The bed of nails has been used by Indian mystics for centuries in the practice of healing and meditation and now it's been re-invented with a Scandinavian twist to give you a whole range of benefits, from soothing sleeplessness and easing stress to helping you re-balance after a long haul flight, alleviating aches and pains and even reducing the appearance of cellulite (the spikes help the body rid itself of toxins and increase blood flow, to assist the breakdown of stubborn fat groupings). It's also brilliant for easing neck and back pain, and can even have a positive impact on your complexion!
Far from being a scary instrument of torture, this Bed of Nails can have a rapid impact on those nagging aches and pains and help you get a heavenly night's sleep. The makers have cleverly combined Eastern wisdom with Scandinavian modernity to create a funky-looking acupressure mat that alleviates tension, stress and stubborn twinges - helping you to unwind, clear your mind and to feel more nimble. More than 8,800 non-toxic plastic spikes are arranged on the mat and work in a similar way to acupuncture needles, helping release endorphins (the body's own 'happiness' drug) and oyxtocin, to help you stay calm and relaxed.
Lay the Bed of Nails on the floor or on a mattress and slowly lower yourself onto it. Beginners should wear a light T-shirt or lay a sheet over the mat until your body and skin get used to the spikes. Initially lie on the Bed of Nails for 10 - 15 mins, and as you get used to the pressure you can build up to 20 - 30 mins.
Use as often as you need - preferably daily. Don't be alarmed if your skin stings a bit or feels warm and tingly, and it's perfectly safe to fall asleep for a while on the mat.
Leaning against it (rather than laying on top of the mat and pillow) is a lighter way to use Bed of Nails while you acclimatise (you put less weight on the spikes when you do). Place the mat/pillow at the back of your sofa, bed or armchair to experience the benefits while building up your tolerance.
The nails are made of 100% recycled non-toxic ABS plastic, the textile is cotton. The Bed of Nails should not be used in case of skin disease, haemophilia or the intake of anticoagulants.

Good product
I like this product and use it most days before bed. I’m not sure about the price, however.Â

Great for migraines
I suffer from migraines and theirs is wonderful to use while waiting for my medication to work. It does something to confuse my nerves or pain receptors… Basically it somehow spreads the pain and makes it less concentrated in the back of my head. A must have for me.Â

It works
I sufferer from a bad back due to fall and also have primary lymphoedema which causes me pain and discomfort on daily basis. I was sceptical about trying this mat but I'd try more or less anything to ease my discomfort and I'm glad I did. It's a strange sensation at first but I started slow and wore a t-shirt my first few times and built up my time lying on the mat gradually. Now I lie on it with bare skin and can easily do 20/30 mins. You will feel slightly uncomfortable to start but for me this turns to a warming sensation and then relief from the discomfort from my back/legs and I feel more relaxed. It's not a miracle worker but it definitely helped ease my discomfort and helps me sleep abit better too.

Beneficial
Started skeptical, my boss swear by this mat. I gave it a try starting with 5 mins a night gradually building myself up. Great for relieving tension and is relaxing, purchased the neck pillow also.

Great, great, great
I was a bit hesitant before buying it but, having read a lot of reviews, decided to go for a quality product instead of cheaper options available in different places. I am definitely not disappointed! It is a great example of an easy solution delivering great results (helped with my back pain - and not only mine; I bought a second mat for my parents) but, in case of doubts, it has clear instructions and suggestions attached. You can use it in various ways and it is definitely something worth trying!

Find the time!
Takes some getting used to but when you find the time to use it, it really is brilliant.Â

Comfortable
Actually a lot more comfortable than I expected and I find it relaxing too

Takes some getting used to but invigorating
I found I had to start with shorter sessions then build up to longer periods (without a top) or wear a thin t-shirt to shield a little. Always feel invigorated after using thoughÂ

Try!
I have purchased two of these mats, one for me and my friend. It takes a bit of getting use to but i feel so much better after each use. Great for achiness in the back or even sore feet as its soothing. I feel 'lighter' after I use this mat.
