    The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%

The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% Reviews

    Best product ever
I’ve never used vitamin c on my face before. Since childhood only used baby soap and baby cream. I was always afraid to try something else and see coz I have very sensitive skin. This just amazed me. My skin started glowing after I used this product. I love it so much!
    Not a fan
The formula is strong but I'm not a fan of the texture. It's grainy and doesn't absorb into my face and just sits on top like a film. I don't particularly have sensitive skin and it still stings so I can't imagine it being great for people with actual sensitive skin. I prefer the ascorbic acid 8% and alpha arbutin 2% serum. I might try it with hyaluronic acid to see if it feels any better because I've still got half a tube sitting around
    Erm... not really good.
I had high expectations for this product but it didn't live up to them. The texture is grainy which we already knew (very runny as well). Nothing major but when applied to the skin it adapts a sand-like composition almost like a scrub which is not good for sensitive skin. It also peels off and becomes very thick, I had to use a toner to get it off my hands. The Ordinary products are usually amazing but this one let me down. The Inkey List Vitamin C Serum is a better choice in this case.
Only just started using this and I really like it. The only complaint I have is the packaging as it’s far too runny and I always accidentally use too much because it runs out of the packaging so easily. I feel like I’ve almost used it all and I’ve only used this product twice so far! I think a change in packaging would be beneficial!
    Powerful and gritty
I have used many tubes of this little powerful gem and will continue to use. Not for smooth elegant formula lovers, or sensitive skin, it packs a punch in a gritty suspension that is very effective in brightening and evening out skin tone. I tend to use it at night or weekends, brilliant results everytime. But it takes time getting used to it and appreciating it.
    No complaints here
This product takes some getting used to. I got my first tube in September 2020. It is January 2021. I still have it. I use a tiny bit and it works great when layered with other serums, especially after I wear makeup all day. It does tingle, but if it's too uncomfortable, STOP USING IT.
    Horrible texture
This is very dry and pasty, and made my skin tingle a lot. it was difficult to spread over my face with how pasty and dry it was, so I had to mix it with my serum. It was not as good as other vitamin C serums I tried, and the silicon in it makes vitamin c less effective.
    Works great in PM routine
My skin is combination and slightly acne prone and since using this in my PM routine I've noticed a definite improvement in my skin texture and tone. While I agree with other reviews that the texture is weird and it can sting a fair amount, I find it manageable as I only use a VERY small amount after cleansing and before using my night cream. I'll also allow about 5 minutes or so between applying this and applying anything else (good time to brush your teeth). This also means I get no problems with staining. This isn't a product for you if you're looking for an easy, quick routine but for me the results I've had make it worth the little bit of extra time and consideration.
    Giving it time
I find the product watery and grainy in texture. Tingles at first but is not uncomfortable. I look too shiny when I use this product so tend to use it when I'm staying at home on the weekend. My skin breaks out very easily so I am reluctant to use this AM and PM as the directions suggest. Not sure I would buy again but I will continue to use until it runs out.
    Not for me
It may well work as a vitamin C product, but the formulation is weirdly powdery, and it stung a lot more than I was willing to tolerate. It also pilled a couple of hours in to wearing it when coupled with SPF. I would not recommend this if you can afford to buy a more expensive formulation.
    Nice for acne spots
I like it. Even my father uses it too. It helps in fading acne scars with time. It is a bit oily but is very nice and hydrating.
    The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension
Very good product and enjoying using it. I do feel it would not be suitable for sensitive skin.
    Working wonders for me
Really impressed with this product. Although i don’t ever wear heavy make up, I’m normally very self conscious to go completely bare but since using this at night my skin tone is super even, glowing and blemish free and I’ve had quite a few bb cream free days now! Will definitely repurchase, shame the tube is fairly small in size - wish there was a bigger option! Small niggle is the way it dispenses from the tube, needs a better way to regulate the amount of product that comes out.
Having used a different brand thought I’d give it a go. Yes it’s a bit gritty and a tad oily at first but it does work wonders for my skin. DOWNSIDE - smells & reacts like fan tan. I’ve an orange stained pillow. Hands that look like I’ve done a botch job on myself and dirty looking nails. Not sure it’s worth the small reward it gives
This product is not for everyone
I have had breakouts on the second day of using this product. I love Ordinary products, however this one is great but not for everyone. The texture makes it harder to apply.
    Am in love
It doesn't sting. It is a has a bit of a gritty feel but it is gentle. My skin is glowing. Would def buy again
Be careful if sensitive to smell! ❤️
Although I absolutely adore The Ordinary products, I just can’t get myself to love this one! The gritty texture didn’t bother me at first as I thought it might be exfoliating, however, I am just very sensitive to the metallic, rusty smell - it’s so bad I’m going to have to wash my pillow, lol! Not disappointed in the slightest, as it did leave my skin looking glowy and soft I just think this wasn’t for me! :)
    Gritty Texture,
Doesn't soak into the skin easily and very gritty texture almost scratching the skin. Normally love The ordinary products so will keep going for a few weeks to see if we have any major improvements visually but not the most luxurious product which is hardly surprising at the price! The smell is a little metallic but perhaps this is amplified as it doesn't seem to be absorbed like other serums/creams etc.
    Weird but good!
This liquid with vit c is a bit gritty and you have to mix it with something else or put up with maybe not always going into your skin smoothly but the results are SO worth it!If you have red scars left after spots and uneven, damaged skin it is one of the few products that has actually’mended’my skin and totally faded the marks. The only thing is ,like all proper vit c products, after leaving it on the skin long enough you do go a bit orange as it oxidises with the air!Overall though it is totally worth it for the wonderful difference it makes to uneven, scarred skin!
    Love this product
My skincare routine is made up of The Ordinary products. I rotate each night using retinol, peptides and vitamin c as they shouldn’t all be used in the same routine. I really like this product it is the only vitamin c product I have used out of the ordinary and it makes my skin look dewy and hydrated. I did experience some tingling the first time I used it however my skin is used to it now. The texture is a little bit gritty like exfoliator but I use this and then my natural moisturising cream with HA from the ordinary once it has absorbed. I have repurchased this and will maybe think about trying the other vitamin c products but for now, I really like the way this makes my skin look.
    Vitamin C suspension
I love this now I've got hang of using it I mix the tiniest bit with my usual serum at night and wake up with the smoothest skin just be careful as the amount that comes out of the tube is way too much and u can waste a lot. Overall five stars from me and I will continue using it.
    Okay, tecture not for me.
I feel a little bad leaving this review as The Ordinary do great products for good prices but the texture for me was too heavy. I have combination skin so need something much lighter. If you don't have this skin type I think it would be good for you. Always worth trying to see what will or won't work.
I have used it for about a month along with retinol we night. I use this in the morning. The consistency is slightly grainy and tastes Saltey if it gets on your lips! Overall it’s good. I feel like it plumps and brightens my skin! Makeup goes on fine after! Gives a tiny stingy got feeling but soon goes
I don’t know but when I used this gave me reaction after 5 min I washed off still had the itchy feeling ... next morning my face was awful took 2/3 days to heal I don’t recommend this product
    Love love love
I have only been using this product 3 nights! So prob a bit premature for a review but the way this has made my skin feel after applying PM after shower or make up removal warrants a review. My skin feels like silk and I looked in the mirror before and thought my skin looks good! Normally it’s blotchy with red areas! I also got the 2% serum which I use in the morning before my primer and make up. Moisturiser is on its way too! I think I will 100% be sticking with this brand.
    Not for vit C amateurs
This was the first vitamin C product I bought when I was looking to incorporate it into my routine - the first time I used this I had to wash it off my face no more than 5 mins later due to the amount that it stung. It was unbearable. I think this percentage of vitamin C is for those who have already had vitamin C in their routine for some time and have built up a tolerance to it. For beginners, The Ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% would be a better alternative. I'm still waiting to build up my tolerance to this product so I haven't used it since that 1 time, which is why I have given it 4 stars.
    Broke me out
It broke me out as soon as i added it to my routine. Stopped using it for a couple months then started using it again and it broke me out again.
    miracle product
I've been using this product for the last 5 months. I use it in my PM routine. The product has a weird texture and smell, makes you feel your skin almost greasy but the results after one week are amazing. Less blemishes, less red spots and a brighter and more uniform skin
Gritty texture and discoloured my palms!
The texture is awful, be careful using it for the first time as you don’t expect it to feel like your rubbing your face with sandpaper. (I only used a pea-sized amount for my full face). Very greasy and does not absorb. I carried on using it as wanted to see if the results were worth it however after a couple of weeks it left my palms an orange stained colour. Similar to as if I had applied fake tan?! Rather strange as this did not happen on my face.
Gritty, stings and makeup is a no no
The texture is quite runny but then gritty on the skin. Makes my skin tingle whereas others I have used don’t do that. Putting makeup on after this is impossible
    Good Value
Another no fuss no drill product from The Ordinary. It worked well and is good value for money. Would repurchase.
Listen I like what this product gives when I do a full skin routine but I have a few issues with it. 1 it’s more an itchy burn sensation than a tingle. sometimes it actually hurts, it’s also very oily and gritty when applying to the skin. but nonetheless, I use it with oil’s moisturisers and cleansers and my skin has improved massively. so it really depends on whether you can deal with the application!
    Awful texture
I tried this for the first time last week. 1. The texture is absolutely dreadful! It feels like I am applying sand to my face, it is not absorbed nicely on my skin and there's no way I can wear my foundation after this serum. It just blocks my skin from any other makeup, however it might be okay if you use it only for skincare without putting any makeup afterwards. 2. To be honest, you can tell that it brightens your skin after a few days of using but the more days you use it for the worse you feel. The tingling and itching are unbearable and my skin became super sensitive. So the good effect is just not worth the uncomfortable feeling on your skin. I purchased this serum alongside other The Ordinary products such us AHA peeling, rosehip oil, and caffeine solution. I love the other stuff, but this particular product is just a big NO-NO for me.
    Not for sensitive skin
I kept using this even though it really tingles on the initial application as it said it would. However, I have had to stop using it for a while as I developed red itchy blotches around eyes and mouth. They are disappearing now I’ve stopped using it but if I use it again I will have to mix it with another moisturiser. I’ve used other expensive vitamin C products before and I have never experienced this reaction.
    Use only at night!
The product is very nice. The day after I used this on my skin, it wakes up looking healthy and with amazing texture. My main points with this are, 1) I live in Brazil, you cannot use in the morning otherwise your skin will get SUPER oily (and my skin is normal). 2) I can feel the HA spheres while applying and this bothers me a little - looks like a micro-exfoliation.
    vitamin C
When I apply this suspension at night, I really notice some brightening of my complexion and my skintone is more even. Surely will continue to use. The only downside is that my pillow got slightly stained so be aware and the smell is not very pleasant. Otherwise for this price I highly recommend you to try this product.
    good serum
I am happy that I found an affordable serum which contains vitamin c and is so much better than some expensive serums that I have tried.
    Great but weird!
Love how this makes my skin feel the next day but feels weird going on and is super gritty, also it weirdly dyed my pillows orange??!!! What is this stuff?!!! There was no warning about that even though I’d read the reviews... Maybe I’m just a total skincare amateur and everyone else knows this??!
    Vitamin C Suspension
This always goes into rolls when trying to put on. Not a fan although the tingling sensation is fine.
    Really nice
I really like it, it makes my skin plump and bright. I use it at night mixed with my moisturiser to combat the grittiness, and I wake up in the morning with the most glowing skin ever! But you must wash your hands after applying the vitamin C because it will oxidize while you sleep and turn your hands orange!
    Makes me break out
I have very clear skin overall, and its never sensitive to skin products, but this made my skin break out like crazy!!
    Супер-продукт! ***Super-product!***
Это самый лучший продукт из всех, что я пробовала у Ординари. Самый действенный. Яркий, ровный, сияющий цвет лица. Прост супер! Лично мне не жжет и нет никакого раздражения. Все индивидуально. ***This is the best product I've ever tried from the Ordinary. The most effective. Bright, smooth, radiant complexion. Just super! Personally, I do not burn and there is no irritation.***
    Excellent for Hyperpigmentation
After reading all the reviews wanted to give it a try and I don’t regret. My skin has not felt like this in ages; even tone in no time. Using it for a week every night has transformed my skin. Thanks to the Ordinary
    Like like like
I've only used this product a few times as it's new for me but it makes my skin feel so lovely, soft and plump! I'm looking to get rid of some fine lines and even skin tone so time will tell if it helps! Does feel warm and tingly but nice.
    Gritty and unpleasant to use
I had to throw this away as so unpleasant to use. It feels very grainy, as though you are smearing diluted sand all over your face. I'm a big fan of Buffet and some of the other serums, and I know it is hard to deliver Vitamin c, but this is a big miss.
    Really good product
Really good product. It is a bit gritty when applying and felt a bit oily on the skin but the results were amazing. I use it in the evenings about 3 times a week, it evens out and brightens my skin tone. The price is also good value for your money. It gets a thumbs up from me.
    Excellent product
After a lot of research I decided to purchase this and I have no regrets. I’ve not even had it long and I can already see a difference in my complexion. Still have a way to go to see if it helps with my pigmentation but so far so good. Yes the texture is strange but it clearly states this in the information regarding the product (on their website) and I find using it at night to be a better way to use it. It has replaced an old and very expensive favourite of mine. Absolutely recommend!!
Chucked it out after two uses
I did not like the texture and how this product felt on my face after application. I tried it again and really did not like it so unfortunately it went in the bin.
    Not for me
The product works okay on my skin and the price is excellent. But the texture is grainy and I hate the smell. On top of that, it makes your face really shiny. I wouldn't buy this again.
Good for my face but not for the hands and nails!
It has worked well on my face, I saw an improvement but after a month of using it I noticed orange patches on my palms and my nails had become orange. I also noticed orange staining on my pillows. I was unsure whether it was the serum but after searching about vitamin c serums it seems to be a common side effect! Not sure it’s worth the orange hands and nails.
    Love it
I love skincare products and discovering new ones...I used this for two weeks and it’s amazing my skin feels smoother and healthier
Good standard but texture could be improved
Great value for money vs. The other vitamin c products in the market. However, it has a gritty texture so difficult to wear with makeup but post evening use, my skin does look refreshed in the morning
I absolutely love this one.. It has mixed reviews but I can honestly say it works for me. My skin has become more even toned since using this. I love waking up in the morning to see that glow. It is very gritty if you don't like that add a few drops of the hyaluronic acid and it dissolves immediately. I like to use it on its own. I haven't experienced any staining but keep it far away from your eyes it burns!
Excellent results in a short time
I am nearly 50yo, fair skinned with some pigmentation issues and living in a hot country. My mature skin tends to have dry bits around the edges but still, an oily t zone and open pores are an issue. I had previously used another the VitC product from the range which I loved but they seem to have discontinued so I purchased this. Currently using at night, and using rosehip oil on the top. Oddly I have not found an issue with the texture and application. I apply a small amount and massage in until it turns gritty. Do something else for 30 secs whilst it is absorbed (no problem with that) then the oil goes on easily. I noticed a little discolouration around my nails as I didn't wash after application but any stains on my pillowcases. This may be because of the oil application on top or because I am faffing about before I go to bed. The results after a week are fab. I can't stop checking out my skin in the mirror lol. I should say that after only 3 days I woke up one morning and before I even looked at my skin I could feel the difference. My pores are also noticeably reduced. I should add that I also bought the matrixyl as well and have been using that in the mornings but I'm pretty certain the textural difference to my skin is this product.
    I am amazed
Hey, you stop searching for vitamin c in any other brand and spending a lot of your pennies. Why go anywhere else when you can get the best of product. I am amazed. My skin texture has improved. My acne scars have started vanishing. It is working on my overall complexion. I am in love with The Ordinary.
Do not try if you have sensitive skin
I have acne-prone skin and this makes me break out badly.
    What I needed
Absolutely in love with this product. Fantastic quality for such low price. My skin likes neither light-weighted serums nor fat nourishing creams. After a while of testing I found that the hyaluronic acid lays perfectly on your skin. Better to use in the evening. And better to use on healthy skin, the product is amazing but it won't solve every problem on your face.
After using I always had a shine on my face and it was soft and smooth. However, it also made my skin too sensitive that by continuous use my skin was starting to get lightly scarred I had to apply Vaseline overnight to make them go. I wouldn't use it daily but about thrice a week.
    Didn't do anything
Unfortunately, this did not seem to work for me, I was using this every day and it just didn't seem to do anything. So now I use it every now and then.
    Changed my mind
After first using this, I saw the benefits but the gritty texture and stinging sensation stopped me from grabbing the tube. However, after reading a hack online my opinion has changed completely. Combining a drop of this with a few drops of the hyaluronic acid 2% completely gets rid of the unpleasant texture and reduces the stinging sensation to a tingle (so you know it’s still working) this helps the product penetrate the skin better and also leaves my skin moisturised. (Would recommend using on an evening as leaves a shine on the face.)
Not sure if this is doing anything...
From the mixed reviews, I was aware this would be quite an odd thing to put on my face, but I decided to give it a go. I am not sure it's doing anything, I've been using it for a month now and I really don't know if I can see any differences. It's definitely not been bad for my skin but perhaps I need to use it more to see the benefits. So I will keep using Vitamin C products, but won't be repurchasing this product. I didn't feel any tingling on my skin, but the problem is that it's not comfortable at all. It's rather greasy and grainy, and once I put it on my face it feels very heavy. I also ended up with an orange pillow... so now I have to put a towel on my pillow before going to bed. This product is too much hassle for me to consider buying again.
    Didn't work for me
Bought it for my uneven skin tone and it has made my hyperpigmentation worse for some reason.
I couldn`t wait to try this after reading the reviews. Not only have I seen absolutely no difference in my skin I can`t believe no one else has said that it stains the pillowcase yellow. Sorry but I can not recommend it and have thrown it away.
I LOVE The Ordinary, every product i have tried so far has been amazing, but this is a total game changer. My skin is literally smooth as silk! I use this at night after one of their serums, and apply my moisturiser on top. In the morning after i cleanse my face, my skin is absolutely smooth, all texture is GONE. My skin looks brighter, clearer and more even, and best of all it feels so much firmer! I will never ever go without this product ever again!!! I only use this at night as it is kind of sticky/greasy, it does recommend PM use on the tube. Do yourself a favour and BUY THIS CREAM RIGHT NOW!!!!!! Just for reference, my skin type is extremely combo. I have dry flakey patches, but also excess oil in the T zone and cheeks. I also have eczema prone sensitive skin and this doesn't cause any issues on my sensitive parts. It does tingle when you apply it, but that fades pretty quickly!
    Contains fake tan
After using this serum a couple of times, I noticed that classic fake tan 'biscuit' smell. My hands are also stained orange. I'm not averse to fake tan but really wish this was made clear in the product description as it's not what I'm after in a serum! Aside from that, it has an ok texture and is quite hydrating.
    Very sticky
I find the consistency very thick and sticky, so would advise using a very small amount on entire face and neck. It is also very grainy, which is ok to use before bed, as it is very slightly abrasive. I find it too sticky to apply before makeup. The tingling sensation is quite strong which gave me a few itchy heat spots. I have also tried The Ordinary AHA peel, which gives the same sensation. This does make me wonder if it is the same ingredient used to give a tingling feeling, rather than the actual active ingredient?
Not a bad word to say
This is the best Vitamin C product I have used. Yes, it has a strong smell and it's best used at night because of the texture, but has done more for my skin than any other product from The Ordinary and I have almost all of them!
    Can’t make up my mind
This was my absolute favourite product from the ordinary for a white, it’s instantly incredibly brightening & I noticed a lot of improvement in my skin, HOWEVER, I have really struggled to layer this product with other elements of my skincare without piling or a ‘greasy’ looking finish. I am now trying to use the 12% vitamin C water-based product from the ordinary as I find this layers much better. Having said that I find this was by far the most visibly brightening between the two so hopefully if I go back to this product and use a very small amount I will be able to make it work for me. Strong pros but strong cons.
    Love the full range
Nice vit c ,make sure you don't use too much, especially if layering with other serums otherwise nice product with a nice price tag.
    The ordinary vitamin C
Amazing product that works. Skin looks smoother, brighter and youthful considering I'm classed as 'mature' that might be but wow this takes my face into reverse.
    Not for me
Stings when I apply on washed and cleansed skin also smears and visibly sits on the skin surface, not penetrating. Try to use it at night just so I can finish the content, presuming the Vit C content is effective, I cant tell. Leaves residue like a smear, if make-up/foundation is applied over it cakes and leaves a very distasteful finish. Definitely will not be replacing.
Love this Vitamin C! Read before you order it
I’m an Indian with pretty oily skin. I usually have acne concerns around my forehead and chin. There were some really stubborn invisible breakouts on my chin that were painful. I started using ordinary products a few months but hadn’t included Vitamin C into my regime. I bought my first tube a couple of weeks ago and started using it religiously on alternate nights along with Hyaluronic serum. Within 2 weeks, I could see my acne scars reduce and skin so much clearer. And most importantly the bumps on my chin came to head and they’re finally cleaning up. The consistency of this one may not be the best and will also sting, but if you build up resistance with slow usage, it can do wonders to your skin. Hope this helps!
    Not for sensitive skin
Not suitable for my sensitive skin. The texture is very grainy and even mixed with my hyaluronic acid serum it still doesn't sit well on the skin. After a few applications, my face was very red and bumpy and so I had to stop using it.
    LOVE! Just use it correctly..
I LOVE this Vit C! Use it at night only, after cleansing, maybe pop an essence on, then l a little Buffet or CAIS, then go in with this, sparingly! Let the little scrubby bits get to work, wash your hands, follow up with oil or night cream, wash your hands again (to stop the fake tan smell) Wake up with new, glowy, smooth, poreless skin. Hyperpigmentation is a frequent concern for black skin and this works wonders for me, almost as effective as the Exfolikate treatment. Will use this until they dare to discontinue.
    Gritty, runny and stains
The texture was surprising, it's quite gritty and runny. You can easily apply too much. It's quite oily once mas applied to the skin so definitely a PM use. I noticed in the morning I had orange hands and pillow case! I did some research and turns out some products of vit c oxidises and cause the skin to turn orange like self tan. Was not impressed, my silk pillowcase has been ruined. The price is good, not sure if it's the best version of vit c.
    First and last bottle
I'm not a fan of this but seem to keep coming back for more. I mix it with my serum to soften the gritty texture, but it can tend to make my skin burn a little bit. Not sure I will get more when it eventually runs out.
Weir texture that leave residuals and cannot be absurd
This Vitamin C along with the Inkey list vitamin C all have kind of powdery texture and hard to dissolve when layering with my Glow recipe sleeping mask and Medik8 retinal even though it didn't sting my skin ( probably because it couldn't be absorbed, I reckon all of the amounts turned into residuals which hard to blend)
    Caused acne
Sadly, for me I suspect this is the reason for a pretty bad acne break out. Stuck with it for a skin cycle as I hoped it was just because it was a new active ingredient but the zits just got worse. I’ve never had any luck with any of The Ordinary products I’ve tried. Officially given up!
    Not sure?
Purchased as my first vitamin c product, I’m 28 and I’m really trying to start investing in my skin before I have any problems! The product gives me a slight tingling of the skin which is fine, and I really didn’t mind the texture either. I started using the product every AM and PM but found my skin breaking out, which isn’t like my skin at all. I tried to persevere for 2 weeks with it being a new product but then dropped the product in the AM thinking I might see an improvement in breakouts but wasn’t so lucky. I’ve used it for 3 weeks in total but I’ve stopped using and my skin has since cleared up and is back to normal! Not sure if that’s normal for vit c products?? So I haven’t benefited from this product at all or seen any improvements in my skin at all. Hopefully I will with another vit c product!
    The ordinary vit c cream
    Absolutely amazing ❤️
I love this serum!! The bad reviews give points that are easily sorted. 1. Complaints about wearing it under make up - the product says pm is better. 2. Stained nails - wash your hands after applying. 3. Stained pillows - apply a good hour before sleeping.I’ve been using this a couple weeks now only at night and seen a massive difference in my skin. I did turn my pillow yellow the first week but it washed out and now I apply it at least an hour before going to sleep and haven’t had anything on my pillow again. My skin is so much brighter and it’s really helped clear it up. Will definitely be buying again, absolute bargain
Lots of love to the ordinary ❤️
I just love this. It has Metallics smell (little weird) but its magical I have mixed with HA and my skin is so smooth and spot free now. I just can’t stop buying this again and again.
    Very good in moderation
This product is very good, does what it says on the tin, but just be careful about the amount you put on if I put just a tiny bit more than I should I will break out in a rash for a few days. It’s very potent. But at least you know it’s working.
    Anything but ordinary!
Love the way this product makes my skin look and feel. Instantly brighter and softer. Just wish they offered a bigger size
    Love it!
I’ve used this for over a year and love it! It does tingle sometimes but so worth it. My skin is glowing. I’ve tried a couple of other brand vitamin c’s but always come back this after only a couple of uses.
    Works Wonders
No, this product doesn't have the best smell (although it isn't over powering or long lasting). Yes, it does tingle in the early days, to the point where I wanted to itch my face in - the - worst- way. But patience paid off, and my skin has not looked this good in many years. Many of my dark spots are almost gone, and my skin tone looks almost as good as when I was a teenager!
    Patience is key
This serum can be a very tricky texture to work with(like rubbing glitter on your face). Over the course of a week I tried it daily in the AM with a variety of products- -mixing with moisturiser- was too oily for the summer time -mixing with argineline - was quite comfortable -applying by itself- was fine on a cooler day but on warm days it’s too greasy - applying with HA- worked best, but just one drop if it’s the ordinary HA, as it’s quite sticky if you use too much By the end of one week trying and testing aside, there was notable change in acne scars, It’s been one month since I first started using this, I didn’t have any unrealistic expectations from this, but yet, the acne marks are down to a pin dot size. I can confidently say this is working.
    Very smelly!
Agree with all the comments about the texture but it seems to be good at brightening my skin HOWEVER I cannot use it because of the very strong metallic smell it has. When I first used it I drove myself crazy trying to pinpoint where the strong iron smell was coming from, and my husband informed me it was me! The smell also lingers after I've washed my face - it really is so strong. Shame.
I was expecting a serum texture like but it was a gritty exfoliating texture and I definitely do not want to put it on my face it was gross enough on my hand it doesn’t blend just stays a gritty texture on your skin. Don’t buy.
    Definitely not for daytime
This suspension has 23% vitamin C spheres in it. This means the suspension is slightly oily and cannot be smoothed over the face like a cream or gel serum can be. I found that when I tried to smooth it into my skin by sweeping it on with my fingers all the product balls up and feels gritty and leaves lumps on your face. It's horrible. The texture is horrible and honestly isn't worth it even if it is cheap. I used this product by dabbing it onto my skin with my fingertips which wasn't great as with Vitamin C you should wear a SPF. I wore my la-roche posay one and when I started to sweep it onto my face the vitamin C starting balling up with the SPF and wouldn't soak into my face. Nearly gave this review a 1 just based on how much I disliked the product. I do feel like if you wear it at night and dab it on it will work and penetrate the skin. It feels tingly on the skin so initially, I would use it every other day. Recommendation: no!! Do not buy it! There are many better ones out there!
    Thumbs up
I've been using this for the past two weeks (PM) and I can see it is starting to work (I have oily skin prone to acne and painful under the skin cysts). Although it tingles when applied, it smooths the skin pretty instantly. At first, it caused my chin to break out but the spots would appear overnight and heal during the day. In the morning, my skin can be oily but it feels healthy, glowy and hydrated. Overall, I'm happy with this product and I know it'll work in the long term. My only criticism comes in regards to packaging; the tub is slightly awkward to use as the solution is quite liquid. The first time I used it, I wasted some of it as it spilt everywhere. Apart from that, 5*.
    Give it some time
At first it was really sticky on my face and felt really oily but after a week of using it my skin let it in smooth and nice, gives a glow effect that is really nice!
    First impression
It's too early to tell if it's working but I am using it alongside other products and quite like what I see so far. It's quite grainy but it feels nice like I'm exfoliating my skin. I don't get any tingling sensation but my skin is quite tough. It sinks in then feels like a rich moisturiser. Don't lick your lips though as it tastes gross. I wake up in the morning and my skin feels oily but in a good way if that makes sense. I remove the product and then apply a morning exfoliator... worth a try - especially for the price.
    LOVE this stuff!
Amazing product - has helped to control my breakouts whilst also brightening my skin and reducing acne scarring. Yes, the product is slightly gritty but I found working the product into the skin by gently pushing it in helps to ensure the 'grittiness' doesn't remain on your face.
So this product gives me great results - glass-like skin with less texture smooths wrinkles and firms at an amazing price.
    Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%
    Nothing crazy.
    hate it
Purchased as a replacement for the Drunk Elephant C Firma - which I liked a lot but oh the price! £££! Well I guess you get what you pay for because am not a fan of this at all - read the reviews again after being displeased by the texture so started to use it at night only, which does work better.... but honestly my skin is now dryer and broken out in areas it never has before. I've been persevering as hoped it was just a phase of getting used to it but I'm throwing in the towel now. The hunt continues for an affordable vitamin c!
    Love! Just use it right..
I do not use this in the daytime! I use this before bed and wake up with incredible skin every time. Yes, it’s gritty, yes, it tingles and no, it’s not rammed full of perfumes. Just know that and go with it anyway - don’t attempt to use it under your make up (unless you like a full routine every day) if you want to get up and go with smoother, even toned, poreless skin, use it at night.
    No no no
Awful. It’s grainy, it smells horrible and it just seems to sit on my skin for hours. It doesn’t get adsorbed in my skin at all. What a disappointment.
needs other products to work with but great results
When I first got this, I just tried using this as a serum. The texture was horrible, it felt like I was rubbing face cream with sand in it on my face, but now I think I have figured out how to use it. I mix the smallest amount I can get out of the tube (which disposes a lot of product at once, way more than you need) with my moisturiser and a few drops of a HA serum and the terrible texture is gone, and it also doesn't tingle. It's a bit of a process, so if you just wanna slap something on your face and be done, this is probably not for you. The smell is also not pleasant but it's not bad, I take it over something with a fragrance. It's really made my skin just lot more brighter and the texture on my forehead seems to be so much better since I started using this. Also, very good packaging for a product that's sensitive to light, big plus on that.
    Great product, will purchase again
I've used it a handful of times so far (every other night, alternating with another product) and some recent acne scars are already fading faster than they usually do. The product has a slight heating effect for me rather than a tingle or stinging sensation, but no adverse reactions. I don't have sensitive skin but it can be fussy, and it seems perfectly happy with this. I would recommend applying it at night, however, as my makeup would definitely slip off with the texture of this suspension. Some of the other reviews complain about how gritty it is, but I found it's really a very mild grittiness that you can only feel when you're applying it, and doesn't bother me at all. The smell is fine, not good but not awful. I also haven't experienced any of the orange pillow stains some reviewers seem to, but that could be down to any number of factors. Overall very happy with it, have wanted to introduce vitamin C into my routine for a while and this is the perfect thing for it. The price point is also, as always, great.
    Weird texture
I have so many products from The Ordinary and love them, but the texture of this is a bit odd for me. I get that it’s the spheres but just feels grainy and like I need to wipe it off!!
I don’t really have super sensitive skin but this burned my face. I also don’t love the texture it is quite grainy. I started just putting this on my forehead wrinkles which is fine and I don’t really get a reaction to it, but I can’t really tell if it makes a difference. I’ve tried a handful of the Ordinary products and some of them are amazing but this isn’t one I would buy again.
    Absolute gamechanger!
This is the first product I’ve tried that’s ever made a noticeable difference in how my skin looks. I’ve been using it for a about a month now, and my skin’s never looked smoother and brighter. My texture has improved loads and my skin looks healthy and glowy for once! Yes, the texture of this Vitamin C is a bit grainy, but that’s the whole point of the spheres! It doesn’t feel weird on the skin once applied as it doesn’t leave any residues, but it can always be mixed in with a moisturiser if it really bothers you. If you’re looking for a great Vitamin C, you can’t go wrong with The Ordinary - cheap as chips too!
Hi I have been using the hyaluronic acid for a few weeks now. I tried it in combination with your vitamin c suspension but I found that the two combined was too strong for me and really burned my skin, but I still use the hyaluronic acid in combination with super drug vitamin c serum and it works for me. My skin is pretty ancient I was born in the late 1940s so I have a few smile lines, this combo makes my skin soft and smooth I still have wrinkles but hey ho, my make up goes on very well. I'm going to try your eye serum next. By the way the ordinary vitamin c serum and hyaluronic acid work very well on my hands knees and elbows mixed with my body lotion.
    The Ordinary
A good vitamin C serum. Cheap for what it offers.
    skin complexion
Very good. My skin is looking bright and smooth.
Love this product and have just ordered my second bottle. The formulation takes a little to get used to but once you get the knack for what amount works for you (and pat the product in rather than rub) the product really works to brighten the skin. The only thing I would improve is if it layered a little better under foundation.
    Cracked the code
I used to struggle with acne, and with a good skincare routine, I've come a long way. The only thing I couldn’t quite get was to even out my skin tone and get rid of acne marks. I knew I wanted to try a vitamin C since I had tried the Drunk Elephant one, and that one made my skin glow. Now I must say this is quite a difficult product to figure out, and I tried it for a week in many different ways but they weren’t all convenient and didn’t quite work. Until I read a review about how you should mix it with the hyaluronic acid! Wow, this works, and this way you also barely feel the graininess, not that I minded. It is still a little greasy on the skin, but as someone with dry skin, I don’t really mind that overnight. In a few days I found that my complexion is glowing and almost completely even!! Once you figure this one out, it’s an absolute game changer.
Don’t buy unless you want orange hands that smell like fake tan.
I bought this recently and only used it once. It turned my hands orange and they smelled really strongly of fake tan the next day. I don’t wear fake tan and I thought the smell was awful. Would not recommend.
I've cracked the code on this one
The trick to using this one is to dilute it with a bit of your regular moisturiser. I'd say about half-and-half does it. Don't just slap it on directly or it WILL sting and will definitely feel all gross and oily and gritty on your skin. That out of the way, I've been using this for about a week and a half now, and I've seen some pretty impressive results. My skin tone looks evened out, my skin feels softer, and is much brighter and radiant than it was before. I'm happy with this product and would buy it again.
    Good value for money
I use this only at night as it doesn’t soak into my skin fully. However the next morning the fine lines are gone and skin looks brighter. I also apply it after dermarolling and it hurts like hell but the next day my skin looks fantastic. Great value for money
    Brilliant Product
This product replaced my regular Vitamin C oil. This is a quarter of the price produces results that are brilliant despite the consistency being "different, " and I have just received my second order. I cleanse my make up now in the evening and apply my Vitamin C straight after. Value for money - perfect , skin - even tone and brighter.
    Hello Glow
I have used this product for almost 2 weeks now, and I see results. I can see that my overall skin texture has improved, and I have brightness and a nice glow in the morning. I use this product only at night, along with 2 other Ordinary products and a moisturizer to seal on top, and they are working well for my skin. Yes, there is that gritty feel with what I assume is the powder Vitamin C that is used in the product, but I am okay with it, as they probably cut out excess refinement labor to keep the prices low. At this price point, I am willing to cut out the "feel good skincare" experience as long as it provides results. Happy with the purchase!
    Reaction with makeup
I didn't see much results from it so far, but I'll give it some more time though. Just wanted to say that I don't recommend putting it in the morning since today it made my brow pencil ORANGE on my skin, so watch out for possible reaction with makeup.
Stings a lot and gritty as hell
I bought this to ramp up my skincare routine, but it's such a high concentration of Vitamin C... it stings when you apply it and it just sits on the skin and dries, leaving a gritty film - rather than soaking in like I assumed it would do.. I am going to persevere with it in my uneven areas, but I probably wouldn't buy again. I definitely don't recommend applying in the morning due to how it dries. If you wear make up the texture will also make applying a base more difficult.
    Vitamin C.
Omg I love this stuff. For the low price it’s amazing. I have always struggled with hyperpigmentation and use this at least 3-4 times a week and boy had my skin took a turn for the better. 5 out of 5?
    Not a fan
I've used 20% vitamin c for 2 years by another brand and thought to try this. 1. Cant abide the smell of this, like plastic or petroleum by product 2. It feels extremely oily and sits on skin. I have normal, unblemished skin. 3. I gave it a week but it did nothing for my face like my other vit C serum. Discontinuing use.
    Vit C Cream
This cream feels like it is working for me after a month. I use every morning. It is gritty and can sting a bit, but I do feel my skin is softer and more pores have shrunk considerably. I have been using in conjunction with a Retinol so maybe that helps too. I will keep using this, I like it!
    Worth a try
I've used this for a few weeks now and I'm on my second tube, bought due to bargain price. The texture is quite grainy but seems to absorb okay when followed by another serum or oil. My skin seems a little more lively from using it.
    Brilliant product!
Brilliant results! Yes the texture is glittery/sandy but who cares when the results are beautiful on the skin. I had awful uneven skin texture and tone, large pores, oily cheeks and forehead. The Ordinary Salicylic Acid followed by this cream has sorted it all out. Highly recommend x
I never been a skin care addict. I really hate using moisturiser as it leaves my skin greasy and heavy. After using this yes only for a couple of days my skin feels softer and doesn’t look greasy after application. Fingers crossed it helps with my dark circles.
I got this 2 months back but didn't use it regularly. I was having such a bad breakout situation for some reason this past week and nothing worked. Decided to give this a try and the very next morning things started to calm down. The scarring visibly lightened. Only thing is use this far far away from the eyes. I mistakenly rubbed some in my eyes while sleeping and it burned! And the next day my eyes was a bit swollen. I've repurchased! And will continue to do so.
I fall in love with it
I have been using it for a couple of months and it's amazing. Applying for a night for even skin tone in the morning.
    I love it
I was fighting with my post pregnancy pigmentation, but nothing was working for me, until I tried this one. I didn't believe it could help me from the beginning, but after 2 weeks I saw first result. My 90 % of pigmentation gone. I keep using it and I'm so happy that my friend introduced me The Ordinary.
    Good but...
I really like this product but after using it for a few weeks I noticed that my hands had gone orange and smelled like fake tan. I don’t use fake tan, so I looked into it and the sun can turn an ingredient in the cream into the same chemical that is in fake tans and produces that smell we all associate with it. I now only use this at night along with some moisturiser and make sure to wash my hands after. No problems since and you can see great results!
    Strange texture but works
The texture of this takes a bit of getting used to at first. Initially I did not like it at all, however I was using far too much product which left my skin super greasy for hours. I've found it best to use after an acid step as a treatment - i.e. more of a mask that you massage in and then leave on for as long as you can and then gently rinse off with a cloth. Now on my second bottle as I really found it worked for fines lines and even tone and texture. Highly recommend.
Brighter skin, strong result & not a normal serum
The texture is so weird like everyone else said. My skin can not absorb it AT ALL, but however, if I somehow managed to bear the glittery feeling on my skin it does offer a pretty nice result which lights up my face next morning even I stay up late. It could be handier if they present it in a bottle rather than a tube because it's hard to control the amount coming out with the tube. I tried to mix it with oil or cream to see if it can be absorbed more easily. It turned out doesn't work. Plus I always worried it would stain my pillow and quilt when I slept. Overall, I am not going to repurchase this one though it works. But it's cheap after all, worth a try.
    Not for sensitive skins
Tingling sensation very strong. Stay away from it if your skin is sensitive.
    Would totally recommend
After a month of usage, I noticed that it brightened my skin and treated my uneven skin tone. The texture is gritty and it does sting a bit but I'm totally okay with it since I use it at night. It's a must-have, really.
    Not on my repurchase list
Smells like fake tan, has turned my palms orange, even when I wash my hands after use it gets in around my nails and hard/dry bits of skin, looking like I've done a bad fake tan. Too grainy for me personally, this probably isn't for you if you don't like silicone based products. Can't say I've noticed much of a difference from using this. Takes a long time to sink in and does pill if you haven't left long enough between applying next product.
    Serious skin care
This was one of those"I don't really know what I'm buying deals. The first night I used it I applied it lazily before bed, noticed a tingling sensation on my face but that was expected, but when I woke the next morning my skin looked so luscious & plump I couldn't believe it (then I noticed my nails & hands were dyed orange, apparently u should wash carefully bc it will collect & dye around the nail area). I can't say enough good things about this, only don't be intimidated by the tingling is the vitamin c at work. LOVE The Ordinary.
Amazing if you don’t mind a bit of a sting
This is amazing, if you can deal with a bit of a sting on your face for a few minutes after applying it. The texture is a little strange but I just lightly apply it to bed. I have only used it a few times and I can already see a huge difference in my skin!! I never usually leave reviews on products but I had to for this one, my skin feels amazing, ride through the weird texture and the sting because it is 10000% worth it.
    Do read the small print
This product is amazing and powerful, however, it DOES tingle and has a weird texture after application. However, it's something Deciem wants about on their website so I knew what I was getting into. At this price point, this cream is super potent and my skin has a healthy glow the morning after using this.
This is really a great vitamin C, and I've experienced far better results with this one, than with products that cost ten times as much. I use the cream at night without anything on top, as they recommend, it does not layer well with other products on top, and yes it is gritty, but that is a small price to pay, when the results are so amazing - radiant, smooth and plump skin.
    Very effective and controllable
I've seen great results with this after one week. I added a pea sized amount to some Korean bamboo water gel and applied to face and neck. It soothes and plumps and evens out the skin. I'd recommend adding it to a very mild gel/watery moisturiser to get the maximum benefit from the HA content and to minimize risk of irritation. I will alternate this with retinoid treatment.
Great if you are on a budget and don't mind the texture
It's made clear on the Ordinary website that this product has a strange texture, but is a stable way of delivering a high concentration of vitamin C. I went for it to see if the efficacy would trump the texture. I applied it in the evening initially, as directed by the Ordinary website. The texture is like a very fine sand in a watery gel, that starts to break down as you apply. Leaving for a minute or two seems to help it absorb to reduce the texture when applying other products on top- it also helps not to apply too much. I found that I woke up in the morning with orangey stains on my pillow from the oxidised vitamin C (in a hotel for work at the time so I don't know for sure if it washed out!) so I switched to daytime use. This also made more sense to me to reap the antioxidant support in addition to my SPF. I found not applying too much and waiting for absorption meant I had no trouble layering products afterwards, and there was no visible residue or anything. I don't wear full make up so can't comment on that but had no issues with my concealer. I had no staining of anything orange with daytime use. Oh- and the product remained white throughout my use over several weeks so was definitely not oxidising and losing its efficacy in the bottle. Big thumbs up for that. I have no specific pigmentation issues, but did notice that my skin looked brighter and more even. However, I found the faff of waiting to apply other products gradually stopped me using this, as well as just not really enjoying the use. It has made me interested in vit C and I am looking at working up through the other budget alternatives without the texture problem as I think I would do better with a lower concentration product that I feel more inclined to use! But if you want a rock bottom priced product that does the job then it is perfectly good.
If you have acne scars, this is the ONE
Acne scars were a big issue for me. I tried so many things but they wouldn't go anywhere UNTIL I tried this product. Within a week all my scars were gone and everyone around me noticed a huge difference in my skin tone. The texture is sandy/grainy - if that makes sense? so it is not the best option to put under makeup. In the first week I used it everyday in the morning after toner and then put on some moisturizer. now, i use it either in the morning of Make-up free days or at night. If you have pigmentation or scars, BUY this. No need to mention price is a steal.
    Strangely gritty
Of all the products in The Ordinary's wonderful range, this is the one I like the least. It's gritty, like a strong exfoliator. This means it's hard to use under moisturiser, let alone makeup, and feels very odd indeed for a serum. I'll persevere because the rest of the range is great, but this one isn't very appealing or user friendly. No big difference from using so far either. Note like like a few of these products, you should not use under the eye area.
