This multipurpose powerhouse uses a modified sulphate derivative called SLES-2 (at a minimal concentration of just 4%) as a cleansing agent to dissolve the barrier between dirt and oil on your skin, scalp and hair. Disappointed
I was quite excited to buy this shampoo, as I enjoy many of 'The Ordinary' products. I have thick long hair with natural colour, so I like to use different scrubs or deep cleansing shampoos every other wash. Unfortunately, it took a massive amount of product to just cover my scalp, there is little to no foaming and it was quite a poor product to work with, feeling almost dry, which is strange. Once rinsed and left to dry naturally, my hair was very dry and left feeling stripped. I couldn't in good conscious, recommend this product. The only circumstances I can think it would be useful, is if you're hair is very greasy or you have extreme built up. Use it as a second wash, then proceed with a third wash and conditioner with a different brand. Too much bother to be worth it. P

Great shampoo, my hair has been a lot better since using this
I’ve been using this for about 8 months now, and growing my hair out from shaving it off. My hair is definitely a lot shinier and healthier than before, and I can go longer between washes. I have used a similar (but more expensive) product before and I would say this is actually just as good, if not better, it doesn’t foam much so bear that in mind. You don’t need to use much either.

Good option for fragrance free bodywash
The shampoo combo body wash, I only used it as body wash. I have used this cleanser a couple times now and I feel that it does a very good job of cleaning. I honestly didn't expect much but this sulphate cleanser is really very good. The cleanser lifted lots of impurities from my skin and the dead skin just washed away.

Great shampoo
I'm on my second bottle and I'm definitely going to buy more. I have fine hair with oily scalp and this shampoo helps to clean my scalp whilst being gentle at the same time. I use it along the Ordinary conditioner. I've used an incredible amount of shampoos and I can honestly say, this one is one of the best and for a great price.

Very sensitive scalp and this shampoo was brilliant. Hair felt clean but not stripped. Very low/no foam though, so if you like bubbles this probably isn't for you.

Gentle
It's a bit runny, but I soon got used to that. Actually I like that now because it's liquidy & easier to get the product on your scalp to clean it, I have thick, dry, wavy hair. I don't have dandruff, but get an itchy scalp. So far it's been the best unfragranced shampoo I've tried for my itches. It doesn't lather that much, I guess that's why it's gentle, I may have to use a little bit more after first amount, but as long as a give a good massage it always does a great job of gently cleaning. I love it and have repurchased. Have tried the conditioner, wasnt so impressed for my dry hair, but I may need to leave it on longer as I only left it on a few minutes.

I have suffered with an itchy scalp for years and can only use very few shampoos. I haven’t used sulphates for years, but I was curious after reading about this new shampoo. So I tried it and first 2 washes no itching and hair felt clean, light (made my natural wave drop out quickly it was so soft) and didn’t go greasy quickly which was nice. It doesn’t lather up much and with long hair and a hard water area I had to use more. I also used the conditioner. So was feeling hopeful, then 3rd wash I couldn’t stop itching. I thought try one more time, but the same maybe worse I couldn’t stop itching, after it started to dry. I had to re-wash my hair with my old shampoo to get some relief 😮💨
