Didn't agree with my skin
I have been using Medik8 Crystal Retinals for over two years, but I decided to try The Ordinary Retinal since it’s much more affordable. I have combination, sensitive, and acne-prone skin, and I tend to break out from harsh ingredients and actives. I transitioned directly from Medik8 10 to this stronger formula, which was quite a jump. I applied it to my entire face and neck right away, but I probably should have tested it on a small area first, as it unfortunately caused breakouts for me. I think it’s just too strong for my skin type, so I’ll be returning to Medik8 and working my way up to their 20. However I’m glad I tried it since it’s so much cheaper; it’s definitely worth seeing if your skin can tolerate it! I do also prefer the texture of the Medik8 one, this one is more runny. But again, fraction of the price...

Best retinal yet
I have tried lots of different retinals at different price points and will stick with this one as it’s the highest strength I have seen on the market and has a nice texture. Only downside is that it has the strong yellow colour that they all have which stains your fingernails. It’s also a small bottle.
