It's ok
Read a few reviews on this and thought I'd give it a go. As soon as I put this on I knew it wasn't for me. I got an overwhelming fruity scent and it stayed like that for many hours. It actually gave me a headache in the end and I tried to wash it off. It still lingered for a while after that. If you like stong fruity fragrances you'll probably enjoy this one.

I got this in the Cult Beauty Advent box and was excited by the name Dark Rum. I went in expecting something on the gourmand spectrum but to me it reads strongly of soap or air freshener. On me it's smells very much of overly strong dryer sheets and I wasn't a fan. The positive if you like the smell is that it is very long-wearing. It lasted till I took a shower again and even then I could still faintly smell it. On my, the long-wearing scent is not a positive because I don't like the smell, but I would look at other scents from this brand because I feel like the quality of the oil and the sillage are top notch.

Different to what I expected
But different doesn’t mean bad!! It isn’t as sweet as I expected based on reviews and I do like a gourmand scent but I really like the unisex side of it and definitely see myself wearing this regularly!

Very long lasting
Got this in my Cult Beauty Advent Calendar - I'm really impressed, my fragrance lasted all day for me. It's not quite a scent I enjoy as it's a little muskier than my personal preference but if you like that sort of scent it's definitely the one for you, and I can't fault the quality!

I don't agree that the oil lasts longer, doesn't for me. For it is great for touch ups when out. And the smell is hands down my absolute favourite in this world!

Slightly Sweet, Spicy and Oh. So. Decadent
I am a perfume/scent nut, and it was love at first sniff when I opened my CB Advent Calendar. If you're worried about smelling like you've had a great night out with your good mate, Captain Morgan, don't worry - it's not a boozy/sickly scent. It opens with a fruity sweetness, and as it wears on, it becomes deeper, spicier, almost earthy with hints of leather and patchouli as it goes. I would say it is a unisex scent, definitely something I would wear on a regular basis. If you love you light, spring florals, this may not be for you (try wearing it in the evening, or in the colder months), but if you love those rich, slightly spicy almost gourmand scents that you can wear all day, every day (especially in Autumn/Winter, then this is for you!
