Terrible for price

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I bought this after many people said it was an excellent sunscreen for under makeup... however I’ve tried to work with this so many times and it just keeps pilling. I thought maybe it could be due to the products I’m using underneath it so I tried using on bare skin and it still manages to pill. Literally a waste of £29. Soooo disappointed!!!!!

Disappointed

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

Love Drunk Elephant and have tried most of the products but this sunscreen is not good. It pills very easily, especially if you mix it with products that are not in the same range and it leaves a white cast. It's thick - l now usually mix it with the sunshine drops but despite them saying that's OK l am sure the efficaciousness of the SPF is effected. The only product so far that l would not recommend or repurchase.

Drunk Elephant Physical Sun screen

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Really like the formula, it feels nice and hydrating. The consistency is a tiny bit gritty but that's always the case with this type of sunscreen. It leaves a white cast and a slight greasy finish that disappears after 20 mins or so. I think it's kind of over priced as you can get similar ones for a better price, but it works with my sensitive skin.

Comically bad

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I don't even know what to say. It comes out of the tube like runny, gritty, greasy paint. Applied to the skin it... curdles. I can't even call it pilling, it's more like it's stringy and curdly. Maybe chunky even. I've tried it over serums and just straight on the skin, and it doesn't work either way. It just does not want to cooperate. I don't think this product should have been released, it is just unusable. There are loads of mineral sunscreens that manage to be cosmetically elegant, I don't see how a huge company like DE couldn't manage to make one.

Kinda oily

Definitely leaves a white cast. Too oily to put on face underneath makeup. I will only suggest using this on the neck if you have a lighter skin tone on the face and want them to match.

Nice sunscreen

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

I really like the consistency and sun protection in this product. I have really dry skin, so I need serum and moisturiser underneath, because it clings to the dry spots on my face. It gives a nice glow to the face - almost like a discreet highlighter. It leaves a thin layer on the face, but that is to be expected from a mineral sunscreen, and it is great for people like me with really dry skin, because it makes it feel less dry. I did not mind. Bottom line: good product. If I don't find anything better, I will buy this again.

Not as expected

Resembles coconut cream with bits or like watery cream cheese... It takes awhile to rub in and absorb. Sometimes it will pill but not all the time.

Disappointed - whitecast; pilling

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

If you're lighter skinned and don't wear makeup then this might be for you. I'm medium toned and wear makeup daily so this is not for me. It left a whitecast which took some time to reduce in appearance but was still somewhat visible. Also experience pilling throughout the day when wearing makeup. Perhaps it's because I use a face oil, I'm not sure.

Not completely happy

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

Does not leave a white cast and goes very matte, but... it dries out my skin a lot. So a moisturiser underneath is a must but that gives pilling issues.
