    The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics Reviews

    Thank God
Now I am not one to write reviews but I thought this might help someone. I was using The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid then I found this. I have oily/combo skin but I need all the moisture I can get otherwise my skin starts to overproduce oil and breaks out. This is my new holy grail.
I love how much lighter this is with no residue/flakiness, yet it's still really moisturising. Yes it is very watery but I have perfected the art of application and it's most certainly worth it.
    Amazing alternative to hyaluronic acid!
Having had many issues with hyaluronic acid causing my skin to break out, I was really excited to try this as an alternative. The texture is almost like water but sinks in really effectively. After just one day of using this product, my skin feels more hydrated and looks significantly plumper than it did before. A really lovely product that is easy to integrate into existing skincare routines, highly recommend!
    Amazing for combo skin
I love this so much and so much more than The Ordinary's Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. The texture is so much nicer and not sticky, with no tendency to pill. Just remember to always apply on to damp/just misted/post-essence skin, as with all hydrating serums if you really want to see all benefits! This is so underrated, but I just think people don't use it properly!
Tried this one instead of the HA + B5 which is what I would usually go for. Much more of a watery consistency however I felt as though this sunk into my skin amazingly. Found it more difficult to hold the product in my hand and press onto my skin hence giving it a 4 star, however would still recommend as my skin definitely felt more hydrated. (Used this after cleansing, and toner.)
    Great for dry skin!
This serum is lightweight and hydrating. I fell in love with this product once I had put it on my face. I have dry to combination skin and this gave my dry patches that extra moisture boost they needed.
    best moisturizing serum
This serum is indeed very lightweight, it hydrates and soothes the skin. Best product from THE ORDINARY.
    My favourite
Very hydrating, I love the watery texture. The smell really reminds me of sea a little bit. (I have combo skin prone to acne, little bit on the sensitive skin side)
No issue with a smell, however, it is so watery that I am losing half of it on my dressing table every morning. Purchased as my normal HA from Inkey List was out of stock, I will be patient next time and wait for it to be restocked rather then rebuy Marine Hyaluronic.
The watery texture surprised me put this serum works like a dream, making my skin feel plump and hydrated 24/7.
    Marine hyaluronics
A great product I have been using it for a while now. It plumps and hydrates my skin perfectly. Yes as other reviewers say the smell is not that great but it does not last that long. I think some people are missing the point of The Ordinary products, they are the products you find in expensive brands in their purest form without the nice smells added as well as other stuff to the products which bump up the price significantly. Great products that do the job as well as some of the high end products I have previously used, don’t be put off by the smell .
    loved it
I had acne treatment with pills and my skin was very dry but this product makes my skin better than before.
    Very good product
This one is the best hydrating serum which suits for me.
    Not that great
I don't like it that much... the smell is horrible and I don't feel like it hydrates almost at all, maybe it's better to use in summer.
Great help for dry and flaky skin.
    Smells bad
Unfortunately this smells terrible - a bit like puke. I also found it a bit light for my skin and dont feel like it does much. First Ordinary fail for me as I generally love their stuff, I prefer the normal hyaluronic acid which is great.
    I love it
This must be my favourite The Ordinary product. It is such a lightweight hydrator and it always calms down my skin. The smell can be unpleasant at first but it fades away quite quickly.
    Awful smell
It smells just like vomit. Good moisturising.
it smells, but it's a great product.
    Good vibes of water.
    Not Sure
Firstly I really like Ordinary products and always open to trying new ones. So I purchased this one especially with my 48-year-old skin - hydration is my focus area but sorry ordinary, like so many others, the smell is just really bad (like old cheese) as far as the results, still pending. If anything extraordinary will comeback. Think I will be sticking to HA & B2, it really does the trick!
    Light and absorbs nicely
Ran out of HA and bought this Marine Hyaluronic and found it is very light (almost like water) and absorbs fast into the skin. Just ordered my 2nd bottle.
    Horrible smell
Didn't notice any moisturising benefits - I have combination skin. The smell is really bad - sort of cheesy like something has gone off. Really unpleasant to use.
    Nice hydration but the smell....
This serum gives me really decent hydration that I didn't really expect from such a watery formula. It amps up every face cream and makes it way more effective. It doesn't clog my pores and it actually soothes already existing breakouts. And the price is great as always with The Ordinary. But the smell. I've read some reviews and thought that some people are just way more sensitive and I wouldn't mind it. Oh, boy was I wrong. I do have to breathe through my mouth when applying this and I'm not exaggerating. I love how it works but I'm not fully sure I'm going to buy it again.
    Great product
I have mild acne and my skin gets super dehydrated and this has worked lovely and my overall skin condition has improved a lot so will def keep this product in my skincare routine.
    So close to being perfect...
It moisturizes my skin really well and amps up any average moisturizer. I actually really like the watery consistency as it makes the product absorb quicker and doesn't make my skin feel super greasy. And it doesn't clog my pores! If not for the super stinky smell, it would have been one of my staples. Unfortunately it is one of the products that you have to apply while breathing through your mouth.
    Love it!
This is sooo amazing! I used to suffer from terribly dry and flaky skin and this has made it almost completely disappear. Anyone who has dry skin needs this! I even did a full review of it on my Instagram. Can’t recommend this enough!
Cleared up eczema and acne within 5 uses!
I didn’t realise how dry my skin was and how much it was contributing to my acne until I started using this. Everyone complains about the smell but tbh it’s nothing. A faint whiff and then it’s gone. And I’m on my third bottle so have tried different batches. It’s thin so you apply from the dropper and pat it into your skin until it feels sticky wait less than a minute and it’s gone. I apply it in the middle of my routine right before my vitamin c in the morning or my retinol and night. I think it speeds up my skincare routine because once I put it on it feels like it forces everything you put on before into your skin and you can layer on your final steps quicker. In case you can’t tell I’m a huge fan.
Hope will be as good as hyaluronic acid.
I'm a fan of all the products of The Ordinary and wanted to try this one because contains hyaluronic acid, but is very watery and the smell tho OMG. It stings. I'll give it a try but doesn't feel like the normal hyaluronic acid.
    Heaven sent
I lost count on how many times I have purchased this serum. It's the best hyaluronic acid out there. It's very watery (which I love because I have oily skin) so keep that in mind if you like more sticky serums. I love the texture I love the plump it gives to my skin. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this. I just wish it came in a bigger size.
    Smoothed and moisturised skin
I've been using this for about a month now and my skin feels smoother, softer and more moisturised. I have dry and sensitive skin and this product has made a positive difference. However, there is sometimes mild redness and itching when I apply the product but this fades in under an hour. My skin feels uncomfortably tight immediately after application but this goes away as it's absorbed and leaves my skin feeling baby soft. Overall, I'd recommend this product if you struggle with very dry, itchy skin. Unlike other moisturising serums I've tried, it doesn't leave my skin overly oily and is absorbed well. The changes weren't immediate though; it took several weeks of daily use to make any difference. If you're going to buy this product don't expect immediate results.
A new staple in my routine
I'm currently on my second bottle and I love it. My skin did react to it in the beginning but after it got used to it, it became a saviour for my surface-dry skin. I love how lightweight it is, as the consistency is almost water-like. It sinks in very quickly and will not affect the products you layer on top. A downside of the thin consistency is that I go through this quite fast. I would choose this over the Vichy hyaluronic booster (that many rave about) in a heartbeat, as I find this to be more effective and it is a fraction of the price.
My skin didn`t get better or worse, that`s all I can say
    Transformed my skin
I have suffered with moderate acne since I was a teenager, I read somewhere that the key to solving most skincare issues is hydration, so I thought I'd give this a try. I had used the regular hyaluranic acid before trying this and I wasn't too impressed, the consistency was much too heavy. This product is totally different, it has the same consistency as water and it spreads easily all over my face and even my neck. The key is making sure your face is damp before you apply the serum, either with water or a hydrating toner, if you don't do this you won't see the benefits. I've been using this since march and my skin has never been clearer, I've also a noticed a reduction in redness/texture and overall irritation, I'd recommend this to anyone! x
I love this stuff!!! It is so lightweight and just sinks into my skin really quickly. It is a real nice addition to my skin care routine. Best to pipette into hands and smooth on face as the consistency is very watery. I can’t notice a smell like so many others have commented. Will be purchasing more the minute this comes back in stock!
    Antioxidants plus lightweight hydration. Superb!
I just love this. You can't get these algae based antioxidants at this price and in such a lightweight formulation that my skin simply drinks in. I can then layer other products on top or go straight to makeup. Fabulous!
    Keep going
I've noticed people saying this smells, mine doesn't and there is no residue at all. It's just like rubbing water on your face. At first I was put off with it being a water, found it hard to apply with the pipet on my face as it's just trickles down. I was going to give up but then I started putting it in my hands and then rubbing it in, also applying quite a bit as it's so cheap you can afford to use more than usual and I can see now I've nearly finished the bottle that it definitely is worth repurchasing, it has worked well. If you don't like sticky serums then this was made for you.
    The Ordinary
    Good, very good!
I love this product. It’s not sticky like other HA products I’ve used. I see a lot of comments about a smell, I haven’t noticed any smell at all with mine.
    The Ordinary does better
The smell is just Beurk, I don’t know if I have a older product or it is just me but I hate the smell. It didn’t do much for me. Definitely will not by this again.
    Doesn't smell. Runny. Hydrating.
I got this along with a few other The Ordinary serums with the purpose of hydrating my skin (it's dried out with nightly anti-blemish treatment) for the day, without using rich or oily formulas. Having used it for a week, I cannot yet comment on the long term effects, but: 1. It does NOT smell. Perhaps the formula changed, as many users complained about the heavy odour - apparently this brand listens to its customers. 2. It is indeed very lightweight. 3. It hydrates and soothes the skin. On the whole: does what it promises, yet I would not firmly repurchase as it's not a wow effect. I'll use this bottle and move on to the slightly richer alternative from the brand; the hyaluronic + vit. B.
It's perfect for my dry skin
It's nice but the smell is not pleasant
I have dehydrated skin and this product helps to diffuse heavier hydrating creams so they absorb better and faster.
    Great value for money
Given its price, this serum does work. The not-so-pleasant scent and the feeling of residue left while applying it on your face would be the downsides but on the plus side it is very lightweight, doesn't cause outbreaks and it does leave your skin hydrated, looking pretty the next morning. Overall, it works!
    I absolutely love it
    It's amazing for my skin
Absorbs well but beware the odd smell
I bought this after running out of the regular HA from The Ordinary - I agree with other reviewers that the smell is unappealing, however it is significantly runnier and more easily absorbed than the regular HA and it definitely has helped with calming redness. If you can get past the odd smell I think it's a brilliant product and I prefer this over the regular as it speed up my routine.
    The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics
Smell is a bit off putting but on the plus side soon dries to put on moisturiser. Can't work out yet whether my wrinkles are less but my skin has certainly improved slightly.
This is a nice moisturiser that made my skin feel great. I must say though that I have better longterm results with The Buffet. I can imagine that this product is great for younger skin, I need a bit more of a boost (58, dry skin).
    Weird and magical
Not sure if I'm imagining it, but this product has just helped my skin calm down and it's so easy to use and is a great foundation for other day time/evening products. The smell was weird the first few times (I thought it had expired) but I guess it's part of the weird and wonderful magic. I recommend this one if you are looking for a safe serum that doesn't irritate the skin and doesn't feel too thick.
    Not impressed
Not a fan. Less moisturising than other hyaluronics, very runny and a weird smell.
This has cleared up my acne-prone and sensitive skin in just 3 days and has given me the best skin I've ever had.
    It works!
Yes, it does smell bad. But it also works really well! And the smell doesn't last once you have put it on, especially since this is something that is great to use underneath more creamy products so it gets covered up anyways. Has become part of my daily routine.
I pray they forever keep this product because it’s amazing!!! Does what so many other bands promise from marine derived ingredients but at a fraction of the price-has calmed ALL redness on my face and yes, doesn’t smell great but oh my is it worth it!!!
    Not worth the awful smell!!
To be honest, I can't really comment on whether this product is making much of a difference on my skin, because I avoid using it, because it smells horrendous. Like stinky feet or musty towels that were left wet in the washer and then dried. And unlike other reviewers, I don't think the smell is temporary. I can smell it for hours on my skin. Not worth it.
    Irritated my skin
Not hydrating and irritated my skin. Passed it on. Also smells horrible.
    I just don’t know...
I have extremely sensitive skin that is acne/pimple prone and this hasn’t broken me out which is a major plus. I do think it’s given my skin some moisture. But the smell... oh the smell. It’s horrible. Do not get this anymore near your nostrils or worse in them. The consistency is very watery so it’s kinda hard to apply as it runs straight down my face when I do.
    On point
Very watery consistency, so I get about five drops in the palm of my hand and apply to my face gradually, drop by drop with a finger. Hydration is awesome, the only downside is the smell, but it's not unbearable, just not the most pleasant one :)
