How to use
Apply the Purifying Cleanser to dry skin and massage gently. Avoid direct contact with eyes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Note: This cleanser may stimulate the skin and create a tingling feeling due to the use of lymphatic stimulating ginger and enzymes. This is not a reaction.
I have sensitive but acne-prone skin, and this cleanser has been amazing. I had it on my wish list for ages, and wish now I had just gone for it. It's not cheap, but in this case you do get what you pay for. The consistency is a cross between a balm and an oil, and a little bit goes a long way. It smells heavenly.
Enhanced the texture of my skin.
Very glowy results.
This made me bright red and irritated. One of the worst cleansers I ever tried. My skin can be a bit sensitive but I use a lot of products and try a lot too and never had such a reaction. My cheeks were on fire.
This is a really indulgent cleanser. I love the texture and scent. As you massage it in to the skin it melts into a lovely oil. It makes for a great morning or second cleanse. Certainly a splurge item but worth it to treat yourself.
This is the one!
I tried Tata Harper's Clarifying cleanser first and had to get rid of it because it was just like washing up liquid - so was a bit wary to order another Tata Harper product to try but thank goodness I did! I needed a cleanser to help with adult acne (I also use Votary's Clarifying oil), and have now just tried this. As soon as I opened the bottle I was relieved! It's clayish - initially - then melts into an oil, and it smells nicely and subtly of creamy ginger; plus it does the job. I can usually tell if my skin likes a product within the first few hours of using it, and no spots or red patches have developed...if anything, my skin's brighter. Happy customer here. Should've bought this one to start with.
More a Morning Cleanse than Anything Else
On its own it doesn't really take off your makeup, I have to use it as a second cleanse after an oil based cleanser and even than I have to rub both of them very good, so that's not very convenient for the price you pay. As a morning cleanse is OK, but that's easy, you don't need a good cleanser for it to work in the mornings.
Excede the expectation
I’m in my earlier 40’s having ageing skin, which is prone to occasional outbursts, usually, as a reaction to the wrong skin care products. Over the years I used a wide range of that so-called cosmeceuticals products and was in opinion that cleansers usually leave skin dry, dull and dehydrated and a toner afterwards is a must to bring a PH balance back to normal. But after discovering this cleanser from Tata I know that it was wrong. After cleansing my face using this cleanser, my skin and fingers are fully hydrated, soft and calm. Another aspect worth to mention here is that not much quantity of the cleanser is required for the whole face and neck, hence it spreads quite good, thus the bottle will last longer making it worth the investment. Having said that, I will join the club of Tata Harper cleanser’s admirers.
Lovely as a morning cleanse, but stings eyes
This cleanser is so luxe! Love it’s uplifting scent so I used this as a morning cleanser. It has a soft mud-gel texture when you first pump it out, but turns into an oil once you’ve massaged it into your face. It emulsifies elegantly with water and leaves your skin feeling cleansed, happy and never stripped. Love this cleanser about as much as Josh Rosebrook’s complete moisture cleanse. I have sensitive dehydrated acne prone skin and this has been absolutely wonderful on my skin. It stings the eyes though.
I'm in LOVE
I wanted to spoil myself once with a luxury cleanser for my skincare routine. I live in a hot, humid country, and my skin tends to get super oily during the day (I look like an Oscar statue 2 mins after going out lol).
I also have pores and blackheads to concern about - but this is seriously a genie in a bottle. I was afraid at first that it might be too pricey, but a little goes a very long way and it actually pays off its price!
My pores are invisible, blackheads literally melted away, and I also noticed that my post-acne scars are less visible, and my skin doesn't get as oily as before, but it does glow in a healthy way.
A lovely luxury cleanser presented in a glass bottle that leaves my skin clean and soft afterwards. It does sting my eyes a bit no matter how much I splash them with water afterwards. Abit sad that it has gone up so suddenly in price. It was £49 just 18 months ago and now £62, so no longer in my price range.
I fell head over heels in love with this cleanser. The scent is what I like most, followed by the beautiful texture that changes as you apply it to the skin, leaving it translucent and clean. I have normal/combination skin, but lately, I noticed that it was becoming dull. I'm 39 years old. I tried these products one and a half months ago, but I'm delighted with the results: My skin glows and looks healthy again. Thank you for these superb products.
Not life-changing but pleasant
The price tag was a big deterrent but I bought the bullet after hearing so many rave reviews. It's a good cleanser with a calming ginger scent (or at least I'm ok with it) but it does sting the eyes. The texture is very interesting - it's a mud that turns into an oil but does not feel stripping at all and leaves the skin happy and calm. I'm not sure how purifying it is as I have a rotation of cleansers and am diligent with keeping zits at bay. It's the cleanser I use when I don't know what I'm in the mood for but I'll definitely have to think twice about repurchasing.
The best on the market
I love all Tata Harper range. I only use her products. I keep this cleanser for a minute or so before rinsing and it smooths and purifiers my face more. It leaves my skin super clean and soft, like porcelain.
This ignited my love for skincare. Smells and feels so therapeutic, and leaves my skin clean and soft. great for when your skin is angry.

Ones of mine forever product
Smells like a green garden.
But after a refreshing rain.
The texture it's perfect.
And lives your skin clean, soft, and fresh!
I love everything about this product from the bottle to the amazing smell and great softness of the skin after using it, plus it is cruelty-free and 100% natural, A true must have.
Wrong way to use it, let's try this way
My skin is combination/oil, so at beginning I didn't like this cleanser. It feels waxy and not clean at all. And later I found out it's works the same as Makeup Remover Cleansing Oil, which after apply it and massage it in, you add a bit of water on your face. Then massage it again and rinse with a lot of water. After that, the skin is so clean not dry at all and, no waxy felling. But still didn't solve the eye-burn problem.
I thought this would be the be-all end-all of cleansers for me, but I wasn't blown away. I have oily skin and use this as a morning cleanser. Overall, it does a good job of purifying without stripping, but I just feel I get better purifying results from Omorovicza's Moor Cleanser. I don't love the smell either. It's very strong and to me smells a lot like lemongrass/ginger and reminds me of the therapeutic soaps my parents' hippie friends used to handmake. A lot of people would like it, but I don't love it.
I don't see myself repurchasing.
Can't start my day without it
I love this product so much. I am now on my 3rd bottle. The Fragrance is fresh and luxurious, texture is like silk on my skin, and after using the skin feels clean and plumped up, ready for the makeup-ing process :) it makes my morning routine so pleasant. It is expensive indeed but although I have many things I try, there are so few I want to go back to over and over, this being one of them I will pay the price.
Another wonderful cleanser from Tata Harper
Having tried all her cleansers, this is my second favourite after Regenerating Cleanser. It feels so luxurious and is super effective. Definitely something I would repurchase.
Love the product, but..
The pump broke when I was travelling and I ended up having about a third to half of the bottle leak out. Great product, less than ideal packaging. Would recommend decanting into a Muji bottle for travel.
Don't know why I hesitated to get this....love love love
can't be without it
I am at my 6th bottle. I had oily skin before pregnancy and it worked very good. Now I have normal to dry skin and I still love it.
Amazing all round cleanser
I bought this cleanser just to test it out, I have an oily/combination skin type. I have used it for 5 months now and I can honestly say it has kept my skin feeling fresh after a long day at work (I'm a nurse= long hours). I just feel refreshed using this as an evening cleanser, and I have noticed a difference in my skin, I am quite lucky as I don't have problematic skin however, I have noticed my skin looked clearer and brighter after each use and the consistency is just perfect in my opinion not too thick not too runny. Although, the only thing is the price but hey sometimes if it does the job, I would consider re-purchasing.
After reading Caroline Hirons blog I decided that it was time I got serious about my skin care. I found that this sounded like it would be perfect for me as I have combination/oily skin. This is perfect for me it leaves my skin feeling refreshed and clean like my skin can breath, if that makes sense.
I always look forward to using this in the morning. It's an absolute delight, that smell is to die for (earthy citrus - natural not synthetic). I'm happy to pay the price tag given the ethos of the brand. I can't justify using this every day, but I sure love to use it as a treat. I personally avoid the eye area as it contains clay. I also massage it in until it liquifies into an oily texture. Such an amazing cleanser.
THE cleanser for second cleanse
This cleanser is impressive: it's refreshing and it gives a glowing skin. I use it with a cloth and I especially like it in the morning because it's perfect to remove all the greasiness on the face coming from the night and it's zing it's very pleasant to wake me up. I think it's the best second cleanser I have tried and I would definitely buy again. Compared to Oskia cleanser this is more herbal and luxurious and I personally prefer this one. Don't worry it's worth every penny and you can FEEL the amazing quality.
I always look for organic, non cruelty skin care and body care but a lot of the time it can be misleading - not with this. Not only is it very organic, natural and good for you, the results are amazing. Really helped manage my blemish prone combination skin. And thank you Cult Beauty for bringing this amazing brand to the UK.
I have oily, blemish prone skin and purchased this cleanser as a second cleanse (after removing make up with Emma Hardie balm) or as a morning cleanse and have loved it so far. It is very effective, the scent escapes me but is refreshing and calming. It feels tingly as soon as I put it on, a real satisfying 'I think this is working' kind of tingle and my skin feels thoroughly cleansed. Although at the upper end of the price scale it is quite a large sized product and only a small amount is needed, I can see this lasting me a good while. Like all the Tata Harper products the packaging is luxurious and this feels like a treat everytime I use it and think this will turn into a must have in my skincare line.
This cleans the skin. Pretty much all you could ask for. It smells lovely but considering it's for your face, it stings my eyes like crazy. It does what it says on the tin.

My ultimate cleanser
I have combination skin and this gentle, clarifying cleanser has become my morning ‘go-to’. Purifying without stripping, I massage this over dry skin and can instantly feel the fruit enzymes working to dislodge dead skin cells and unclog my pores. It leaves my face feeling refreshed and reinvigorated – like I’ve just had an amazing facial. And the smell is incredible…
Somewhere in Spain!
I bought this because I’m a big Caroline Hirons fan and this doesn’t disappoint at all. It’s a beautiful cleanser for a second cleanse. It feels like it cleans deeply and it smells wonderful! 10/10!
I wouldn't buy this cleanser again. It was fine. It left my skin dry and tight. There are so many better cleansers on the market without the hefty price tag. If you have the cash to splash and you want to give it a go, its a perfectly fine cleanser - but nothing special.
Go to cleanser!
Go to cleanser
I've bought this twice now - don't be put off by the price as it does last a good 2-3 months!
Not Worth the Price
I’ve used the refreshing cleanser by Tata Harper which I absolutely adored. When that ran out, it wasn’t available anywhere online so I decided to try this version. It was a bad idea. I had the worst month of breakouts, my skin was oilier than usual. It looked awful. I stopped using this and my skin cleared up within 3 days. I’ve gone back to my OG Oskia cleanser. This didn’t work well for me with my sensitive combo skin so if your skin is similar to mine, buy a tester first if possible.
It's a great morning cleanser for your skin! Bought it three times, You'll never regret it!
Lovely product, bad packaging
Love this cleanser for my combo skin. Not travel friendly though.
I bought this as recommended by YouTubers and having done some research I thought I'd try it out for myself. It is very drying on my skin and I have a normal-oilier skin so I daren't think how a dry/dehydrated skin would manage. It has a beautiful scent and texture and it does remove every last scrap of makeup, SPF and grime, but for the cost, I was expecting more! The bottle is not travel friendly in the slightest. A heavy, glass bottle just won't travel well. I may stick to my Zelens Z pure or Omorovicza moor cream cleanser- less money, better results.
I LOVE this cleanser. It smells lovely, removes my makeup, works great if left on longer as a mask and leaves my skin fresh and seemingly instantly smoother and less congested. If only it weren't so expensive but then the bottle seems to last a long time.
My favorite cleanser
I have combination acne prone skin, this cleanser is so great, doesn't dry out my skin or leave it to feel dirty. The exfoliation is very subtle and it doesn’t irritate my skin...didn’t break me out, and it doesn't foam or anything and easy to rinse off and not messy...smells alright. Will definitely repurchase.
Just the smell of this is so invigorating! I love using it, it is very gentle to the skin, I love massaging it and giving it a moment. It is best that, if you have makeup on you remove that first with a lotion or another cleanser, and leave this as the second step because it also feels like a treat to the skin. And the glass bottle is something I personally love (glass instead of plastic).
I'm a stressed out, relatively unhappy, student who doesn't maintain a healthy diet and suffers from insomnia. Ultimately, I am not healthy, but the amount of comments I receive on a weekly basis about my skin contradicts that - you would think I was the healthiest and happiest eighteen years old, and it's all down to my skin routine (especially this product). I have normal type skin and I do not wear skin makeup but due to depression, insomnia and college work I suffered from dull, ill-looking skin. Ever since I started using this cleanser it has significantly brightened up my complexion. I met up with an old friend the other day and one of his first comments was how happy and healthy I look which was ironic! This cleanser feels like a dream on the skin too, warms into an oil when applying and leaves your skin feeling and looking super clean and glowing. It smells lovely too. However, hurts like a bitch if you get it into your eyes! Feels good knowing that you're not hurting any lovely animals in the process either! I apply Paula's Choice BHA Liquid Exfoliant, Sunday Riley's Juno Oil and Thank you Farmer Sun Screen afterwards and they all work together incredibly.
Excellent cleanser. Cleans make up perfectly compared to any other cleanser I’ve used. The only down side is I personally find the scent very strong and disturbing.
This cleanser is perfect for my sensitive combo skin: it does its job to cleanse without stripping or any irritation, leaves skin clean, soft, calm and "happy". I finished the mini bottle (15ml from box set) and going to buy the full version asap.
I'd buy it just for the smell
It smells incredible. Like seriously incredible, i'd buy it just for the natural citronella-esque smell even if it was rubbish. Luckily it's not.
The only issue i have with this is i can't put it near my eyes. It burns.
This doesn't remove makeup at all so it's an AM only one for me, but really wakes you up in the morning and leaves your skin feeling really cool and refreshed after use.
I used up this whole product and it's quite good. The texture is like nothing I've ever used before, it's not a mud, gel, oil or foam it's like a combination of gel and oil. I really like the texture it doesn't leave a residue or make your skin tight. The reason I gave it 4 stars was the price even though it was really good and made my skin clear it just didn't feel life-changing. However, I will repurchase in the future. I recommend this to anyone who has bad skin and has enough money.
Believe the hype
I rarely leave product reviews, but this cleanser deserves it. I was drawn in by the rave 5 star reviews left by other users and thought I'd give it a try. I adore my Emma Hardie Moringa cleanser for removing my make-up but felt I needed something else to really cleanse my skin. This is the answer, the ideal second step cleanser that leaves my sensitive face feeling zingy, smooth and ultra clean without feeling dry and stripped. It feels as though my products seep into my skin better as a result and I'm already looking brighter 3 days in. Love this stuff, well worth the money and is now a firm fixture in my skin care regime.
I've been using this cleanser for about 10 days now and I absolutely love it. It smells delightful, the ginger is overpowering but so refreshing and I can see the difference in my skin already - after having a lot of blemishes and scarring from previous breakouts, I can see everything fading and becoming less angry. Quite pricey but 100% worth it.
A little piece of heaven
I love the fragrance and the feel of this on my skin. I actually look forward to using this.
Love this but too pricey
Fantastic cleanser. My skin feels so clean and soft after using this. I really like it as a morning cleanser as I think it's refreshing and wakes you up a bit. My skin is sensitive and prone to redness and I haven't had any problems using this. Problem is the price - I really do like this a lot but there are other less expensive cleansers that I like just as much so I can't justify repurchasing.
Not bad but really quite expensive. Trying to figure out what the hype is all about. Maybe it is too early to see the result of this cleanser.
Worth a splurge
This cleanser works amazingly on my combination acne prone skin. However as someone might have mentioned, stay away from your eyes. It stings like crazy. Although the packaging is very nice and sturdy, the glass bottle is too bulky to bring along while traveling.
Amazing cleanser for lazy bed-bugs
I absolutely love this cleanser. I got it as a 15ml from the Cult Beauty goody bag and I'm obsessed! After a long day at work and (sometimes social activities after work) I get home and find myself too lazy to do serious skin care. So for my makeup I use makeup wipes then I massage this into my skin and rinse off with lukewarm water. This completely removes every dirt, grime, makeup from my skin and each day my face looks more radiant and spotless. I do this on lazy days as opposed to using my vanity planet skin cleansing brush which I use more during the weekends. A little still goes a long way! Will definitely be buying it in full next time.
I love this for my morning cleanse. It lifts up my spirits and wakes up my skin.
Perfect Morning Cleanse!
I adore this product. I love the smell, the texture, how it turns milky when you add water and that it leaves my skin feeling fresh and awake in the morning. The only caveat is you cannot use this to remove eye makeup as it doesn't do a great job, but it also burns a little because of the essential oils. That doesn't bother me though as I use it on my face in the morning when I have no makeup to remove.
I have been using this for the past 6 weeks in the mornings. Love the lemony smell, skin feels cleansed and balanced afterwards. I am enjoying this so much that I have often used it in the evenings too. Fully recommend and this will be for sure a repeat purchase.
Lightweight clay cleanser for oily skin
I love the light creamy texture of this cleanser, and how it turns into a milk when you massage with water. This is a great choice for oily, acne-prone and congested skin. It cleans the face beautifully but is not harsh at all. It is expensive, but luxurious and worth it. I rotate between this and REN ClearCalm Clay Cleanser.
Non-drying purifying cleanser
I first tried this with the Best in Glow Kit and I ordered a full bottle after a few uses. I always second cleanse, a habit I developed being an Asian descent. Hong Kong is very humid at the moment and I have been looking for the right second-cleanse product that does a good job without stripping my skin. This product is great as it leaves my face soft but my pores super clean. I use this at night as a second cleanse and use the regenerating cleanser in the morning. Works great!
Gentle AM cleanser with subtle pick-me-up citrusy scent for combination/oily skin
I love Tata Harper's natural yet potent ingredients and their overall manufacturing policy. However, this formula of this cleanser isn't of my favourites - it feels weirdly "waxy" on my skin when applied and this uncomfortable there's-a-layer-of-something-on-my-skin feeling lingers on even after I wash my face.
Pros: gentle cleanser, no stripping, great ingredients, refreshing scent
Cons: weird "waxy" formula, stings eyes, heavy glass bottle - not very convenient for travelling
Great Morning Cleanser
This cleanser is a great morning option when you want to get rid of any build up over night (those of us who have oily skin this is great!)
It does give a cooling tingle on the face, the same way something minty would, but it doesn't cause any reactions or breakouts.
I cannot fault any of the TH I have tried to date
