Drying

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I have a normal skin, which tends to be oily in the summer. However, my skin was so dry from this, that I had to use my hydrating winter foundation for summer because of this sunscreen. I am totally disappointed.

Leaves a white cast.

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I'm dark skinned and have been trialling sunscreens to find one that doesn't leave a white cast. This is definitely not one. The texture is grainy and its difficult to spread onto skin. The biggest issue still stands, leaves a very obvious white cast, this is not suitable for dark skinned women.

Good SPF

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

I use it daily and it does the job. Not the greatest SPF in the world, but nothing to complain. Most importantly - does not cause acne and clogged pores.

Great physical sunscreen

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I've repurchased this sunscreen 3 times now - it definitely gives good sun protection and I've never burnt wearing this. I agree with other reviewers that the texture is odd - however I do still like the formulation. I can't find any other sunscreen with such a clean ingredient list and without any acne-causing ingredients. A lot of sunscreens break me out - this one doesn't. It's also really hard to find a physical sunscreen without fragrance so I love that this one is fragrance free. It does leave a slight white cast even on my skin (fair-light), which I expected as I've never found a physical sunscreen that doesn't. I mix with a bit of D-Bronzi to take away the white cast. It also leaves a bit of a shine which I personally like as I have dry skin and like a dewy look. Unlike other reviewers, I've never had any problems with pilling - however I don't wear make up so I can't comment if it works well underneath make up. Overall, I think this is a great sunscreen - it's a shame about the grainy texture but I don't personally find it a problem since it still applies nicely to the skin.

Very disappointed

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I was really looking forward to trying it and I am very disappointed. Very difficult for the skin to absorb. It leaves white patches on the face and the skin dry.

DONT BUY!!!

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

0 stars! This is one of the worst products I've ever had! When applied it immediately leaves little white chunks everywhere! The formula is also completely drying to the skin and I'm usually not dry at all! And additionally I got a rash around the eye area. Definitely not worth the price and no possibility for returns if used once ... not going to buy again from here, very disappointing.

Matt It Up

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

A lovely product but is let down by being too 'shiny'. Make-up doesn't stay on particularly well throughout the day and there is a constant shine through. Need to follow more closely to Cliniques Cityblock SPF40

Worst product from drunk elephant!

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I’m in my 30s, have a normal skin type and no spots always use a lot of Drunk Elephant products but this one a disaster! Skin flared up with a rash and took 3 weeks to clear up (very upsetting!)

I cant use it

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

I’ve got a mini size in the Shelf Respect Kit, at first I was surprised that it almost doesn’t leave a white cast, and I even started thinking of getting a full size, but after wearing it for about two hours my skin felt incredibly dry. I tried wearing it few more times but for my normal skin it feels like dried clay mask. I just can’t stand it, even with a hydrating serum and a moisturizer underneath.
