No breakouts

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I have fine, acne-prone skin and it was difficult for me to find a sunscreen that doesn't make my skin breakout. I have used this product over three months now in a country that is very warm and sunny and I have to say that when I use it I know that my skin is safe from UV light and also from breakouts. After reading some reviews, I would like to point out that yes, it does have a funny smell but it's not from harmful ingredients and it's only when you apply it. Secondly, if you shake the bottle before you use it and apply it gently on your skin the white cast can be handled. Finally, I haven't experienced any drying from using this product.

Much improved!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

This sunscreen seems to have been improved again. When I originally purchased it from the USA it was quite runny and full of little hard bits. My new tube is a little thicker and smother- it absorbs more easily now and doesn't leave your face covered in white bits anymore. If you want a non-chemical sunscreen which really feels like it moisturises and protects then you can't go wrong with this. Be prepared to let it dry before you you apply make-up though as it takes a while to set.

Brilliant product

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I love this product - it should have far better reviews. Because it has no nasties it is naturally chalkier to provide full sun protection, but if you want toxin-free protection that is the payoff. The way to use it is to shake the bottle well before use - mine goes on perfectly. The smell is kind of a non-smell if that makes sense as scentless makeup or body wash. I will buy this for as long as it remains on the market it’s fantastic.

The best sunscreen ever

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I don’t remember if I already left a review for this one but it makes me so sad to it bad reviews here so I will add another one. I am actually here to buy a new bottle in case it will be sold out. I have had mine for half a year now, everyday use, and it looks like I still have more than half left. In other words, it’s super economical. My trick to smooth appliance is to shake the bottle well beforehand. Then spread in my fingers, then apply to the face. I am 38, have great skin and don’t use any makeup, just some Jane Iredale powder foundation over this sunscreen for more sun protection. It has never broken me out, never greasy, sits perfectly the whole day, very clean, never irritated my skin or eyes. I seriously don’t understand the bad reviews. This is the best mineral protection I have tried. And it doesn’t have the awful nanoparticles either. I haven’t tried the tinted version but this one satisfies all my needs so I will stick to it. I used to trust the reviews for many years until I realized I better use my own judgement and experience. Wishing all beautiful ladies here to find your dream products and to make your own opinions based on your own trials on your own gorgeous skin.

Great - once you've got the nack!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

The first time I used this I didn't like it at all - it was streaky, left white marks on my skin (like when your mum covers you in sunscreen when you're little!) and I couldn't work out why some of the reviews here are 5 stars. BUT! I've now worked out a routine that makes it genuinely one of the best facial sunscreens I've used, and the one I keep going back to (especially in the heatwave we're currently having!) I do: C-Firma mixed with Virgin Marula oil, then while my skin is still a bit shiny (this seems to be key!) squeeze some suncream into my palm, rub it between my hands to warm it up a bit and then apply like a moisturiser. This way it does go on sheer and moisturising like it's supposed to! So, apply it like a moisturiser, right when you'd normally apply a moisturiser, and it's great! x

Really not good

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

So as a WOC this isn't a very good SPF as it left my face rather ashy. Also, it smells like natural yogurt that has expired! I'm quite sad that I spent £29 on something I am now using exclusively on my ankles! lol.

Excellent

I've used Drunk Elephant's tinted mineral sunscreen successfully and this one is a larger size containing the same high-quality, all-mineral ingredients. I'm happy with it. I use this brand's bronzer mixed with serum prior to the final application of this pure Zinc Oxide sunscreen. It looks wonderful. Make sure to thoroughly shake the container prior to opening and applying it. I'm in my early fifties and have sensitive skin. I can't be without a mineral sunscreen during the day. I'm unable to use synthetic sunscreens or fragranced products. Drunk Elephant consistently provides me lovely results.

Strong SPF

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

This is a very white, powdery product in texture. I bought this to apply under my make-up as an everyday SPF, as it is very thick you don't need a lot. It does have a certain smell to it, which does stick around all day, I would also avoid getting this in your eyes as it really does sting, this is a bit challenging with watery eyes around hay-fever season! All of that being said, I have been wearing this for the last 2 months and it really does work well as a sun protection product. I am prone to freckles and sun damage, due to being fair-skinned. My face hasn't tanned and I haven't noticed any new freckles or sunspots. It is a large tube, so it will last you a long time. The only reason this is not a 5-star review is due to the thick chalky white texture which does feel heavy on your skin, especially under foundation.

Not great

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

Unfortunately I do not rate this product. It it very oily heavy and thick on my skin. It’s not good to wear with makeup either as leaves a sheen on your skin and I ended up looking super greasy.

Great

Leaves no white cast when rubbed in properly and isn't greasy, leaves skin feeling nice after a few minutes as it sinks in and doesn't irritate the skin like most sunscreens.
