Disappointed

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

This serum left my skin sticky and and just feeling horrible. I tried mixing with other products but it certainly didn't suit my skin. Also the packaging fell apart which made it tricky to use - maybe a sign. I think the smell is dreadful and makes it feel really chemical. Not for me.

Not worth it

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I was so excited to use this one cause it has a lot of good reviews but I was devastated ‘cause it was really sticky and it leaves my skin shiny. It didn’t do anything. It wasn’t worth the hype.

Didn’t like

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I was really excited to try this after seeing so many good reviews on YT, I bought the mini and really really didn’t like it. Firstly the scent is awful, a really earthy off putting smell. Secondly it just didn’t absorb and left my skin really really tacky. I persevered for a while but gave up in the end as the scent was just too much for me.

Not good

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

This product was very highly recommended by YouTube folks, Wayne Goss is the reason I spent nearly 300 quid on Drunk Elephant, so I bought most of the range. I had high hopes for this product, but have found that it leaves a horrible stickiness all over my face. When I say sticky, I mean I walk around like a lint roller and quickly get coated in fluff and cat hairs. I’ve tried it on its own, and mixed with the other products in the range. I’ve tried layering with Protini on top, but the stickiness remains. Nothing works and I’ve no choice but to stop using it, which is annoying as it costs an arm and a leg.

Best Vitamin C for sensitive skin

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I was bit afraid to try this, as my skin has a hit-miss relationship with pure vitamin C. I am happy that I tried this, this is my favourite product at the moment. My skin type - very dry, sensitive and acne-prone. I started with 3 times a week, now I am using it daily at NIGHT (because of my preference) and love the glow it gives, makes the skin plump next morning and my scars are also fading away. Anyone who is allergic to essential oils in skincare, Drunk Elephant is your brand.

I did not like it

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

I've used many vitamin C serums before and saved up to get this one. I've tried it in combinations with other DE products, respected the instructions provided on their website but this product was a big let down for me. It is SO sticky to the point where it itches my face so badly and a little does not go along way with this one. My boyfriend told me that my face smelled of lubricant when I used it, though I don't share the same opinion. Other than that, it does not absorb well into my skin and oxidizes making it look like I have black heads. No difference in skin. Don't waste your money on this one.

Don’t believe the hype

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I was so excited to treat myself to this serum, but was quickly disappointed. It oxidised badly whenever I wore it, under moisturiser and foundation or just foundation alone (as it is quite moisturising itself), making me look like I had orange tan foundation on - not a preferred look of mine as I’m pale and am fastidious about shade matching. It might have interacted with different moisturisers/SPF I used over the month I trialled it, as it was worse on some days than others, but I couldn’t work out the pattern. I tried using it at night instead, and this way I woke up smelling of fake tan. I read up on this and it seems one of the key chemicals in c-firma degrades with exposure to light and air into an ingredient found in fake tan. Yuck. That’s £67 down the drain, or rather sitting guiltily, wasted, on the dressing table! Also regarding its effectiveness, I noticed no difference in my skin whatsoever during the period in which I used it.
