    • Why it's Cult

Everybody in the Cult’s getting tipsy! Serious skin, hair and body care heroes that don’t take themselves super seriously, Drunk Elephant’s rise to the top of the industry pops has been (rightfully!) meteoric. Founded by Tiffany Masterson who wanted to formulate products without any ‘fillers’, this all-star collection is powered by biocompatible actives – a mix of synthetic and plant-derived extracts – that skin recognises and knows what to do with. And, because of their ingredient-elimination philosophy, you won’t find any of the following ‘Suspicious 6’ – drying alcohols, silicones, SLS, chemical screens, essential oils or fragrances/dyes – so you can ‘reset’ your complexion and help both your skin and your tresses to flourish like never before.

Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream Reviews

    The Holy Grail of Moisturisers
Finally, a moisturiser that leaves my dry, mature skin feeling and looking amazing in both winter and summer. Since I started using it after Four Sigmatic Superfood Serum, my skin has been in better condition than ever. Perfect amount of moisture for my usually parched skin but, unusually, leaves a matte but still glowing finish. I never thought I would find my perfect moisturiser but here it is.
    BEST moisturiser
Honestly don’t think there is anything more soothing and moisturising than this! I have normal combination skijn (acne-prone) and it works amazing, doesn’t break me out! If you don’t like thick creams then this wouldn’t be for you but I love it!
    The best for sensitive skin
My skin rescue. Day or night, winter or summer, this is the only product that calms my flaky red skin, moisturises it without leaving residue, and doesn't irritate it.
    Perfect for Winter
I bought the full size after using a sample size over the winter, it was amazing for my dry winter skin but since using it over spring/summer I’ve found it to be a little too heavy. Will definitely be switching back to it in the colder months though!
    Perfect for dry skin.
The best moisturiser I have tried in the longest time. Leaves your face feeling soft and hydrated without being too heavy. Found my go-to face cream.
Some DE products irritated my skin as the formulations contain a long list of ingridients. This one was totally okay. The texture is pleasant and absorbs into skin fairly quickly. Have nothing bad to say about it.
For dry skin it's good enough. Feels comfortable.
    Dry skin around mouth
I had some irritation around my mouth from the winter months and this honestly sorted it right out. I am glad about the purchase. A little goes a long way.
    I really wish I didn’t love this...
So I got a small sample of this to try because it’s expensive for a moisturiser. I like a cream more than a gel even for daytime use. I have normal skin which is dehydrated and extremely sensitive. I have to avoid all fragrance and essential oils and I tend to include ceramides at every stage of my routine. I love this. It’s such a creamy whipped texture and it sits so well with other products. I love to mix this with JSS soothing facial oil and it gives such a gorgeous glow to the skin. Honestly don’t want to love it because £50 for a moisturiser is insane hence the loss of one star, but I can’t deny how plumped it makes my skin. It hasn’t caused any irritation at all, which is rare for me because I am soooo sensitive. I’d recommend trying the smaller size that comes in the set, just to see if you like it before committing. One thing I’m glad I tried!
    Refreshing moisturiser
This feels really refreshing and is a lovely texture. Great packaging- the pump gives you a good amount each use. I haven’t seen any change to my skin since using it so I’m not sure it’s worth the price if you’re looking for something to help your skin.
    The moisturizer
I love this moisturize. I love the fact that is a non fragrance moisturize that leaves my skin soft and hydrated. I have combination skin (dry in some zones and more oily in my T zone) and this cream is perfectely suitable for me. I adapted so well to this cream that I have a lot of serums, tonics, sun protectors, makeup removals but I basically only have this moisturize. I don't feel that leaves a thick sensation, its well absorbed and in the morning I wake up with "plum skin".
    Better out there
Nothing special. Better moisturisers out there for half the price. Never again.
    Best moisturiser
I love love love this moisturiser! It's my favourite from all I've tried. It has a thick texture (just like whipped cream) and hydrates the best out of my skin. Perfect for the colder months. Can't recommend it enough. The price isn't friendly though.
    Very hydrating without clogging
I love this as a night and sometimes day-time moisturizer in the winter. It is very hydrating without clogging my pores. Sunscreen and make up go on easily afterward. It is a shame the price is very high but I will be re-purchasing given the results.
This is the perfect moisturiser (especially now that the winter is coming winter) for my dry sensitive skin. It leaves the skin plump and calm but doesn't clog pores. Will be repurchasing ♥️
    Love at the first touch
I receive it in the 2020 goody bag and I love it so much! This texture is so amazing, so sensorial. I was just so sad seeing that price!
    The perfect winter moisturiser
I always have this in my routine during the colder months. I have oily/combination skin and this is too much for me during summer, but I get really dry skin during the winter. This product is so good, really moisturising and I love the packaging.
    Amazing for eczema prone skin
I have incredibly eczema prone skin (using prescribed topical creams 2 times a week) and this is the only (online) store bought cream I have ever been able to use consistently. I am currently on my 2nd tub (soon to order a third). If like me you have tried every cream under the sun, would highly recommend this (I was about to give up my search) as it has changed my skin SO drastically and is a fairly reasonable price point compared to many other creams.
    Holy grail product ❤️
This is a very good kind of thick moisturizer. It's providing a lifetime moisture to my skin. She's so beautifulLove mixing pump of Lala and Protini everyday in my pm routine and I wakeup with most soft , supple skin.I am going to keep ordering this beautiful holy Grail moisturizer forever, that's how I love DE products. It feels Soo luxurious to use. Drunk elephant skin care products, really make me happy..! Well worth the money. Did I mention the name cute too!
Not for me. Very disappointing. I have normal to dry skin. After using this product my face feels as I haven't even moisturized.
Drunk elephant lala retro whipped cream
Love this addition to my Drunk Elephant collection. Fabulous range and when used in conjunction with the magic smoothie combinations the Lala cream moisturisers my aging skin with great success. Drunk Elephant products are the most under rated products out there. Worth every penny spent on the band and it’s taken many years and £££££s to find my go to beauty products to make me feel amazing
    Packaging not good, cream OK
Quite a good cream, very soothing. Expensive though and didn't last long. Packaging is poor - you cannot see how much you have left and even when you are running out, you can't tell because the jar still feels heavy. I took it apart to see whether I could get any more out, but even after prising the top off and removing the big metal spring, still couldn't get into the jar. Has the company considered ease of recycling at all? Don't think I'll be buying again.
    An essential
I don’t think I can be without this product now. It’s so comforting.
    Whipped cream
Great for my skin. My skin is very sensitive but with this Product feels so smooth and Breakout free. Definitely I will purchase more. Well done Drunk Elephant
    Saved my skin!
My skin did horribly during the confinement, dry patches, just awful! This moisturizer saved my skin in the matter of a week's use!!
    Great for my skin
Before this moisturizer I was using Neutrogena Hydro Boost, CeraVe and the Milk Make up one - this one is the best by far. It is a cream, but it goes really nicely into the skin and it does have an airy feel - compared to Milk and CeraVe who feel more thick and heavy. Compared to the Milk one it also doesn’t leave your face shiny, so when you apply sunscreen on top you don’t look sweaty. It is very moisturizing (I have dry cheeks and an oily forehead and I just put a bit less on my forehead). Taking a star off just because it is quite expensive compared to the ones I’ve used before and harder for me to get in my country, but it has a luxury feel to it and the packaging is also quite cute and sturdy. Will be repurchasing!
    Holy grail of moisturisers
The amount of moisturisers that I have tried and not found one that works for me is unbelievable! But I can honestly say this is the BEST one ever!!! I have dry/combination skin and always get really bad dry skin around my nose, this moisturiser literally got rid of the dryness straight away! I was SHOOKETH!!! It’s not greasy, soaks into the skin quickly and leaves skin feeling soft and supple! Will definitely be purchasing again!!!! IT IS AMAZING!!!!!
So hydrating, rich yet not heavy or greasy. Definitely a must-have. Will be reordering when I run out. I also love the design of the pump lid which means you only take what you need and it’s so satisfying to use.
Don't let the density of this cream scare you - a little definitely goes a long way with it. It's beautifully lightweight once it has soaked into your skin and it leaves you hydrated all day. I love it. It also has a great design so you're not contaminating the product each time you use it. The container allows you to almost "pump" out a small amount without you touching the rest of the cream.
This moisturiser is amazing for anyone with dry skin! My skin is also really sensitive so I don’t always like trying out new face products, but I have had absolutely no reactions with this cream whatsoever. I like to use it at night as it is quite a thick cream but you could totally use it through the day as it sinks into the skin so well. Best moisturiser I’ve ever used
Love but Shame it’s so expensive
How can I put it? I’m in love! I’ve used to use Lala for a good year or almost two, it is perfect for my combo/oily, acne-prone skin, and in the winter it even doubled as my day cream. However, the price is insane! I can’t justify it as I breeze through a jar in a month. Now I only use it when my skin gets really sensitive and needs calming down. I always have a jar in use, but for my daily moisturizer I’ve switched to another great, but inexpensive one. I am now putting my skincare money towards serums.
    Literally it is perfect!
    Will be buying it again
It moisturizes my very dry skin without feeling heavy or too thick. Will be buying it again!
    So good
My skin is combined and I have some acne. After I cleanse my face it always feels very tight but when I apply this my skin feels bouncy and healthy throughout the whole day or night! I would recommend.
Best cream I’ve used, pricey but worth it.
It deliveries moisture but if you really have dry skin, which I had for a period when I started using vitamin C serums again, it does not give enough hydration, really need to build the product up to get enough moisture but I felt like it didn't last very long. I now use it in between of serums and oils to use it up.
    LOVE this!
My skin is combination/sensitive and I bought this as a PM moisturiser. I ended up using it as an AM moisturiser too as it made my skin so soft and hasn’t broken out my skin
I’d been eyeing up DE products for a while, but put it off due to the expense, mainly. I decided to make my first purchase with this cream as most people said it was slightly thicker than the polypeptide moisturiser, and as someone with dry skin I’m looking for all the hydration I can get. I have to say I’m just overwhelmingly disappointed. It sunk into my skin quite quickly but didn’t leave me feeling plump and hydrated - particularly when I woke up I felt like I’d gone to sleep not applying anything as I felt tight and dry! This for me sadly just didn’t work as expected and I will not be repurchasing, particularly as it’s very expensive too. It’s nice to know you’re putting good ingredients on your skin, with no irritants etc but I think there are a lot of better options out there which would be a lot more nourishing.
    So soothing
I was a little bit skeptical with this moisturiser but with few days of applying my skin has never felt so hydrated and plump and the first application was so soothing to the skin definitely recommended.
I tried a sample of this and seemed ok so ordered some. It is now a daily staple. It’s a real comforting cream and my skin is definitely softer.
    Not great
I have used this for a week or so now and it is not nice. It smells as if its off which is very of putting but it also does nothing for my skin. It seemed so light that after a few minutes my skin felt dry and tight. I have tried lots of different products but this is one I will not buy again.
    Omg the best
I'd been hesitant about shelling out for any Drunk Elephant products due to the hefty pricetag, but decided to splurge on my birthday - thank goodness I did! This moisturiser has a gorgeous consistency, light but creamy at the same time, and perfect for my sensitive, dehydrated skin. The texture makes it feel very luxurious, and it made my skin noticeably softer. I like that it is unscented as well, as strong perfumes tend to make my skin break out in allergic acne. Serums layer beautifully underneath it, too. Only downside is the pricetag - it is eye watering, but to be fair I did get a good 3-4 months out of it so I can't complain too much. Highly recommend!
    Pleasantly surprised
I really like this moisturiser, after reading other reviews I was concerned I would be disappointed, but not at all leaves my dry skin perfectly moisturised without being greasy or shiny and I found the smell really pleasant, would of been a 5 out of 5 but it is on the pricey side, will definitely purchase again tho!
    Beautiful consistency
This is a rich, thick cream that leaves skin smooth and beautifully moisturized. It has made a noticeable difference to my dry patches and has soothed my sensitive skin in the wintertime but I believe it will be too heavy once the weather warms up. I don't think it's suitable for you if you have oily skin, but it has been wonderful for my slightly combo complexion. The only drawback that I find is its scent which is almost playdough like. Except for that I highly recommend it.
Can’t get used to the scent.
An overall good moisturiser but I expected more for the price. I have combination skin and believe this moisturiser would suit most skin types. It makes my skin extremely soft! Despite this, it sits on my skin during the day and smells like playdough which I just can’t get used to therefore I don’t find myself reaching for it and won’t be repurchasing. Packaging is high-end as with all drunk elephant, recently tried an F-balm sample and personally preferred this product a lot more.
I have very dry skin and only very thick creams worked for me during winter, however this winter this cream did the trick. It has a strange smell but I got used to it. I use this during the day and the REN balm for the night and my skin did not flake (it is true that this winter was mild, with very few days below 0).
    Great moisturiser
After reading all the reviews, I decided to take the plunge and purchased this moisturiser. And it didn't disappoint. After using for just over 2 weeks, my skin feels soft and hydrated, and although it is a bit expensive, it is definitely worth it. I will buy it again.
    Favorite product!
This is absolutely the best face cream I’ve ever tried! Keeps the skin moisturized the whole day and somehow makes the foundation look better as well. Love it!
    Worth the money!
I needed a new moisturiser as my skin particularly around the nose area was still dry. After reviewing lots of moisturisers Drunk Elephant was a brand that kept appearing. I decided to purchase this moisturiser and I’m glad I did. It isn’t oily and a little really does go a long way. I also love the dispenser. I will buy it again.
    Don't be scared
I've been searching for a moisturizer for ages. I am 26, have pretty normal skin but more on the dry prone angle so sometimes I get these annoying clogged pores blemishes if I use the wrong product. I love to feel that my skin is moistured but no one (NO ONE) wants oily-looking moistured skin during the day. I honestly think this cream is great, and believe me, I tried everything. It works great with and without makeup and gives you healthy (not oily) glow. My tip, use this + Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer and no one would ever tell you have anything on your skin but your skin will look BOMB! And.. if I didn't get blemishes, you don't have to be scared. It is very gentle and doesn't clog pores
    So far it’s OK
I started using it 3 weeks ago and don’t think it’s A-MAZING, it’s just OK. I was expecting amazing results with this and expected to wake up with dewy skin. But I’m a little underwhelmed. Don’t know if it does much that other moisturisers don’t. Probably won’t be repurchasing because don’t think it’s worth the price.
    Very good
I love this product, it works, my skin feels very hydrated and doesn't feel heavy or oily, just perfect. It doesn't have smell. Also love the packaging. Very pricey though. I'd repurchase it if they had a discount.
    Best winter moisturiser
I love Drunk Elephant products and this is a re-purchase for me. No other moisturiser comes close in the winter months for my skin, it's so lovely and thick and yet absorbs really quickly. My skin gets so dry from being outside in the cold and then inside where I work. It really helps to keep my skin calm and soft and without any dry patches!
    My Ride or Die
I absolutely swear by this - it’s very thick but sinks in quite fast! If you have dry to normal skin would 100% recommend! I have quite sensitive skin and never had any problems, I have repurchased this cream the 4th time now. Love it.
I remember walking into Space NK, just browsing through Drunk Elephant and being utterly mesmerised by the Lala retro, I absolutely loved the texture on the back my hand it honestly felt like a dream, ever since I’ve been determined to get it as my next moisturiser, I thought I’d wait until I went through my current stuff before purchasing it straight of the bat as I hate waste. I have only just found out they’ve changed their formula just after ordering it online today and I am absolutely gutted, worried that when it comes through it’s nothing like it was when I first tried it. Oh well, I really wish you’d guys would state things like If there has been recent reformulations etc.
I love this cream; I have bought quite a few DE products and they are all good, but this is my favourite. It is great for my sensitive mature skin, and very moisturising. I do wish DE would rethink its packaging though ...it must be a very expensive part of the product but even if it is really stylish it is so wasteful, and I think they need to be more mindful of the environment.
    Whipped like a dream
I can't recommend this product enough. I have quite dry and sensitive skin but this seems to absorb making your skin feel silky smooth lasting throughout the day. I also love how it has been packaged as you can add serums or foundation with ease after you've pushed up the amount you need. I am almost running out and will defiantly be buying again.
    Great moisturizer
Great moisturiser for the winter months! I have combination skin and during the colder months, I also suffer from lackluster skin and dry patches. Since using this cream I rarely experience those problems anymore. It is very nourishing and it makes my skin feel soft. Some people with oilier skin may find the cream a bit heavy, but I really liked the consistency. The packaging is clever and hygienic. The price is pretty high, but I haven't found any moisturiser that is quite like it. I've been using it for over a year and I will continue to do so!
Great for replenishing the skin barrier
This is a nice, nourishing cream. Despite being such a rich cream, it doesn't feel heavy at all when I apply it. I purchased the full-size tub after receiving a sample. Surprisingly, I love the dispensing mechanism. It means the cream doesn't dry out if I forget to put the cap back on when I'm in a hurry! I use less than 1 pump at the end of my routine. This cream is definitely helping protect my skin during the dry, cold, windy months. No regrets. Worth the money in my opinion.
    Best moisturizer ever
This is by far the best moisturizer I've tried! On to my second jar now! It makes my skin so soft and smooth and works very well with other skincare products. But I also love to combine it with the other products in the Drunk Elephant range. A must try if you haven’t yet!
    Good cream
Skin type: dry, needs a good skincare routine to be normal. Also rosacea. This cream really has a unique texture, it's creamy but more fluffy, so I agree with them calling it a "whipped cream" formula. The packaging is quite clever, but it bothers me that I can't check how much product there is left. Application is smooth, you need only half a pump to cover your face. It sinks into the skin quite quickly, leaving almost a matte finish, but when I touch my skin I can still feel it a little. It doesn't irritate my rosacea or acne. It has a slight smell, thankfully it's no added fragrance, just the usual "creamy smell". I do agree that the price is too high, which is why I give it 4 stars. Great product but because of the price I'm a bit hesitant to repurchase. Only if this cream lasts me a full year I might change my mind... let's see :)
    Amazing product
I’ve been using this cream in the morning and at night for a week now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best skincare products I’ve ever tried. I have really dry and sensitive skin, and so usually stick pretty rigidly to my skincare regime once I find one that works. I took a punt on this since I’ve heard so much about the brand, and I’m so glad I did. It’s a super rich formula, but doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and sinks in right away. I would recommend for anyone with skin as dry as mine!
    Bought for winter
Due to loving the Protini moisturiser and using it throughout summer I decided to purchase this for the colder months as my skin gets really dry. Only used this a few times and I absolutely love it already, super thick and I prefer using this on the night with the cocktail of my other Drunk Elephant beauties.
    Magic Cream
My skin is finally happy with a cream! Perfect for dry but oily T zone skin. I use at night only - and maybe skip a couple of days when I feel I need less but it’s gorgeous. Smell isn’t super powerful but isn’t perfumed so it does smell quite different. Worth it though.
    Honest product
There was a sample on my parcel, I have oily skin and I thought that it was a moisturizer for dry skin, but it worked good also for my skin type. It was ok, it didn’t break me out and it has a matte finish. I was expected it would be oily but not at all!
    Excellent for dry skin
This is my winter moisturiser of choice. Sinks in beautifully, hydrates my skin and make up applies smoothly afterwards. I have dehydrated skin that is dry in the colder months, this would be too much in the summer but perfect to protect against the elements.
    Too expensive
Too expensive... and better for really dry skin. Too greasy on my combination skin.
I would give it a 5 but the smell is so bad that my husband doesn’t even want to kiss me right after I’ve put it on! Other than that, it’s amazing and really moisturised my skin.
    Regeneruje ***Regenerate
***I have mixed skin, dehydrated and this cream nourishes well without feeling greasy. It's suitable for both day and night, and perfectly mixes with other DE products like C-Firma, A-Passioni, B-Hydra, TLC. It has a great, hygienic packaging that allows you to extract a small amount of the product perfectly sufficient to moisturize the entire face.
    Smells like playdough
Splurged on this in a moment of weakness because of all the hype around Drunk Elephant. I was super excited to try such a luxury product and started to rub it in and was hit with a wave of nostalgia as the smell of playdough(???) washed over me. Disappointed it smells so weird - would have expected a really pleasant smell because of the lovely packaging and ingredient list. Woke up with super smooth skin so I guess it’s swings and roundabouts but I wouldn’t buy it again - £1 per 1ml is wild to smell like an infant's hands.
    Great everyday staple
The packaging always plays a key role for me when I buy beauty products ( I know I know) and so I gave this one a go to see if there was more to it than innovative design - I was happy to find out that this is a brilliant everyday moisturizer for my skin type ( dry, tends to redness and uneven skin tone). I never had such a smooth complexion than when I used this product and I have tried more renowned and expensive beauty brands for which I couldn’t say the same. Never really had undesirable spots or breakouts while using it and my skin felt bright and moisturised all day. 100% recommended!
    Soothing perfection.
I don't use it on a daily basis and my preferred moisturiser is Protini, but after a chemical peel or during heavier use of retinol, this is perfection! It soothes, moisturises and doesn't burn even when everything else does. Doesn't cause breakouts on my very acne-prone skin.
    Lovely cream.
One of my favourite creams. It was always difficult to find something rich and hydrating but that sinks in fast and doesn't shine. It's the one cream I turn to when I'm in trouble and i know for sure it will fix it. I keep trying new things.. but this one always stays in my stack.
    Simply the best
I don't use it every night but whenever I have my skin feeling dry, irritated, red or inflamed I use only this cream and next day it's almost back to normal. It's my saviour <3
    Not tacky and very hydrating
Not tacky and very hydrating, lovely cream but the price..
    Nothing special
To be honest I didn’t see any difference on my skin. I’m not sure if that has to do with the fact that I have dark skin?!
    Highly overpriced
I bought it two months ago in the Rescue Party Kit and started to use as it arrived, so I now I can tell something about this cream) I have combined skin with tendency to dryness on my cheeks. This cream give enougth moisturizing to my cheeks skin in winter, but I use it in very-very thin layer because owervise it cause pore clogging. I also can't use Lala Retro on T-zone because for it this cream too oily. In general, Lala Retro requires too much efforts to use, so I can't recommend it and will not repurchase it.
    Super Hydrating during the day
One of the best moisturizers to use in the morning. It absorbs really well and doesn't leave that tacky feeling. Packaging is also super hygienic! I would only use this in the AM as I don't find it super hydrating throughout the night.
    Seriously soft skin!
Seriously this is the best moisturiser I ever used. My skin is so soft and hydrated the next morning. The packaging is very smart, dispensing just right amount of product to be used each time. I love that the cap can be opened, so no product gets wasted.
Whip but not sticky or tacky. Absorb well.
I have oily combination skin. I was searching for something that give me enough hydration without too oily. I tried this and my skin immediately love it. It is whip/creamy texture but melt into my skin. I use it at night and I woke up with hydrated skin. Recommended this product.
    Best Moisturiser I have used
I have tried out many moisturisers as I have combination dry and oily skin, with most moisturisers helping the dry patches but just increasing the oil on my face. I haven’t found that with this moisturiser. It works perfectly. I wear it under my makeup and apply twice a day, in the morning and before bed. It has worked wonders with my skin, I have had no breakouts since using the product and my skin appears more even and bright. It sits well under makeup as it allows primer to sit on top which other moisturisers sometimes don’t. The packaging is great as it dispenses the perfect amount of product. Will definitely be purchasing again when this runs out.
    Love this
Been using this for a few months now and it’s done wonders for my skin. Such a nice smooth cream. Love the packaging design although sometimes I feel it gives out a little too much product.
    Contains so little...
I like what the product itself does for my skin, it definitely very moisturising and you don't need much for it to cover your face. But it contains so little product, it's insane, I doubt that it's 50 ml after comparing it to other 50ml creams. The cream isn’t stored in the pot you see, but a pot inside. This pot is smaller than the outer pot but still big. A few days ago I noticed that the cream is stored at the top of the pot, and approximately one-fifth of the pot has cream in it. So much packaging and plastic, so little product, such a high price point. Not sure if I will repurchase.
    good apart from packaging
The cream doesn't do any miracles, still, it feels good. I wouldn't buy it anymore, though, partly because I think it is overpriced but mostly because of the packaging. This product is more plastic than cream, and a good part of the cream is lost in the depth of this plastic safe. You can dismember it to a certain degree - but the amount of plastic garbage at the end is ridiculous.
    New holy grail moisturiser
I can't explain how much I love this product. I have very oily acne prone skin that is also a bit sensitive. I have used so many moisturisers over the years and have always had some issue with it - Too oily or too heavy or made me breakout... Then I found this and it's incredible. I only use it at night because it's a bit heavy for me during the day but I wake up with really soft skin and no irritation whatsoever. I love the packaging as well - avoids extra bacteria getting into the product which is always something I try to be careful of so I don't break out. Their products are unscented so I find it a bit odd - it has a slight whiff of white bread or something but it's something I can easily get past and only lasts while you're applying it. It's a good thing that it is unscented though because it means no unnecessary irritants A++++ (I also have it in the smaller size so I'm never without while travelling)
    I love it
***English translation*** I love it. It works really well for my very dry skin, and has super great packaging and with everything I am generally satisfied
    Dry sensitive skin heaven
Definitely worth it. Great texture, and like most of DE products, it doesn’t have a scent which is lovely to be as gentle as possible on your skin. I like to combine it with DE Vitamin C serum in the morning - the perfect boost for your skin!
    Perfect for my dry skin
I have a normal to dry skin, and especially in this time of year I need extra moisture. I have used it about a week, and I am ADDICTED. It is definitely worth the hype. I am using it every night, and every morning and my skin is moisturised and may I say more brightened.
I really don't understand the Drunk Elephant hype...It feels heavy at first then it absorbs and it feels dry and it smells like play dough. I would not pay even 20 euro for this ...extremely disappointing will never again buy Drunk Elephant.
    Bad product and high price
I have very dry skin, and after applying my skin is still dry as before. It is definitely not worth the hype. This is not better than Nivea or Garnier night cream, maybe even worse. If the price was 10 gbp, than it would be fine (not great, just naah fine) but price was 60 gbp (now is 50 gbp) this is definitely the worst cream I had when you compare value for money. Only good thing is packaging.
Okay, but not worth the hype!
I was so excited when I discovered Cult Beauty would be stocking Drunk Elephant, and I made this my first purchase. This has a lovely texture and absorbs nicely so it doesn't leave a greasy layer on my skin. But that is it.....it's not worth the hype and certainly not worth the price tag.
    Good, not great
I bought this about a month ago, I was super excited to try it out. Now that I've used it every night for 3 weeks I can say that this product is a tad overpriced for the results it delivers. I mean it's a nice, rich yet fast-absorbing product. But it didn't do any magic, nothing outstanding. Will be trying out some of the other Drunk Elephant products though.
    Rich and hydrating
This is a very rich moisturiser so therefore is great for dryer skin. And for how rich and thick it is it doesn’t leave an ‘oily’ residue on my skin. However it does take a little longer than the average moisturiser to blend it in.
    Lovely for sensitive/dehydrated skin!
This is a really nice moisturiser. It's another one that Cult Beauty ensnared me with by sending me a tester :) It really does feel whipped and it glides across the skin really nicely. And above all, it leaves the skin feeling incredibly hydrated and soft. I destroyed my skin's barrier recently, and this has helped cure the issues. I do have some more expensive moisturisers, and they do feel more luxurious. But nothing beats this so far for some real moisture, and it's got some nice ceramides in there too, to make you feel like you're adding more than just moisture :)
    Only ok
Nice moisturiser but not hydrating enough for my dry skin, would probably work better on other skin types. Cute packaging though!
    Amazing for dry flaky skin
I have dry skin all around but specially flaky on my forehead, I tried many serums and balms and creams but nothing really fixed it. I have used this cream (as part of a full routine) for 3 days and no more flaky skin! Absolutely love it! I have glowy skin now.
    #1 Moisturiser
SO GOOD. I have dry skin and love this. Absorbs into the skin perfectly, and sits overnight.
    Not enough hydration
Got it in a Cult Beauty bag. Upon application it is thick and moussy, but then sinks into the skin not hydrating it enough. The second star I take away because its smells weird. I like non-fragrance creams, but this one has a smelly no-smell.
    Not Hydrating Enough
I have quite dry skin and purchased this after reading the reviews and conducting some research. Personally it wasn't hydrating enough for me, my skin still felt really dry after applying. Although to this products credit I have quite sensitive skin and experienced no irritation whatsoever from using this. I think this product may be better suited for people with more mildly dry skin.
I love this, a little goes a long way and the smell is not overpowering. Makes my skin feel amazing and I wouldn't think of using anything else now.
This moisturiser is a beautiful thick texture without heaviness and greasiness. I usually prefer a thinner consistency to avoid my pores blocking however they don’t hydrate my skin enough. This product is non comedogenic so it doesn’t block your pores and is a great way of getting hydrating oils on your skin without the greasy feeling. Packaging is great to avoid the product getting any bacteria in it. Once again sucked in my a drunk elephant sample! It is a pricey moisturiser but it is perfect day and night and works well under makeup too
    Great moisturiser
I really love this moisturiser. It’s thick and creamy but sinks into your skin well without leaving it feeling greasy or clogged. I have oily skin and so far it’s been fine. I love the feeling of my skin after. The only down side is that it’s quite expensive. It’s lasted a month so far and I’m still going so will have to see if it’s lasts long enough to warrant the price tag!!!
    Rich moisturiser
I was lucky enough to receive this to test as part of a goodie bag. It is fragrance free, rich and hydrates the skin nicely. But I wouldn’t buy it full price when I can find same quality or better at lower price.
I find this cream very thick and heavy on the face I ordered a mini version and I’m not a big fan I prefer the one with the green lid protini
Really thick and divine cream. Ended up using as an eye cream overnight. Left skin so soft in the morning. Will re purchase. Will try more from this brand.
    The BEST face cream
I love this face cream. It leaves my skin hydrated and never irritates it. After many uses of different (and cheaper) moisturizers, the ingredients in this moisturizer work best for me. Even though it’s on the pricier side, I 100% recommend.
Gave me the worst breakout I've ever had
I ordered this a few weeks ago and this has given me the worst break put I've ever had! I swear I've got spots on top of spots and they are sooo painful! Maybe it's just me but I will never use this cream again. I stopped using it after 2 weeks and now my skins starting to get back to normal.
    It’s so niiice
I got this in the 2020 goody bag and it’s the cutest face cream ever. The texture is so so soft it really elevates the skincare experience it also makes the skin really soft, it could also be used under makeup. It’s really hydrating but isn’t oily.I Recommend it ♥️
    Perfect for my skin
I have really dry, sensitive skin, and this is just right for me. The second time I buy it, and I plan on sticking with it.
    I don't get the hype...
I must be missing something here, I bought this following lots of research and reading customer reviews and I'm afraid the product just really doesn't live up to the hype. It's an OK moisturiser, for sure, but there is nothing amazing about this at all, its just an everyday moisturiser no different to what you'd get off the shelf in Boots - Olay, L'Oreal etc. I wouldn't waste my money on it again.
Wow, bought this after reading reviews. The quality and feel are amazing. Really nourishing and not greasy, instantly my skin feels nourished after applying and stays that way for a considerable time. I have a normal and good skin type so works well for this. Would be good to be able to see how much is left as I am not going to know until I run out so this should be considered.
    Looks good on paper...but
Despite containing a blend of oils, ceramides and fatty acids this didn't do it for my dry, acne prone skin. It has a beautiful texture, that my skin soaked up immediately, leaving a nice velvety finish on the skin. Unfortunately, it felt tightening when it dried down, which is not appreciated for my already dry and dehydrated skin. My am and pm routine is all about hydration, but after a couple hours my skin felt in need for more moisture and hydration. This moisturiser isn't occlusive enough for my skin personally, and wasn't sufficient enough to keep my skin moisturised throughout the day/night.
    One of my faves
I love this moisturizer, it is great for my dry skin and works well under makeup. It smells a bit like play-doh, but the scent does not linger fortunately.
    Good but expensive
Currently on medication and this is one of the few creams that’s moisturizering on my v dry skin without causing break outs. Pretty expensive - but it’s your face after all. It cosmetics confidence in a cream is a slightly cheaper alternative
    Not really worth the hype
I’ve used this product for a few weeks now, I honestly think there are better and more efficient moisturisers out there for a cheaper price. The first hour my skin feels moisturised but then after a few hours, it almost feels like the cream goes away and the skin feels dry again. The only interesting thing is the pump that disperses the cream.
    The best
This is my go-to moisturiser, it is really the best. I use all other skincare products from another brand, but this is really the best cream for me. It is a miracle!
    The moisturiser next door
The perfect every day, it sinks into the skin beautifully, it's relatively scentless and it won't clog your pores or disrupt any makeup. For me, a moisturiser is used to treat your skin type and act as a seal the rest of your skincare and this does that. I will admit, as a dry girl this can sometimes be too much in summer, but in winter it's like a big drink of water on a hot summers day, say goodbye to dry patches and not feeling moisturised throughout the day. I cannot rave about this enough, a perfect moisturiser.
    Good but not incredible
Good product but not incredible. No smell.
it is literally amazing as I have really dry skin so this helped me hydrate and smoothed my skin.
    Great but a bit pricy
I have oily to combination skin & it really worked great on my skin but i wouldn't repurchase it there is way more similar moisturisers on a budget
This is the best moisturizer I have ever tried!! I will repurchase this when my jar is empty. Very nice formula and it is good for my sensitive skin
    3rd tub!!
I'm on my 3rd tub of this. It always sorts my skin out! Bought it originally as skin had gone crazy to fragrance and using just Drunk Elephant totally changed my skin. Less hormonal breakouts, almost none! And such clear smooth happy skin. Also use the C-Tango eye cream and the B-Hydra serum. Will also be buying the shampoo and the face wash bar today. For sensitive, delicate skin some in this range are absolutely perfect. This cream will solve your dry and sensitive skin issues.
    Drunk Elephant Moisturiser
Tried this as a cheaper alternative to Elemis. I’ll be sticking with Elemis which really soaks into my skin. This is thick and feels like it sits on the top of my skin rather than absorbing and actually moisturising.
    Very moisturising
Really smooth and non-greasy when on my face. Would recommend, the only downside is the price.
    The BEST
Truly the best moisturiser I have ever tried on my combination skin!
This product has been amazing on my skin. It was totally worth it. Definitely getting more.
I really like this cream, it is thick and creamy which leaves my face plump and moisturised! I have really dry skin and it combats that for me. I like that the packaging makes it feel hygienic since you don't have to put your fingers in the pot, however, it is annoying because you cant tell when you are running low...
    Highly recommended
I am on immunotherapy treatment which is drying my skin out, particularly on my face. Lala Retro is fantastic and is a perfect combination with Drunk Elephant B Hydra intensive serum. It really has help my skin. I had never heard of Drunk Elephant until my son's partner on Instagram recommended it. I will be ordering more!
    Simply precious
And this is how I fell in love with a moisturiser. Been through quite a few luxury brands face creams, none has made my skin this soft. Must be on my 4th jar and I am not changing! It’s a nourishing buttery cream that just feels velvety on my skin. No more dry skin. Amazing!
This has been the first drunk elephant product I have used after watching it on a Vogue Makeup tutorial. It is a lovely deep moisturiser that really feels like it is nourishing your skin without clogging your pores. I was slightly skeptical after seeing the other reviews mentioning the smell- but I really can’t smell anything unpleasant about the product. The packaging is amazing and such a lovely product to use.
    Not worth the money
This moisturiser is nothing special. It’s a simple basic cream you could buy for a fifth of the price. Don’t let the idea of it not containing the “suspicious six” fool you into thinking that it won’t irritate the skin. I find this can burn my skin if I put it on straight after I wash it.I also don’t find any it to be very helpful for very dry eczema-prone skin like mine. It is very thick and feels very rich, but when I wake up in the morning my skin is as dry as if I hadn’t worn a moisturiser at all. I wouldn’t recommend at all, especially for the price.
    an ok cream
It's an ok cream, but it didn't blow me away.I won't be repurchasing because it's a bit overpriced
I have combination skin- oily t zone and dry cheeks. I tried this and although the texture is lovely, it is definitely too much for my skin. I love the philosophy of the brand and will try this again next winter.
    Great for very dry skin
Very rich and creamy. More suited for people with very dry skin who don't mind a heavier moisturiser. My skin cannot live without it. Love it.
This moisturiser is great! Really puts a thick layer of hydration into/onto my skin and locks in for the whole day/night. Does have a very authentic smell of African oils. All over a very good product
    Rich, comforting cream
I do love this cream over either DE’s A-Passioni or the Framboose serum at night, mixed with a few drops of the marula oil. Keeps the ingredients in the serums locked in and allows them to do their work overnight. I love the packaging of Lala, and it does feel very comforting and moisturising on the skin, however, I’m not sure it justifies £50 a pop. Saying that, since I invested in the DE range my skin looks the best it has done for ages, so I may have to shell out again...
    Moisturise me
I have eczema prone, hormonal, combination skin and was worried that this would cause me to break out. I needn't have worried. It provides serious hydration without clogging my pores. It hasn't changed my life but it has become a staple in my routine and I would recommend it to others struggling to find a product to treat problem skin.
Drunk Elephant changed my skin and how i feel
Best product ever. Together with all the other products and the everyday cocktails, I make out of them my skin went from bad to perfect. I am getting so many compliments and makeup is nothing i really need anymore
    Solid moisturizing
Its thick, absorbs very well, doesn't leave an oily finish. Great moisturizer, it doesn't do any wonders but makes you feel comfortable with your skin for the dry/combination/dehydration prone ones. Solid moisturizing.
    Very happy with this product
Excellent for harsh winter weather (my skin is extremely dehydrated and sensitive). Love the applicator. No scent. Skin looks and feels very good. Also, I’ve noticed it slayed my dark circles (I yet have to find an eye cream that can do that). Bravo!
    Does the job
It’s very thick and heavy but surprisingly does not feel heavy within a few minutes of applying. It absorbs really well. I would definitely purchase again.
    Best Moisturiser Ever.
I got a sample first then bought the full size because it really is that good for my dry and rosacea-prone skin. Especially in Winter. Great texture. You only need one pump per use. No fragrance. More amazing when topped with the oil and F-balm. Kind of annoying that you can’t tell how much is left but the packaging protects it from air and light. Worth every penny.
    Nice but heavy
It feels like a really strong and decent moisturiser, but it is very thick and heavy, good for winter!
    Really good
I loved this moisturiser, such a lovely texture & sinks so nicely into the skin, gives it a nice smooth base. Only disadvantage is the price!
    Creamy but light
I have really dry skin and this has been a lifesaver for me... wish I could give it more than 5*. I’ll definitely re-purchase.
    Good moisturizer for winter
Just finished my first jar and it lasted two months of daily use morning and evening. I loved the texture so buttery and the lightweight feeling on the skin. I paired it with b-hydra most of the times and the cocktail gave good and long lasting hydration. I can’t say it’s the best moisturiser of all time but it’s pretty good.
    Gentle and fresh
This is a lovely product. Pretty much unscented and I love that it uses the pump out system so the cream in the tub is kept clean. Even though the cream is thick it absorbs quickly and is very gentle. Does a lovely job and great for under make up!
Love it! A little over priced though.
I’ve been using this moisturiser since Drunk Elephant was launched here in the UK and I LOVE it! It nourishes my skin, makes it feel silky soft and most importantly it calms my stressed out skin! I really like the dispenser too, one pump is enough to do my whole face. I mainly use it as a night cream as I was using it both am and pm but was quickly using up the jar. Looking through the ingredients list I have to say I think this moisturiser is a little overpriced for what it is. I now only buy it when there’s a special offer which fortunately there does seem to be frequent offers.
    Super moisturising and gentle
After nearly a decade of searching for the right moisturizer for my dry and ultra sensitive skin, I think I finally found the one. This cream is really emollient, which means that it might not be suitable for oily skin, but it can really help those who suffer from dryness like me. It also feels very soothing and calming after cleansing, and it makes redness disappear as well. Lastly, I've observed that overtime this cream made my skin more youthful and radiant. 10 out of 10 for this one!
    Love it!! But..
I love this cream, use it under makeup and at night, it is simple and does what it says but I don't know if it justifies the price
    Really good
It makes my skin soft. I use it at night but it's great under makeup too. The dispenser is great, you don't have to use your fingers, it's more hygienic. I would recommend and buy it again.
Yes this is expensive but it leaves your skin looking amazing, I use it at night and in the morning my skin looks refreshed. I also really like the dispenser - gives you just the right dose.
This is a dry skin saviour. A really, really great moisturizer for us dry girls - dry skin needs oils and good emollients, not so much water and this moisturizer is very oil-based. Great ingredients, I love that they added ceramides recently. Moisturizer is rich, very nourishing but doesn't feel too heavy on the face. Only minus that it's pricey and you can't see through the jar how much is left.
    My safe haven cream
I have used 3 tubes of Lala in the last 18 months. It's very nourishing and doesn't break me out. I like to try new things and i'm a bit of junkie when it comes to skin care. If ever in trouble I always go back to Lala..and I know it will save my face from any experiment :). I have always my stock and I use Protini as well for a lighter option.
Fantastic moisturiser that does what it says on the tin. FYI this works perfect under make up.
Another amazing product from Drunk Elephant! My skin is dry and struggles with most moisturisers, they go on well but my skin rejects them after a few hours. This moisturiser keeps my skin baby soft and smooth all day long. Love the packaging too, the pump lid keeps the product lump-free. Worth every penny.
    Love it
Great for my dry/reactive skin. Was worried the new formula would break me out but have had no problems. Totally recommend!!
    Very moisturising
My skin has never felt more hydrated and soft!
    So lovely
I've been eyeing Drunk Elephant products for a while now and decided to bite the bullet with the Lala Retro. It. Is. Divine. The texture is so lush, the packaging is genius, and sure it's a bit pricey, but I'll happily pay the price for ethically sourced ingredients and clinically clean formulations. Also I've noticed that when I apply it in the morning my skin stays soft and hydrated throughout the day! Just an all around lovely product.
    Simply the best
If this moisturiser were the only product on the market I wouldn't complain because I don't need anything else anymore. It's perfect both for winter and summer, and under makeup too. I love the fact that it has a natural smell, has zero perfume and is full of beneficial ingredients. Con(s)? The price tag, knowing that it lasts only a few weeks.
    very helpfull
This helped very much but you should mix it with serum and marula oil. I suffer from rosacea and my skin was very dehydrated, not anymore. Thank you very much Drunk Elephant!!!!
    Leaves an amazing glow!!
Have only been using this product for one day but already love it. I'd wanted to buy it for a while but couldn't bring myself to spend so much... It is a lot and there are definitely good, more affordable options. This is not a must have however it is amazing! My skin is already glowing, it leaves such a nice finish and feels so hydrated. The formula is super rich and mousse-y. I have oily/combination skin and this seems to work well for me. Overall, a really nice product!!
    Excellent moisturiser
After trying to avoid all the hype around Drunk Elephant, I finally fell down that rabbit hole and much to my dismay, pretty much all of their products have been great... And my bank account is lighter for it! I’m not sure this is a miracle cream but it’s an excellent moisturiser... as good as any I’ve ever used. One full pump doesn’t look much but it’s enough to cover the face and neck. If I need an extra oomph, I add a bit of extra Marula Oil to it. Tend to only use this at night and Protini during the day. It’s a big thumbs up from me for this.
    Very rich and luxurious!
I like my night moisturisers to be think to keep my skin moisturised during the nights. This is exactly what I would look for in a night time cream and it smells clean. I would use this during the day in the winter for sure! Not to mention the impressive list of ingredients, honestly I just love everything Drunk Elephant.
    It’s good
While this cream is very hydrating and thick, it doesn’t break me out or cause excessive oiliness. I really liked it I have to say. No drawbacks for this one.
    Not to die for.
Good moisturiser; however, probably better for normal to oily skin. Sinks in incredibly fast on dry skin - but does it do a miracle? Hardly. Which you’d expect at this price point. Paula’s Choice moisturisers are so much richer, cheaper, and don´t smell of anything greasy like this one. Unscented doesn’t have to mean a greasy scent.
Good but not better than the rest of them.
Good moisturiser, absorbs quickly with no tacky residue, but on a dry skin, it doesn’t feel as moisturising as it could be. The scent is, however, disappointing. Probably meant to be neutral, but it actually isn’t. It smells of something greasy? In general - not sure if it’s worth the price.
    Dry skin
Was not really worth the price did not seem to do anything that a normal face cream would not do. Disappointed.
    Nothing special...
Unfortunately as much as I love some other products from this brand. This one is just so so. I just not do anything. And for very dry skin it’s not giving enough moisture.
I received this product as a sample and used it over a few days. I did like this moisturiser but I wasn't blown away. The fact it pretty much had zero fragrance was a real bonus. It sunk into the skin well and did provide good moisture as I was coming to the end of my current day cream so I thought I would give this on a go until I saw the price...this is so ridiculously overpriced for what it does I was in shock totally not worth the hefty price point it would need to deliver a whole lot more to warrant £50.00. I would rate the cream 4 out of 5 but I gave 3 overall as for the price it did not deliver enough.
    Not for me
Was really excited to try this cream after seeing the great reviews although it doesn't work for me at all. I have normal/oily skin but like to have a good hydrating moisturiser for over night however this is just too thick for me and seems to sit on top of my skin rather than sinking in. Wish I could get on with it but just doesn't suit my skin :( May be more suited to dryer skin.
    Lovely moisturizing cream
Really love this cream! Even though the package is cool, the only negative thing is that you can’t really tell when the cream running out.
    Best moisturiser ever so hydrating
One of the best moisturiser ever super hydrating really good for dry skin and sensitive as it has no smell so it wouldn’t agitate the skin
I like it but I'm not sure if it's enough for my dry skin
I bought this a few weeks ago and so far so good. My skin is very dry and I usually prefer a night cream that is more moisturizing than this, but combined with the TLC serum and the Maruja oil my face seems to really like it. I am enjoying that combo and I would buy it again. I will give it a try as a day cream as well to see the difference.
    The best moisturiser!
I have had a big problem with all moisturisers that have perfume in them, also a lot of them didn't sink into the skin, but just sat on it. I did not enjoy that feeling. This one just smells natural and really moisturises the skin, it has done wonders to my skin care routine. I just love it so much!
    Favourite non-greasy moisturizer
I have acne-prone and dehydrated skin. Therefore I really hate moisturizers that are greasy and shiny. After applying Lala retro, my skin feels soft and semi-matte. It's my holy grail moisturizer.
    Matte, but nourished skin.
I like weird synthetical smells and I like the weird pump. A nice nourishing cream that leaves a semi-matte finish.
    Silky Smooth!
Really lovely creamy & rich feel to the moisturiser. It’s great on my sensitive skin as I suffer with eczema and this didn’t irritate it at all. Love the packaging also!
    My dehydrated skin thanked me!
My skin has been struggling with the weird weather recently - air con to heating and back to air con again, and as a result my face feels dry, tight and generally unhappy. I'm always wary of trying new products as I have super sensitive skin, but I tried the Lala cream last night (over the Drunk Elephant Hydration Serum) and could almost feel the sigh of relief from my skin! My face felt beautifully soft and really hydrated; the product sunk straight into my skin, but left a lovely glow behind - a far cry from the dull, uninspired autumn skin I'd started with! Highly recommended, especially for winter.
Sunday night is LALA Retro. Half a pump, combined with 6 drops of Marula Oil and Baby Facial, 30 minutes - wash. Zero irritation and the softest skin ever. Then 6 drops of Marula Oil alone and its sleepy time!
Feels like a cloud on your skin
Love love love this! I have dry skin and I enjoy this for no makeup days as it doesn't leave skin shiny. Will repurchase, highly recommend it for dry skin
    Not what I expected
I had such high expectations of this cream, given the price tag and the other reviews but this just did not work for me. I didn't like the smell at all, and it made my skin feel very dry, not moisturising for my dry and sensitive skin
I’ve always had dry skin and this product has done miracles for me. It’s the only product in my routine that I’ve changed and now my skin stays hydrated and supple all day, there’s no irritation whatsoever and over the course of 2 weeks it even made clogged pores vanish.
    Lala Lovely
This moisturiser is fantastic for dry tight skin and it will definitely continue to be in my skincare arsenal as the weather gets colder. I'm a firm believer in "listening" to your skin. If my skin feels normal/oily I'll only use this at night time and skip this in the morning (100% recommend using B-Hydra serum instead). If you are looking for a soothing, dependable and rich cream, Lala is for you.
