    • Why it's Cult

Serious skin, hair and body care heroes that don’t take themselves super seriously, Drunk Elephant’s rise to the top of the industry pops has been (rightfully!) meteoric. Founded by Tiffany Masterson who wanted to formulate products without any ‘fillers’, this all-star collection is powered by biocompatible actives – a mix of synthetic and plant-derived extracts – that skin recognises and knows what to do with. And, because of their ingredient-elimination philosophy, you won’t find any of the following ‘Suspicious 6’ – drying alcohols, silicones, SLS, chemical screens, essential oils or fragrances/dyes – so you can ‘reset’ your complexion and help both your skin and your tresses to flourish like never before.

Drunk Elephant - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum

Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum Reviews

    Not worth it
I have combination skin. The serum definitely did not hydrate or soothe my skin, nor did it reduce the appearance of fine lines. I didn't notice any healthy glow as promised. Won't repurchase this product.
    It's ok
I've been using Drunk Elephant products for a year and a half now and love their entire line. This serum is ok... I don't see huge differences in my skin like I do with the glycolic serum. Will probably try a different serum after this one is over.
    Nice product
It’s a very lovely and hydrating serum. I wouldn’t say it’s completely worth the price, but I would probably repurchase.
    Dry skin saviour
This serum is literally like water for your thirsty skin! Sometimes I mix it with their vitamin C day serum + 1 drop of marula oil and the result is AMAZING! My skin looks healthy and glows instantly! I’m on my 3rd bottle right now and I love it!
    Does what it says
Nice creamy gel formula which sinks in well on its own or layered with other products whether they’re also drunk elephant or not
    Love it
It’s a glass of water for the skin in the morning really. It’s a bit cooling and it’s so hydrating even for my dry skin in winter. This is my second product from drunk elephant and I love it want to try more.
    Good with retinol
I use it after retinol, and I had no problems with redness. Very good!
    Hydrating Beyond Belief
After using this serum my face has a wide awake feeling. Brilliant
    Does the job
I don't love it but don't hate it either. Its not the most hydrating serum that I’ve used, so if you’re looking for a creamy super hydrating serum think again. I use it when I feel like my skin needs a rest and I don't want to put too much products but still want it to be taken care.
    Holy grail!!!!
I have oily and acne prone skin. This product provides so much moisture without feeling too heavy or breaking me out. I use it every night before I apply moisturiser and when I wake up my skin always looks so plump and hydrated, with no oiliness in sight! The packaging is so cute as well, very high quality. I’d say my only downfall is that you never know how much product you have due to the bottle. So one day you go to use it and it’s just gone. Since my skin can’t live without it, the week waiting for it to arrive is torture. Currently going through this, waiting for my third bottle to arrive. Highly recommend this product!
    Not hydrating at all
This product is not hydrating at all and does nothing for the skin. There are much better hydrating serums on the market. It feels nice but this only lasts a few minutes and then it almost feels drying. I wouldn't recommend this product - save your money!
    Love love love!
It’s light, hydrating, and leaves my skin glowing. It works well in the mornings with C-Firma Day Serum or in the evening with an acid. Won’t be without it, I’m on my third bottle!
Solid serum just not very hydrating
Not the best for hydrating gives you a quick boost for a minute or two but not long term. However, like how the ingredients work on my skin, works really well with every product I've ever mixed it with, and works well layered. Works well under makeup.
I still haven't made my mind up about this product - I find the product really sticky and has a bit of a funky smell, and since adding it to my routine I have been breaking out a little more than usual. However, it does add that extra level of hydration, but I wouldn't say it's a staple! I wont be rebuying due to the price and the fact that my skin hasn't seen any drastic changes even after a few weeks of use, but is a nice luxury extra, just not a necessity!
    LOVE IT!
When using this serum you feel your skin giggling!
    Great Hydrating Cream
This product improved the hydration in my skin, definitely worth having in your skin routine.
    Love it
Great serum. Light, but nourishing. I love to mix it with drunk elephant retinoid cream at night or with marula oil. However, it is good on its own as well.
    Love it
Oily to combo skin. This serum is like a big glass of water for my skin. No scent, absorbs fast. Worth every penny. Pretty packaging but I don't think it is recyclable. Only down side.
Feels safe when skin is sensitive
I recently experienced my first bad reaction to another skincare product. My skin went dry, red and held a burning sensation so severe I felt the need to call my doctor. I had previously used a sample of this serum and was shocked by the quick effects it had on the plumpness and hydration of my skin. Fearful of trying out anything new on my irritated, sensitive skin, I purchased the full price and my skin has been loving it. Not oily, quickly absorbed and has helped to balance the oily production in my face. I use two pumps in the morning and one at night and haven't used a moisturiser whilst doing this. I agree with others that there are other serums on the market for less with similar/arguably better ingredients, but I now feel safe with this product and will continue to repurchase. 4* as I feel £40 is a little excessive for 50ml.
    Good product but ...
I have combo acne prone skin!! So when I first used this serum it dried me out. But when I mix it with their protini polypeptide cream it went on smoothly on my skin & did not dry me out. So I would recommend mixing it with other heavier occlusive creams.
    Love it
Definitely will buy it again , perfect for oily skin
    New favorite serum...
This is so light. It soothed my irritated sore skin. If I’m having any sort of break out or irritation I will use this. Leaves my skin soothed, bright and super hydrated! Love this .
    Soothing, layers well
This serum is light, water-based, and without any irritants or heavy oils. The B-Hydra serum is one of my favourite Drunk Elephant products, possibly top of the list. I dislike running out of it; I always miss it when I'm out. I use it before a night or day moisturiser. It works beautifully around the eyes. Drunk Elephant ingredients and packaging make it worth the expenditure.
    Saves my skin
When my hayfever or eczema plays up this really helps bring my skin back to its best within 24 hours. As my eczema cream is too harsh for my face I find using this product to dilute the cream while hydrating my skin works a treat. It also works well on its own for my skin - especially around more sensitive parts of my face.
    Great serum for the morning
I love this hydrating serum as part of my morning routine! I have quite dull, dry skin and find that this serum makes my skin look bright and hydrated without breaking me out. I don't think it should be used instead of a moisturiser as it isn't meant for that, however when used together they work great. My morning routine now consists of a cleanser, this serum, a moisturiser and SPF - this routine leaves me with bright, glowy skin. I don't think this product is essential, but is a nice hydrating boost alongside a moisturiser and leaves a nice base for makeup in the morning.
Not hydrating enough on its own
I bought it thinking I would be able to use it instead of day cream as I have oily skin. However, it is not nearly hydrating enough on its own. I like the consistency and the feel of it but I wouldn't recommend using it instead of a moisturiser.
It's good, but not wow for the price.
I really like the texture of this and it leaves a nice feeling on the skin, I think a good basic hydrating serum. I give it 3 stars however because for this price I expect more from a serum-like put the niacinamide higher up in the ingredient list, same for hyaluronic, maybe through in some peptides. There are serums out there that do more for the price but this one is pretty so if you have the money to spare, go ahead. It's not one of those cases where you can say "it's expensive but it's a great formula". it's just okay.
    It’s a staple.
On to my third full-size bottle of this serum and for me it’s a keeper. Huge fan of the Drunk range overall given how stable their products make my skin (no breakouts, good level of moisturisation, etc). 4 stars as there are other serums out there with ingredients that pack a greater punch for the same price but you can’t go wrong with this one if you want a consistent first layer every day.
    Works fine but there's better
I am on my second bottle of B-Hydra but it has unfortunately found it's way to the back of my skincare shelf as I have discovered new serums that I find work much better. B-Hydra is very unoffencive and does a fine job, however I think there are more advanced hydration serums on the market for a similar price.
Love it for my oily skin
I have oily skin and mixing this in with my other DE products or just using it on its own really helps with my oily skin, and makes my skin feel hydrated. My skin is so clear and soft since using DE products. DE is expensive so if you are unsure I would purchase one of the littles sets before investing in the full size items. Also you only need a little bit of product so this will last me a while before I have to re purchase. Highly recommend, will be repurchasing.
Okay .... but had same results for cheaper prices.
I really love the texture of this it’s very light and soothing and I love the bottle BUT for the money I’ve had very similar effects for cheaper products so not sure that I could justify buying this again.
    Water for skin
An absolute must-have product, for me.
    Favourite thing in the morning
I’m not sure what it does, but I can’t go a day without it. It really is like a drink for the skin and I love the cooling effect that it gives me. It’s a pleasure to use - the look, the texture, the feeling on the skin.
    My new favourite serum
I have super sensitive acne prone skin and this serum keeps my skin hydrated, calm and with spots at bay. It soaks in so well and makes my skin feel super soft and hydrated for the day. An absolute must in my skincare routine now!!
This is by far my most favourite DE product. I am already on my second bottle and can’t do without it! It’s great on its own and also when mixed with C Firma.
    Nothing special
Similar to the experience of other reviewers, don’t think this was anything to write home about. Didn’t really do anything at all. Didn’t do harm but didn’t do good either. I went for months without even using it until I discovered I can mix it in with my moisturiser which kind of gives better results than using it as a serum alone.
    Good but nothing special
I got a small size of this along with the Vit C serum, so have tried it out as well. It is very moisturising, but it feels like it takes quite a while to sink into my skin. Other serums seem to do the same job for me, so I wouldn't buy this product on its own.
    Not worth the money
Sinks in immediately but wasn’t hydrating at all.
    Good, hydrating serum but expensive
It does the job but for the price, I was expecting a bit more. Packaging is on point and really nice. But what matters is the content and, for me, it's just a basic, hydrating serum. BF really likes it though to calm the post-shave rash.
    Serum Review
Expected more of this product. Although it hydrates it does not leave a moist after feeling. No smell at all. Something I didn't like. Will use, but not repurchase.
    Not worth it
It does what it does, gives you a boost of hydration but it is not a unique product, nor is it worth the price point at all. You could get a similar serum at your local drugstore and that for me does not make me want to repurchase.
    multipurpose serum
My go-to serum that only adds to one’s moisturiser benefits. I sometimes blend it with T.L.C at night, but also find it ok to be used solo, especially on days you don’t need much on your face. Size is great and will serve you well, as you’ll only need 2 tiny pumps of product to cover your face :)
    Love this serum
Really nice, lightweight serum. I always mix in with the Protini moisturiser at night or use in the morning before my SPF. Love the ingredients and that you get 50ml of product instead of the standard 30ml for serum. <3 <3
Great for my oily/combination skin. Doesn’t cause breakouts or excessive shine. Skin feels nicely hydrated and soft.
    On my 3rd bottle
Perfect for day time as an alternative to moisturiser. Sits well underneath make up as it’s light, doesn’t pill and doesn’t leave any sticky residue like lots of other hyaluronic serums I’ve tried. On application, it feels very refreshing. I agree with some other reviews here that say it literally feels like a cool drink of water for your face.
    Good serum
It is a good serum, but considering the price point it might not be worth it.
It just doesn't do anything. It sinks in quickly and isn't sticky or anything, but no difference at all and I use this as a standalone moisturiser. I am 23 and my skin is normal to combination.
I am on a second purchase already, a light serum which is perfect for day time use. it doesn't aggravate my sensitive skin and absorbs perfectly.
    Love it!
I use it together with my c firma serum in the morning and the Lala retro whipped cream, works great together!
Until the age of 22 I had pretty much perfect skin: baby soft, even skin tone, very rarely getting a spot. Then it all went downhill, hello adult acne. I've tried sooo many products since then, I think all combined I've spent a fortune - to no end. I was considering getting some proper laser treatments or medication, but then I saw Drunk Elephant was launching in the UK and I thought, one more try, and I ordered the Littles and A-Passioni. "Thankfully" not all products worked for me, otherwise I'd have a VERY expensive skin care routine. But the things that worked, oh my goodness they did WONDERS to my skin. These are the TLC and the B-Hydra serums along with A-Passioni. For the first time in four years I'm once again confident about my complexion. Yes, these products are expensive, but to me they are worth it if it means I have clear, bright and soft skin.
    Pretty good but overhyped
Got the mini of this in one of the bundles and I have to say I do like it for a extra boost of moisture under my normal moisturiser however I don't think it does enough to justify the price.
    Great for oily skin
It's a really good Serum for oily dehydrated skin! I use it to mix in with my C-Firma in the morning a sometimes on its own in the evening for some extra hydration! Love it! Don't clog my pores and sinks right into the skin! Highly recommend!
    Decent and smells good
I'm not sure it does a lot, but for the 50 ml the price is decent. I especially love the soap-bubble smell of it, reminds me of purity ^_^
    Agréable - Pleasant
Bon sérum hydratant, sans plus ***** good moisturizing serum, no more
This does not really impart much hydration or moisture on its own, you’d have to use a lot of product for it to spread well which means this will run out very quickly. It is much better when mixed in with other drunk elephant serums and moisturisers. Therefore at £52 it’s not worth the money. You’d end up spending at least £110 to get the full benefit. You could buy any other silicone free Hyaluronic Serum at a reasonable price to do the same thing instead.
    First try...bodes well!
I just used this product for the first time last night and have woken up to much happier, better-hydrated skin! It absorbed instantly and left me with a silky base on which to apply the Lala Whipped Cream and my dehydrated skin was instantly soooo much happier. I'll definitely be using this regularly to support my skin as we move into the colder months.
    The good stuff
Really nice acid, it has no sticky residue like most and leaves skin feeling plump and hydrated! Also mixes in well with other products. 100% recommend.
Know what you are paying for
This is the first Drunk Elephant product I purchased since it (finally) launched in the UK. I have to say it is quite expensive for a simple hydrating serum, but it is so pleasant to use as it does not get sticky like other hyaluronic acid products, so it’s perfect for laying. I would say the hydration effect is medium, so it’s suitable for oily to slightly dry skin types, really dry skin might need something “stronger” or layer other products. I would also suggest using a mist right before applying this, so that you don’t run out of it in a month and the hyaluronic acid can work better. I usually need two pumps of this for the face and neck. Luckily I received an email from Cult Beauty that I’ll get a refund, as DE has come to their senses and decided to decrease their UK prices a little bit, so it makes the price a little more acceptable now.
    Does it really do anything?
This serum is strange. I used to pair it with Drunk elephant's retinol cream and it worked alright I guess. Eventually when i stopped using the retinol and tried this on its own as well as with other moisturisers. Sadly it does not do what it claims. It does not hydrate, does not soothe, does not reduce the appearance of fine lines and cherry on top, sometimes my face would even tingle after application of this (ps. I am not using any acids or actives at the moment)! I gave this serum a good few attempts (I am on my second bottle now) and I can't wait for this serum to finish so I can be done with it. 2 stars only because it did not harm my skin.
    Great serum
I tried a mini version of this and came back for the bigger bottle. It’s really hydrating and works well with my other skincare products. I find hyaluronic acid sometimes doesn’t react with my skin well, but I love this. I have dry, sensitive skin and this provides moisture without irritating my skin. I use this in the morning as it sinks into the skin quickly, I use it along with Dr. Jart ceramidin spray and an SPF for a quick and hydrating morning routine. This isn’t a dewy serum, so it may not look like it’s doing anything but a combination of the two products has eliminated those irritating dry patches of skin.
    Best hydrating serum for me
I've tried A LOT of hyaluronic acid based hydrating serums for my dry and sensitive skin but this one is just the best for me and I have repurchased time and time again. It absorbs quickly, isn't tacky, gives long lasting hydration all day, works well under almost any moisturiser, primer, or foundation.
    Did nothing for my skin
I bought this back in May 2020 together with the glycolic night serum. Just like the serum, this product did nothing on my skin. Simply nothing. Used it consistently over a period of night and it did nothing. Would be curious to know what skin types the people that "love" it have. Packaging for both is a great and beautiful colour, but that`s about it.
I got a small size of this, and to be honest I was hoping I wouldn't like it so that I wouldn't have to justify wanting to buy a full size of it to add to my routine. I put it on after my vitamin c serum in the morning, and before my oil, and my skin is now like silk. Damn. I might have to add this to my routine.
    Lovely, Soothing & Lightweight
This was my first love when it came to hydrating serums, especially as usually I like a more creamy, serum texture and this does feel really nice on the skin. I like applying this first on a damp face or if I am using all Drunk Elephant products, a smoothie of their products.
    Not Hydrating
I like the texture of the serum, is light and absorb instantly, however leaving the skin dry even if used in combination with cream. This serum does not do the job at all.
I'm giving this one another chance
I don’t love it but I don’t hate it either. It’s just okay. I’ve used it several times now and over various different toners and it didn’t ever pile when layered with multiple products which is good. All in all the jury’s still out on this one as far as noticing any changes in my skin, but I will persevere...
    Not hydrating
This serum absorbed into my skin in 5mins and my face felt very dry after like 30mins. I have used the serum in combination with both Drunk Elephant’s Lala Retro Whipped Cream and Fresh’s Rose Deep Hydration Moisturiser - still feeling dry. I recommend people not to purchase this serum.
    Great hydrating serum
I really like this serum as an additional hydrating boost to my skin. I use it after toning and sometimes combine with C-Firma - it immediately smooths and hydrates my skin and sinks in straight away. Would absolutely repurchase.
    It's just ok
My skin is combo, 30 y/o, using mild retinol sparingly. This does NOT give you 24 hours of hydration, not EVEN close. Upon application, skin does indeed feel hydrated, but just a few hours afterward it's tight and uncomfortable. It's as if it's drawing moisture out of my skin. I reckon this would be fine for you if you have very oily skin. My skin much preferred the much cheaper Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium hyaluronic acid I used before this as it really held moisture for an eternity. So this is a hard pass for me!
    Nutrition, but not hydration
Undoubtedly, the quality and richness of components, ingredients in this cream is top. However, having a dehydrated skin, after applying it, you do not have a feeling of a moisturised skin. At all. It feels dry after 5 min. Good product, just probably not the one I need.
The bff for retin-a and retinol
I always use this with my Retin-A and my retinol and follow with a moisturiser and keeps the side effects under control!!
    Best Hydration Serum
I love to use this with other Drunk Elephant products just mix with d-bronze in the morning or with any other product at night. Full of ceramides, B5 and lots of hydration in superb packaging that is airtight. Purchased many times and will continue to do so. Its super smooth on the skin and the skin drinks it in right away, really light. Just Brilliant.
This serum is very light, perfect for the morning. The texture is great and it really does it's job.
Feels hydrating but you need a lot of it.
Amazing serum for hydration, it didn’t break me out but I needed more product to feel the hydration, so it ended really fast...
I purchased this to use with CFirma and TLC the first time I tried DE but it was meh. My skin is dry/combo and as an ex-acne sufferer I have an occasional spot every now and then. This product didn’t cause any breakouts but it didn’t provide the extra hydration boost that I need which is really disappointing considering the price and that I truly love the other two products.
    Can't live without
I am a huge fan of DE products and this one is my favorite! I first tried it in one of their "the littles" kit and I felt my skin reviving! I bought the full size and I am now kind of addicted to it. My rosacea remains tamed and my skin is deeply hydrated plus it works as a base to mix any DE product.I have used it both with lala retro and protini and I think that it works its best with protini as Lala retro is a bit too heavy (at least for my skin). I am in my 3rd bottle and I am about to order 2 more. It was the only skincare product I used during my pregnancy as it is super safe.
    Not for dry skin
I hate to do it to Drunk Elephant - a brand I usually enjoy, but this serum is just a big miss for me. I tried it first in winter (deluxe sample was part of Christmas set) and it just didn't work. I thought well, maybe it will work better at summer, when my skin is more normal to combination. Tried it again this summer, and still my skin is dry as Sahara. For a serum marketed as "Intense Hydration" and targeted for all skin types it's not that hydrating. I can see how oily skin types may enjoy it, but if your skin is normal to dry - most likely it won't provide enough moisture. I must say it does have very nice silky texture, no detectable smell, no breakouts or other reaction on my sensitive skin. I just wish it performed as marketed.
I read reviews on this product and wasn't sure! I've been testing it now for a few weeks and I do really like it. My skin feels plump & hydrated. Not sure if that is the lots of other products I use however! Not sure its worth 40 quid!
Love this serum, it is hydrating and light weight. I think this is an amazing product for combination to oily skin. Will definetly buy it again.
    Okay Product
I wanted to love this product so badly! However, for me, it just doesn't provide that moisture injection that my skin needs. That being said I do like the Lala Retro Whip and I LOVE the DE macula oil so its nice to mix this in with those.
I really like the Drunk Elephant hydrating serum. It really hydrates my skin. I use it after my hyaluronic acid and vitamin c. It cools my skin down as well which I love. Will deffo buy again.
    Love this so much
This is one of my favourite serums - it really makes a difference to my dehydrated skin. I always layer it with other products to lock it in, but love this so much!
    I like it.
I Really like this one. It's not all that bad for the price. Really hydrating and it feels nice and refreshing.
    Great hydrating serum
It's a beautiful serum. I prefer this consistency over other more runny hydrating serums. It does hydrate. However, for me, I'm not sure this is a necessary product. Nice, but not necessary.
    Works well with oily skin
I’ve been using this serum for over a month now, and my previously constantly dehydrated skin is plump. The price is a bit up there, indeed, but I think it’s worth it.
    Just O.K.
I got this with my A - Passioni sample. The product is average at best. It is light and absorbs into the skin quickly, which is good for my oily skin to an extent. I just don’t think it is hydrating enough. It’s just a bit ‘meh’ nothing amazing. I don’t know why but I was expecting more from this moisturiser, since I am using other DE products which are 5*. I wouldn’t buy this in the bigger bottle, I will be looking for more effective moisturiser after sample runs out.
    Not too much
I am quite disappointed because I can not see it does anything else to my skin apart from hydration. It's important to keep the skin hydrated I know, but with the price tag, there are so many good alternative out there. A so-so product for me.
    Not worth the money!
Although this is a fairly nice serum with regards to consistency and smell, I do not believe it is worthy of its price as a skin hydrator. This does not give me the boost of hydration I was hoping for on its own and I now use it along side The Ordinary’s 100% plant derived squalane to get a surge of moisture into my skin. If used alone I actually think it dehydrates the skin slightly. I concentrate the use on my forehead as that is where I have the appearance of fine lines but I don’t think it works to combat those either! I will not repurchase and am only continuing to use because of the price it was purchased for.
    Didn't do much for me
I decided to try it after all the rave reviews, but it didn't do much for my skin at all. I have combination skin with the cheek area quite dry so it still left it dry and didn't make much difference at all. But I'm giving it 2 star also because of the ridiculously irresponsible plastic packaging that it comes in. It's about 10 times bigger than it should be. Come on, guys it's 2020!
    Cant live without!
I received this once from an IG mystery box giveaway, I had never heard of the brand or anything but I gave It a try. I have never loved a serum more than this! I have sensitive and dry skin but I hate a cream texture. When I use this I can get away with a gel moisturizer on top. I am on my 4th bottle now, I will keep buying this
A great replacement for a hyaluronic acid :)
I decided to switch the usual hyaluronic acid step in my skincare routine with this one and it seems to be working great! It really feels like a splash of cool water on your skin :)
    Hard to say
I have used this serum always in conjunction with a very good moisturizer on top and it’s hard to say if this product has made a difference. I think is one of those products that helps in the routine to add moisture but it needs to be topped with other products for showing it’s best. I sure can say that you get a lot of product and the bottle will last you for a while. Maybe I will retry in summer as my skin should be in less needing of hydration. Smells good and texture is fresh.
Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum
I had high hopes for this after trying a sample size with my purchase of A-Passioni and I really did like it at first. As a serum it really boosted the effectiveness of my moisturiser. However on purchasing the full-sized bottle, I noticed the serum has a runnier texture and doesn't do much for me. Maybe the formulation has changed? If so, I prefer the older version 100x more. Disappointing and I won't repurchase.
    Very good
    Perfect product.
I have combination skin and while using this serum I felt that it did not give me the boost of hydration as I kind of expected. Nothing special, will not repurchase or recommend.
    does the job
This is a good hydrating serum - does the job well and it has a very nice texture.
    Not impressed
I have an oily skin type and realised I should be looking for something to hydrate my skin as opposed to something that moisturises. I was really excited to try this as it seemed to be targeted at more dehydrated and oily skin types. But I just don’t understand this product! Firstly, it’s more a serum and cannot be used alone as it’s just a weird texture to put on the skin. Even when I mix this in with my moisturiser, it makes absolutely no difference. Although it doesn’t break me out, it doesn’t help either and the texture just doesn’t apply nicely to my textured, dehydrated and oily skin. Thought I had found something to finally work but looks like I’m still searching...
    Best hydrating serum
Anyone reviewing this and giving it a low rating that’s using it as a stand alone moisturizer - you’re missing the point. Serums are used before moisturizers to help other products penetrate deeper into the skin and the hyaluronic content helps lock the moisture in. If you’re using it alone it’s not going to be able to do any of that.
    Ok hydrating serum
I found this serum to be just average. It does help lock in some other serums, it is non oily and very matte. However, I did not feel super moisturised with it. Bioderma Hydrabio Serum is much MUCH cheaper and does a great job - hydrates and plumps, and is super matte - no traces after appliyng.
    Would recommend to anybody
I use it twice daily and cannot imagine my skincare routine without it. It's very plumping and smoothing, you must put a moisturiser over it to get the best results. Products like SPF or makeup apply beautifully over it. Superior over all other hyaluronic acid serums.
    very helpful
I have been using this serum for almost three weeks. I have rosacea and my skin suffered a lot this lately - it was red and dehydrated. Using this has shown a great improvement.
    Not a moisturiser
This isn’t a moisturiser so don’t treat it as one. This will draw water up from the skin but as it isn’t a moisturiser it won’t lock the moisture in. So please use this with a moisturiser otherwise you may not hydrate your skin.
    Love it
I put it after my hyaluron (HO) and before my spf cream. For my normal - dry dehydrated skin this routine is perfect.
    I really like it
I use the Drunk Elephant B-Hydra as a serum under LaLa or Protini and I mix it with C-Firma in the morning (followed by LaLa) - this makes my skin hydrated and glowing. I have normal/dry skin and mixing other DE products with the B-Hydra make my skin absorb the product-mix better! B-Hydra absorbs quickly - I like that.
Love the product - just overpriced
I'm 33 with dry/very dry sensitive skin. I recently switched my skincare to mostly Drunk Elephant products (and a few from Paula's Choice). I have seen significant improvement in dry patches and zero irritation. B-Hydra sinks into the skin immediately and has a relatively thin consistency without any stickiness. Mixes in perfectly with DE C-Firma and Protini. Whilst the product does deliver, £44 for a hydrating serum does feel excessive. It's the least 'exciting' DE product IMO and considering the whole range is expensive, if I had to give up one product, it would be B-hydra. Having said that, I'll probably repurchase when it's on promotion/discount.
    always try in samples firstly
I have a mini version of this serum from Rescue Party Kit, and when I used it firstly, I thought that I will buy it in full-size, but after the second and third application a lot of clogged pores and small pimples occured on my cheeks, and when I tried to use it two weeks later, the effect was the same. So, I totally can't recommend this serum. If you think that you want this serum or any other Drunk Elephant item, please, buy it in minis to understand the effect and save the money!
Glass of icy water for the skin
Exactly what is said, a cold glass of water for the face. I first got B-Hydra in the mini set and didn't repurchase the full size for a while, I started to see my skin become less radiant and had to repurchase straight away, such a great product for my dry skin.
    B-hydra serum
Do you have to use a moisturizer after the serum?
Fave out of all the DE products
At nearly €1 per ml it is expeeeeensive. But it does something remarkable to my skin and I am worth it. It doesn't irritate me and works well with my BodyShop Aloe creams. And I mix them because B-hydra is a humectant, and I need an occlusive to seal in all the moisture. Otherwise its not as useful.
Overpriced and over hyped for what it does. I have combination skin and it didn't moisturise much.. I have to wear a stronger moisturiser on top.. Not worth it.
Great addition to your regular moisturiser
My skin is acne prone, combination and dehydrated. I’ve been using an expensive clinic B5 serum for sometime. It’s double the price of this for half the amount of product and does the same thing. If anything this is nicer to use as it leaves a cooling effect. Can be used on its own but I like to layer my regular moisturiser over the top day and night. If your looking for hydration without saturation then this is ideal, I’ve now stopped using facial oils as they just never absorb enough to use in the day too.
    Good basic hydrating serum
I quite enjoyed this serum. It works well under makeup or mixed and layered with other products. The texture is like a thicker gel but it absorbs quickly and doesn't leave any tackiness or feeling of your skin being covered. I have quite dry skin so I like the added hydration
This is in a gel formula and the texture of it is so nice. I mix it with the marula oil and it is the best combo. I love this and will definitely buy again.
    Not sure...
It has a gel texture that transforms into a water burst and initially it feels very good but after a minute it feels like nothing. A hydrating toner (is&tree ,hada labo, klairs) will hydrate 10000 times better and help the absorption of other products and it's 30 euros cheaper...
    Decent hydrating serum
I got a 15ml as part of a set and I cocktail it with C-Firma every morning. I'd say it gets the job done but not particularly value for money where there are other brands at better price points with HA serums that give instant hydration. It's a gel texture that absorbs beautifully and leaves no residue. I wouldn't compare this to The Ordinary as the efficacy of this is better. I like the product but with so many options of well-priced HA serums, I wouldn't think this is the best value for money product.
