Worth the hype

I’ve used a tonne of different lip balms over the years, ranging from Burt’s Bees to La Mer, before finally giving into the hype and giving this a go. Are there other lip balms on the market that do a similar job for a fraction of the price? Probably. But I see why this has acquired cult status. It feels very luxury in both packaging and product, the type of product you look forward to using, it has a rose scent that isn’t too overpowering for those not crazy about it like myself, it’s not super sticky but does give a nice sheen for no makeup days, and it definitely delivers on moisturising lips nicely. Pleased with purchase - and hoping it lasts a while before I have to top up!

Okay lip balm

This is meant to be a Holy Grail kind of lip balm so I had very high expectations for it. I have had very dry, cracked lips recently with the change of season and I bought this to see if it would help based on very positive reviews. Initially, this seemed to cause some improvement in my lips, but I had to constantly re-apply it to keep my lips moisturised and prevent further dryness/cracking. After applying it constantly over a period of weeks, I found that it was just not making a huge difference to my lips. It was very nice but just not effective enough to really heal my damaged lips. It has a lovely texture, smells nice and goes on very well under lipstick, but at this price point I really expected it to heal my cracked lips as well. So it's more of an everyday basic lip balm for me that smells pretty, and not something I would reach for to actually heal damaged lips.
