Coming from a long line of luxury cognac brewers, Kilian Hennessy was never a stranger to decadent, sophisticated aromas. Throughout his childhood, the syrupy, woody scent of the angel's share (the evaporation from cognac cellars) shadowed him, and this can be seen in his fragrances today: many of his signature scents give a nod to the sweet sugar of alcohol and the wood of cognac barrels. One of the most experienced noses in the industry, Kilian prioritises the environment (each bottle can be refilled and kept for a lifetime), elegance and timeless luxury above anything else.
Hiding within the alluring depths of this black-lacquered bottle is a captivating ode to sandalwood. Part of the woodsy Cellar family of fragrances, Sacred Wood highlights the all-encompassing intensity of this lusted-after scent with spicy aromas that excite and entice the wearer and all who cross their path.
Opening with a spicy, earthy blend of ambrette and carrot seed essence, the coveted sandalwood accord is then revealed to the wearer - sourced from Mysore for its uniquely woodsy, milky facets - then blended with Moroccan cedarwood oil atlas and amyris oil. As this heady, woody aroma settles, a warming air of Copaiba balsam oil unfolds to reach the crescendo of this sacred scent with a malted, incense-like aroma that is exceptionally long-lasting.

sandalwood perfume
It has a deep, woodsy smell and more of an masculine-leaning scents perfume for me. The scent is warm, woodsy, and a bit musky. Doesn’t really have any sweetness to it so if you like the deeper perfumes you’ll like this!

This smells good and although I thought it wasn't that strong I was told by others it is. A warming woody fragrance with resins.

Great scent but weak projection
I followed the hype and bought this one. It's a good scent, but the projection is weak. This is kind of the issue with all Kilian fragrances. If I'm buying EDP, I'd expect a better performance. After 10-15 minutes, I can smell nothing unless my nose is close to my skin.
