Squeeze a raspberry-sized amount onto your hand then gently massage onto dry skin, working the balm into the skin. Add a splash of warm water to emulsify and continue to work into skin then rinse thoroughly.

This doesn’t foam up at all and is thick to squeeze out the tube. It leaves a kind of film over your skin which at first does feel a little odd however very moisturising. It’s good for taking off your make up however I feel that I then have to use another product to clean my skin again.

This is a decent alternative to the Elemis balm if you’re not worried about the texture not being quite as smooth and not having a luxurious smell. You don’t need much to remove a full face of makeup but it does leave a bit of a film, so needs to be part of a double cleanse routine for me.

Hit or miss depending on preference
I can wholeheartedly say this cleansing balm is one I return to time and time again especially if I want something affordable that cleanses well and still offers a good cleansing experience imo. I have oily skin and tend to prefer this balm during winter months because it can feel a bit heavy during summer months. I have heard that some feel a film after cleansing, but I have not experienced that - massage it, add water to emulsify and rinse off with water (I don't use a cloth for rinsing off, just for drying the face). I have also used this occasionally to "double cleanse" my foundation/blush makeup brushes.
