If you’re living in London, chances are you’ve passed the Earl of East stores and done a double take: picture a haven of plants, plush pillows and their all-famous home fragrances. Formed around four pillars – ‘Create’, ‘Curate’, ‘Collaborate’ and ‘Community’ – the Hackney-born studio is renowned for its candle-pouring and workshops. What started in Hackney as a succinct edit of candles has since evolved into a line of home fragrance favourites that spans across bath salts, incense and aromatic mists.
In a bid to disconnect from the fast-paced lifestyle of the city, Earl of East’s Shinrin-Yoku candle shows a great appreciation for Mother Nature and encourages experiencing the peaceful atmosphere of the great outdoors…specifically the calming spirits of the woods.
Inspired by the Japanese ritual of forest bathing (as the environment's atmosphere is said to lower heart rates, reduce stress and revive our immune system), the home fragrance’s earthy aromas take you right to the rejuvenating forest floor after the early morning rain abates. Infused with a blend of cedar wood, oakmoss and black pepper, the scent is calming, comforting and captivating. What’s more, it’s crafted entirely from eco-soy wax and essential oils, keeping Mother Nature happy too. Now, that’s what we call pure bliss.
