I discovered beauty products while studying to become a photographer. My friend would always use special effects make up for her photoshoots and that was when I recognised its power (beyond the brown eyeshadow and mascara that my mum used – and still rocks today!). I fell headfirst into the industry after discovering a whole world of beauty outside of special effects and got my first job in fragrance within a department store. I became obsessed, not only with the perfumes I was selling, but the skin care and beauty products around me, and moved on to work for a skin care brand that taught me everything I know about skin and how to help it flourish. But I found my real passion when I took a role for a make up brand (and many more after that). Make up to me is about enhancing the beauty that you already have and giving you the confidence to walk down the street like Naomi Campbell on a catwalk, whether that is with natural, ‘real skin’ make up or a full coverage, glitter moment. Pro tip? Heat your lash curlers with your hairdryer for five seconds to really help lift and curl your lashes.

    Botanical Repair Strengthening Shampoo

My Hair has gone through it in the past year. It has been cut, styled, dyed, and bleached a number of times. It had become thin and damaged, to say the least. This shampoo has started to bring my hair back to life. I have only been using it for a couple of months but can already see the difference in my hair. My hair feels softer and thick and looks the healthiest it has for a while. Personally, I dislike the smell (I think its ginger) but its not strong enough for me to stop using the products.

    Hangover 3-in-1 Setting Spray

As a freelance makeup artist, I am always looking for new products to have in my kit but this is a product that has never left it. A product that can be used for multiple reasons will always win me over. This primes, sets and refreshes your makeup. It is also oil-free which is great for my combination skin. When sprayed at the beginning of your routine, it is really hydrating because of the coconut water. It leaves the skin slightly tacky which is great to hold on my foundation. It keeps my makeup on all day after I use it to set. During the day when I may need a touch-up or a little refresh, this product does that for me. It holds my makeup and re-hydrates my skin. It does smell like coconuts so if you do not like coconuts then this might not be for you.

    AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser

This is one of my favourite exfoliating/cleanser products of all time. I have worked in the beauty industry for 6 years so I have tried many in that time. Nothing makes my skin feel the way this product does. I have combination skin so have a few areas that I like to fix. My dyer areas feel clean and nourished and my oily areas feel controlled and glowy (not shiny). I use this product twice a week without fail because I love the way it makes me feel. It has a gel-like texture that turns to foam when massaged into the skin. My skin feels clean, smooth and glows for the rest of the day. I cannot recommend this product enough.

    Benefit

    Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil

Benefit is known for its brow products and so I was super excited to try this product. It didn’t quite hit the mark. I found that the pencil was bigger than I hoped so I had to try and be precise when applying. The product, once on the brow, moved around a little so I would not recommend using the product on its own and would have to recommend applying brow gel on top. I found the product formula really dry and therefore found the product did snap on multiple occasions. One thing I did like was the colour. They have a great colour range for this product so that is good.
