The multi-tasking Blemish Control Cleanser is a gel to foam formula infused with 2% salicylic acid to banish new blemishes and treat breakouts, and hectorite clay to absorb excess oil and minimise shine further this overachiever’s mission of clearer skin. Next up is the Resurfacing Retinol Cream that’s here to tackle blemish marks and uneven skin tone. Formulated with encapsulated retinol, this gentle alternative delivers the same skin-resurfacing powers as typical retinol with added skin barrier benefits. As with all CeraVe creations, we can count on this formula to include their three must-have ceramides and niacinamide to lock in moisture and keep our skin barrier in tip-top shape.
Cleanser: Recommended use morning and evening. Use pump applicator to apply to wet hands and massage into the skin. Rinse thoroughly.
Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
Serum: Recommended use in the evening only and always follow with SPF protection in the daytime we suggest CeraVe AM Facial Moisturising Lotion SPF 50.
Use pump applicator to dispense product onto fingers. We suggest start with a small amount, and by using once a week. Then build up use that is tolerated by your skin.

I don't know
They both are good products but I love other cleansers from cerave more and the retinol serum did not do much for me. But if you are starting retinol I would say its perfect for a beginner.
