Avoid if you hate patchouli
2Based on the reviews I've read, I was so excited to get this perfume. It seemed like it was the perfect light perfume that was still sweet and smoky. As soon as I sprayed it on my skin, I couldn't figure out why I didn't like it. I could smell the sweet vanilla, but also something that smelled like an old person. Finally, after wearing it for hours and scrubbing it in the shower, I finally smelled it: patchouli! I can no longer smell any sweet or smoky aspects to this perfume, and I'm stuck with the lingering patchouli scent even after washing. I wish I could return this, but sadly, as it has been opened (obviously), I cannot.

Subtle but nice
3A lot more subtle than I expected. Not overly sweet but not really woody or smokey as some of the reviews claim and I was really hoping it would be. The dry down is very pleasant with a sweet powdery smell to it and last for a good few hours on the skin. Not as interesting as ‘By the fireplace’ but still a lovely perfume.

New Favourite
5This has to be a new favourite find. Bonus sentimental points as my boyfriend bought it because it’s inspired by Oxford which is where we met and now live. I loved the smoky, intense scents of Jazz Club and By the Fireside but felt like I could only wear them in the depths of winter or on a night out - which let’s face it, isn’t happening soon! Enter Whispers in the Library. A softer, slightly sweeter alternative but still with that masculine edge that I like to wear (I’m female). I feel like I can wear this at any time of year, day or night and it’ll boost my confidence and make me feel a little more sultry without being too overpowering. So if you like those other scents or Tom Ford’s Tobacce Vanille etc and want something lighter, try this.

My new signature scent
5I am in love with this scent. It exudes class and makes me feel so confident. Its sweet without being overly so and perfect for winter, with its warmer, spicy tones. It is a unisex scent, but im a woman and find its perfect for me as i like the deeper more sexy fragrances. I highly recommend this if you are looking for something a bit different but stunning and very wearable. It lasts for a very long time on my skin too! Buy it!
