5I switched from 1% to this 2% retinol product.All looks well. No irritation.

Not my jam
2I have combination skin and had never used a retinol product before. The consistency of this was a little greasy but it does soak in and leaves my skin feeling hydrated immediately after application. HOWEVER, I noticed that I was breaking out all of a sudden and couldn't figure why. After skipping this product from my nightly routine for just 3 days I am again blemish-free, and I don't think I will be happy to continue using it as I also didn't notice any of the positive effects I was expecting from a retinol product. I would switch to the emulsion but I would like to go up in retinol strength and The Ordinary do not do a higher strength in the emulsion yet.

Never again
1I've used up 2/3 of the bottle in a little more than a month and have seen no improvements. The product never sinks in and leaves my skin greasy. Also, it looks like I tend to break out more often cause once I stop using this for a few days, my skin clears out. In a nutshell, it might work for dry skin but oily/normal skin types had better stay away from the product.

Not what i expected
4Granactive retinoid too low for my thick skin with oily T-zone. But here is gentle and nice squalane for beautiful even skin. I give 4 stars for this.

The only retinoid for Sun sensitive skin
4I have tried many other retinol products before including the ordinary’s retinol everything else except this Granactive Retinoid 2% made my pigmented skin more sun sensitive. Since it's in Squalane, it doesn’t dry out the skin and makes skin soft and supple.

5I have a pretty simple nighttime routine - I wash or exfoliate and then moisturise, lately using this product. I have combination skin, and this seems to balance it out nicely during both dry and humid seasons. This isn’t water-based but also isn’t oily, spreads well and leaves quite a nice little glow in the morning. I am the late twenties with the beginnings of a few wrinkles and can see that the lines around my eyes and forehead are slightly smoother after use. I’ve tried a few products, including this brand and this particular one is the only one that I have seen any difference with so far. Definitely a great value product ☺️
