The Sting is worth it!
5Heard a few good things about this mask so decided to bite the bullet despite the high price tag but it is 100% worth it. My skin is super oily and congested but I do also get some dry patches and a tonne of blackheads. After 1 use of this mask my skin looks radiant and felt super smooth. When you first apply and rub it in (read the directions! It is applied differently to most masks) you do get an intense sting/burn which is intense but this only lasts 2 or 3 mins and then settles plus you only have the mask on for about 10 minutes so despite it not being the most relaxing of masks it honestly works.

Lives up to the hype
4I have a rollercoaster opinion about this product; the stinging was very intense in my first use and it was quite unbearable but it petered out. Granted that I'm a regular user of acids (Pixi, P50 etc.) and can usually handle most stinging, this almost freaked me out. I followed up using the PTR Cucumber Gel Masque (to not much success) and the skin above my forehead was peeling even though I had only left it on for 5 mins and did a gentle exfoliation much like what other reviewers have recommended so. I was more gingerly with it during subsequent uses and found that it was amazingly with an intensely hydrating mask after (i.e: Origins Drink Up Intensive, PTR Blue Marine Algae) and my face felt so smooth, supple and just glowy. So surprised by the effects as I was expecting it not to work. It's not going to blow your mind but just subtly impress you.

5Skin type: Combination dehydrated I received this in a 50ml size as part of a gift set for a birthday present and have used it about 5 times already. Firstly I would say this is good value for money as my 50ml looks untouched as you only need the thinnest layer as its potent stuff. I think I'll get another 15 uses out of it so the full size is probably going to last somebody a year using it twice weekly. My skin feels brand new after using it and I feel like my skin properly absorbs whatever I put on it next. The only thing that I don't love is the smell, it's sort of earthy with a hint of cinnamon but as its only on my face for 5 mins I can live with that!

Life changing
5This mask is changing my life! Before getting this I used the glamglow masks. They were good in that they kept things from getting worse. This mask however is fixing problems I have had for 10+ years. I have always had clogged pores all over my T-zone and nothing has helped. From first use of this mask I noticed a huge improvement and with continued use there are continued improvements. The tub is big and will last ages so overall it is going to save me a fortune too! It hurts when it goes on and for about 3 minutes but it is so worth it! I use it for 5 minutes, 3 times a week. This is by far the best mask I have ever used.

Best skincare line - oily, blemish prone, congested skin types
5I haven't left a review in my life, ever! But I honestly feel obliged to regarding the whole Peter Thomas Roth skincare line. Being in the beauty industry I have tried Clarins, La Mer, you name it - I have probably tried it. This line is different. You notice immediate results. Results which then continue to get better and better to the point I can't see myself ever going back to/trying anything else. I have very sensitive skin, blemish prone and oily. I have used prescribed topical medications for spots previously. And as per other reviews if you can get past the initial 2-3 minute active phase, (I plead you do!) you will be over the moon you have. Another mask which is beyond brilliant is the "Therapeutic Sulfur Mask", hopefully Cult take this one on board in the future. Can't big this brand up enough. If you aren't bothered about how products smell but rather what they do (the whole purpose), you are going to adore the results. Another huge advantage these masks have is the cost per use aspect. Paint on with a foundation brush to ensure you aren't being excessive and these will easily last for 9-12 months. And that is based on using 2-3 times a week. 10/10!! Actually wrote a letter to the marketing dept. at PTR thanking them for creating this brand and giving me the best skin I have had since I was 14/15 years old. I am 24.

The holy grail of masks!
5The most amazing mask I've ever used, & I've tried so many! This is really holy grail stuff! I have combination skin, dry cheeks & forehead with oily chin & nose. This mask does sting a little but after a couple of minutes the stinging goes. You are left with such soft, luminous skin. It literally glows. The jar lasts for ages too which is a bonus. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Be gentle
4I've been dying to try this for ages and read many very positive reviews. I had very high expectation and while this didn't disappoint I was expecting more in the way of an immediate and apparent difference in skin texture. Do be very gentle when applying this product. It contains a lot of tiny physical particles that can feel very scratchy and I suspect this might be what causes a lot of the reported stinging and redness. I do have sensitive skin and it goes red very easily. The second time I used it, I was conscious of having a much lighter touch both when applying and doing the wet finger circular motions. This resulted in no stinging but a sensation of coldness (similar to that of mint on the skin). Although I'm quite happy to continue using this, I'm not sure I'd buy it again as I have used better masks where the results are more evident.

Very strong but very effective!
5I have very sensitive, oily blemish prone skin, so whenever I use this mask it does sting/tingle quite a bit for the first minute or so. For anyone else with very sensitive skin I'd recommend not to rub the mask in as it can make my skin very red and stingy, just leave the mask on for 3/4 mins and it works a treat! Skin feels amazingly soft and smooth and definitely helps with oil control :)

I have sensitive skin & this mask is amazing
5I have sensitive skin but I thought I would buy this mask and give it a try. I applied a thin layer and my face and it started to tingle but was a mild sensation. After I removed the mask my skin was smooth clear and glowing! So for sensitive skin use a very thin layer. I then decided to use it on my knees and elbows as I have dry skin and I'm a bit lazy to exfoliate. Wow! What a difference, my knees and elbows are smooth and the mask has helped with pigmentation I have in those areas. So give it a go and you won't be disappointed.

Grew to love this
5Initially when I tried this it felt like my face was on fire and I had to remove it instantly. However, when I got the courage to try using it again I found that although it was uncomfortable, it was bearable. The discomfort was worth gritting my teeth for, as my skin was glowing, exfoliated and looked clearer. I've now used this about 5 times and each time it has been slightly less painful. My face usually looks slightly flushed for about 30 mins after using it so I tend to avoid using this right before I'm due to go out for the evening! I agree with the other reviewers and would not suggest this for people with sensitive skin or people who don't think they could deal with the INTENSE tingling sensation. This face mask is going to last me a very long time, as you only need a tiny amount, so I feel this is incredible value for money. I like the packaging and the smell of this product too. I love Peter Thomas Roth products, and this is definitely up there with my favourites.
