Disappointing

2

The cleanser by the same name is one of my all time favourites so I truly had very high hopes for this. The scent is probably the only thing I’d say it has going for it. Frustratingly, it doesn’t lather which is an essential criteria for my body washes. It also leaves a residue. You need to use an extraordinary amount with each wash to get it to work, which makes this already expensive product even more expensive. Comparing it to Le Labo Hinoki at £21 & Fresh Shower Gels also at £21, or Aesop at £33 for 500ml, I just can’t justify this price when the product doesn’t perform.

The first shower gel that requires a manual

Actually, there are only a handful of criteria to evaluate a shower gel: How does the shower gel smell? How intense is the scent that stays on the skin? How gently does the gel wash and how well does it cleanse without drying out the skin? How economical is the application? How safe are the ingredients? And what is the price-performance ratio? But this shower gel changes my attitude: The fragrance? Very pleasantly citrusy with a hint of mango. But the scent remains extremely subtle. But now comes the big 'but': Because this shower gel does not foam at all - not at all, not even a little bit - and I need too much with and without a shower sponge, but at the same time an extreme film remains on the skin and at the same time the bathtub remains enormously slippery and absolutely needs to be cleaned carefully afterwards, the cleansing performance is also questionable for me because of this film on the skin. Those who know the relatively new shower gel from 'Drunk Elephant' know what film on the skin I am talking about, only it is much more extreme with this product. Yes, this gel does not dry out the skin, which is currently a boon for the hands during the pandemic. But the film that remains on the skin irritates and disturbs me too much. The attempt to use the shower gel for bathing was all the funnier: if you try to simply put a few drops in the water, the gel floats through the tub in little pieces like coagulated egg white in hot water. At least it's a job to catch them with your hands and mix them with the water. I'm sure the product will find customers who like it, but I don't think the price-performance ratio is justified and even if the shower gel respects my skin, this thick film on the skin is not pleasant for me.

Not for me

Did not like the texture, the washing impact is questionable, I needed quite a lot of product to feel precisely clean and fresh, would not repurchase.
