    • Why it's Cult

Co-created by British make up artist Arabella Preston, VOTARY’s luxurious line harnesses the power of premium plant oils, which deliver incredibly soothing, age-defying benefits without sitting on the surface of your skin (as creams and man-made mineral oils can). Perfect for oily, blemish-prone skin, this Cleanser is made from 100% natural plant oils. A joy to use, it stars lightweight and non-clogging rice bran oil to gently exfoliate, plus rosemary to deeply cleanse and lift impurities. The result? Your skin won’t be triggered into producing more sebum (and starting the whole congested, sore cycle all over again) and will instead be left clean, soft, calm and healthy.

    • Description

If your skin is blemish-prone or in the middle of a breakout (or several…) resist the temptation to ‘dry it out’ with traditional spot-fighting formulas and reach for this instead. This Clarifying Cleansing Oil – Rosemary and Oat (and full size 100% cotton Face Cloth) is the first step in clearing and rebalancing oily skin. How, you might well ask? An extremely lightweight, non-clogging rice bran oil gently exfoliates skin while rosemary and bergamot deep cleanses, lifting and removing impurities, leaving pores clear. Instead of finishing your routine with tight and dry skin which triggers the production of sebum, this cleanse leaves skin soft, clean, calm and healthy.

    • How to use

Put 4 to 5 pumps of oil into the palm of your hand. Spread between your palms and then apply to your face. Start with your cheeks, then your nose, mouth and jawline and finally the area around your eyes. Splash your face with warm water and continue to massage the oil into your face and eyelashes. Now here’s the absolutely crucial part. Take a clean flannel. Soak it in hand-hot water, wring it out, and put it over your face. Breathe in and allow the steam to penetrate your pores. Then, gently wipe everything away. Repeat if necessary. To finish, splash your face with warm water and pat dry with a clean towel.

VOTARY Clarifying Cleansing Oil - Rosemary and Oat Reviews

    Amazing cleanser
My daughter is using all three products in the Clarifying range and this cleanser is a must have! There has been a marked improvement in her skin which looks less red and angry. Certainly helping her skin condition!
    Best Oil Cleanser to date.
My skin has never really been compatible with balm/oil cleansers, they always seemed to be too heavy for my skin resulting in countless break-outs. This is just a bliss. It’s super lightweight and does the job fantastically. I use it as a skin cleanser after having taken my make-up off with the La Roche Posay Effaclar Micellar Water.
    Beautiful cleansing oil.
I’m on my second bottle of Votary clarifying cleansing oil and nothing compares to it. I have tried other oils which do the job at removing impurities and cleansing my skin but they don’t feel or smell remotely as luxurious as this. I also love the facial oils from Votary and will continue to keep purchasing their products.
    Excellent
This is my favourite oil cleanser. It smells lovely and natural, feels really hydrating and doesn't dry your skin out. Also great for acne-prone skin types like mine. Another reviewer has stated that it doesn't emulsify when you rinse off - it won't do as it doesn't contain emulsifying ingredients. You have to use a hot/warm washcloth (they provide one), and this actually makes it feel much more luxurious, and the lack of water means your skin won't dry out. Highly recommend, particularly if your skin feels tight after washing with regular cleansers! I'm on my 4th bottle!
    Not really a cleanser.
It smells wonderful, and probably the blend of oils do help with acne...but my major issue with this is that it doesn't qualify as a cleansing oil because it doesn't emulsify when you rinse it off. It leaves a greasy residue on the face and it feels a bit heavy.
